Probably not, but I think that "touches" may still be around 100 or so barring injury.  It's hard to project right now bc FA and the draft have not happened.  As I said in another thread, Gesecki is the key Piece here.  If Miami tenders him then the Offense isn't going to be exactly SF east bc he cannot block.  If they let him Walk and go after a more "complete" TE then I think the offense likely runs through Waddle and whatever Platoon of RBs MM decides to bring in. Parker and Williams likely aren't going anywhere and I don't see Miami spending a lot of scrilla on a WR when they intend to be a running team (maybe a "deebo" sized WR?)

You might want to take a look at this which means I do think Miami is willing to spend on a free agent WR. They'll do anything this off season to try and see if Tua can be a long term solution.

I was talking Gallup but good points, let's pivot off Gallup and focus on a few others. 

-A guy i like quite a bit and would enjoy seeing Miami being in is Braxton Berrios who is going to be a free agent. He flashed quite a lot between the Pats and Jets, why not come to another AFC East team? I'm trying to be realistic about WRs that will actually be allowed to leave via free agency...for example, I don't think Adams is leaving Green Bay.

In no way is Waddle anything like Chase and then you add in the cannon arm QB that throws to him, the drop off from Chase to Waddle and that's why I think Moore will still be the clear No 2 from this class over the next couple seasons as he rises.

I like Elijah as well and just made a move for him. I think you may be underselling Waddle as a better running game combined with McDaniel should afford some bigger plays. Targets will most likely come down but I can see him being used creatively in the run game and creating more splash plays. I'm not sure Moore will be the clear #2 from this class, several candidates-including Waddle, but otherwise I actually agree with everything MoP has to say here.

Not a hater just FYI, I still think Waddle is going to be a strong WR but some of us down here can see he was the only option many weeks at WR, just by attrition he was going to make some noise. 

34/460/5TDs he managed to rack over 6 weeks and he didn't even start in 3 of those games. Over 17 weeks this equates to A LOT!!! 90/1400/14 TDs...those look awfully similar to another STUD WR we saw taken 1st out of this very talented batch of Rookie WRs in '21. 

-Don't get me wrong, Waddle is a terrific young WR with potential and I like the idea he would make bigger plays with a stronger running game, better OL allowing noodle arm Tua more time to wind up the rubber band, that's all true. 

Jets Offense is as bad if not worse than the Phins at the moment but surely it will get better in Year 2 under...who's the coach there? 

All I'm saying is Waddle sounds like he has a TON of Street Cred right now and he might be best on your roster or you could flip him and get Moore in return plus I'm guessing quite a bit more. Think of it like trading for Matt Stafford except you are moving Staff to the Rams and getting a starter plus multiple 1st in return, maybe you can't swing that but certainly a 2 for 1 or extra picks, Moore's value will likely sky rocket this year, how much better is Waddle gonna get? 

-Waddle did some amazing things, he racked up more receptions in 1 season than he did in 3 seasons at Alabama. he never cleared 1,000 yds in college, did it his 1st year at Miami...17 games but OK he did it and I was skeptical. 

9.8 yds per reception, that's a steep 10 yd drop off from college...same QB he had there.  

I don't play Dynasty and I usually take a long nap in the off season but it's good for me right now to stick my head into this vs drowning on cable news networks so I appreciate the back and forth with you guys. 

I hope Waddle explodes even more in 2022, as a Miami fan it would be delightful. But I loved Moore coming out of college and felt he was the most polished receiver I saw. I'm not anti-Waddle is what i am trying to express.

I believe as the Dolphins get better on offense and Tua settles in more, they will open up the playbook for more explosive plays downfield to Waddle.  Something we saw at Alabama.  He was uncoverable at times.  He has a lot more to grow before leveling out.

Short term it does sting, still like the long term prospects. Hill will take the top corner with him so it does free up Waddle a bit. Good luck trying to make sure both are covered.

This helps Waddle's overall productivity but it dampens his number of targets.  I think it will balance out.  Look at Kyle Pitts in Atlanta, he got the volume, but i think it hurts him they don't have anyone else to throw to.

I believe you are thinking one-dimensional and you can't base 2022 on 2021 usage.  I think this opens up Waddle to better production than you think, but with fewer targets.  Teams won't be able to shadow him.  Waddle will be just fine IMO.

Waddle's yards per catch will soar, but his volume decrease some.  Waddle won't have the same coverage this season with Hill on the other side.  Those who think how can you think Devante Adams hurts Hunter Renfrow's value, yet Hill won't hurt Waddle's value?  My answer to that is they are two totally different WRs in how they were used in their offense.  While I do think Hill will get around 22% to 24?% of the target share in Miami, I truly believe Hill's presence won't hurt Waddle as much as some think.  Mainly because YPC will increase, while volume will decrease some, but not drastically.

His value all comes down to Tua...can he support two big time WRs (as well as Gesicki, Parker and Wilson)...the good news for Waddle is he will not be blanketed...the bad news is Hill does a lot of what he does as well...Waddle is too good not to have a lot of value but this will come down to Tua because it absolutely won't happen with Bridgewater at QB.

Waddle’s not getting 140 targets again but I could still see in the low 100’s. The quality should definitely improve with Tyreek taking coverage. I see Gesicki being the most hurt target-wise, he’ll have some games but will be much more boom/bust than before. Stick a fork finally in Parker but he got 70 targets last year so not all of Tyreek’s may come at Waddle’s expense.

Improvements to the o’line and coaching philosophy and hopefully a healthy Tua should help the overall offense. Those Jacoby Brisset games were abysmal. Waddle got a lot of targets but they were mostly short catches going nowhere.

I think of 1A and 1B. In terms of dynasty I'd take Waddle everyday and Sunday over Hill, obviously. In ppr Hill has the advantage but thr gap gets smaller in standard leagues. Hill had the luxury of Kelce forcing defenses to focus on the underneath intermittent passing. Hill's game is mostly the long ball. In my opinion he will have to adjust to this offense more than Waddle. Having said this if Tua can even be a vanilla Mahomes then both wr's will have plenty to eat.

Practice was canceled today due to some Dolphin players and staff coming down with a possibly contagious non-Covid stomach bug. So, the Eagles practiced on Miami's field on their own. Bummer for those drafting this weekend (me), if Waddle doesn't play this weekend we might not know why. No word on whether Chipotle was involved.

Drafted with the 6th pick overall in 2021, this Rookie was about the last man standing most weeks and saw several games with target totals he won't find as easily this year, let's just get to brass tax and stop sugarcoating it. Dynasty-bright, Redraft-not as bright as some like to think and then you add in injuries and I see a step back for him in '22 and especially with more mouths to feed on Offense, he won't find himself the center of the playbook this year.

140 targets last year will lower itself this season. last year he had games with 13-13-12-11-11-10-10, that's 80 targets in 7 games, that's going to change this season with the new additions.

I would agree with much of this, though I think Waddle's YPC in this offense could skyrocket, like close to 15 or so. So while 100 catches is very unlikely to happen again, he could put up similar yards/TDs on probably 70-75 catches.

I'd also argue that Cedrick Wilson isn't a real threat to anyone, and probably will end up being a waste of money. If they knew Hill was going to be available, I doubt he ever gets signed in the first place. I also don't see Gesicki and co, putting up anywhere near Kittle numbers, so Waddle could absorb some of that, at least the targets anyway, not the role.

I've got Waddle at WR18 personally and could probably argue him anywhere from 14-19. Taht said, he's not exactly somebody I'm targeting, more like settling for. Being that I've got guys like Sutton and Hollywood ahead of him, it probably won't come up.

Stats would be roughly 90 receptions - 10 ypc (again, conservative) and I think he will score more than 6 times. But his floor is 235 points if he just repeats what he did last year with fewer targets.

I guess, I see him benefiting from Tyreek Hill and another year with Tua overall. While targets may go down, quality will increase.

100 receptions - 1300yds - 10 TDs - 290 fantasy points in PPR. Seems pretty doable, actually.

17 games x 7 targets avg, 5 catches a game puts us at 80+ which is about my prediction. On weeks Miami can get away with fewer passes and more pronounced running game, less targets for everyone. Miami has STUNK running the ball since Moby **** was a minnow, hard to gauge what a Top 10 Offense will look like since Miami has not had one of those in over 25 years...think about that, all the way back to Marino and we've never had a Top 10 Offense since then.

-Trav mentioned that his yds per catch could skyrocket, he was a 20 yds a clip guy in college, I looked it up and was shocked how few yds on so many receptions. Yes! His stats could go up with that one adjustment even with fewer targets and receptions.

-I would like to see them attempt the Deebo role with Waddle since he's younger and a lot cheaper than the money they are shelling out on Hill, keep that guy running fly patterns and taking 2 DBs with him down the field every snap.

I can understand the trepidation, but based on Tua's performance - if I was going to worry about anyone, it would be Tyreek. I mean, we have already seen his highest possible output and Tua could replicate those numbers, but that is the best it will get. I think the most plausible outcome is Waddle rises as the tide rises and sees better quality, more space, more yardage and more TD's. I've just seen what he could do with a bad team and think the Dolphins are much improved.

MOP - I am a Cowboys fan, unlike the crazy ones who go into every season thinking we are going to win the Super Bowl ever year. I understand your frustration, but it just seems like Waddle is a talent that can't be ignored and the presence of an offense and good coach is only going to help him. It all rests on Tua's shoulders now and that is the only part that worries me. Two WR's being drafted in the top 4 rounds of fantasy drafts, but the QB was taken in the 16th of my home league.

I can't argue with any of the other pieces of your analysis, but this statement feels forced. You've been a critic of Tua since he was drafted, and that's fine but in his time there the Dolphins haven't actually rostered two people capable of WR1 type production.
