WR Jerry Jeudy, CLE (1 Viewer)

Someone just dropped Jeudy in my league. Likely going to drop Malik Washington,
who I picked up a few days ago, to replace him.

Could be ugly volume with Gabriel, but Jeudy probably has more guaranteed volume as the top dog.

Can somebody please explain FBG's fascination with Jeudy? They've overprojected him every single week this season. They project him to score 11+ ppr points every week, 12 for week 7. He hasn't sniffed 11 since week 1 and he's averaging 6.5 since then. Every week they want me to start him, and every week they're wrong. Thankfully I've ignored them for a while, but it's a little annoying.

At some point they'll be right, but agree.

These are the tools I use in trying to figure out usage. Then obviously matchup.

I have him in the FBG sleeper league and he's been riding the pine for a while even though sleeper also has him as an 11 point player (full PPR). I was never a believer until last year and into this past offseason when I decided to take him as he was falling in the FBG #4. He's a fine player but not a superstar. Role and offense turned him into a very useful player last year but obviously much less so this year.

You could do worse I guess with a WR4/flex guy but yeah, it's not been a resume building year for Jeudy.

Deep dive into 10 underperforming WRs so far this season 👀

Threw together a quick ranking of three volume metrics and compared those to the fantasy point totals for the Top 80 WRs through six weeks. Came up with a list of 10 names who are underperforming their usage so far and gave notes on my player takes and the situations for each of them going forward.

Plenty of brutal stats in this one but by far the most outrageous is that Jerry Jeudy leads all wide receivers in routes run this year with 247 and ranking 4th in air yards and 12th in targets but has yet to score double digit half PPR points in a single game this season.

He had a season-high 9.1 in Week 1 and is the WR57 overall.

The massive target volume last year with Tillman out really seemed to have obfuscated the fact that he’s not a very good WR. Just played lights out for a stretch for a bit last year.

Jerry Jeudy has 21 dropped passes in his last 23 games, far more than any player during that time span.

Andy Berry gave Jeudy a $52.5 million contract extension in 2024
Jeudy = Jamo? A deep threat decoy that "opens everything up for everyone else underneath"? Good football player...not fantasy player?
Longtime Jeudy defender here but no way his play this year can be described as being a good football player.

He’s been awful at just about everything.

Still that tweet does some weak framing IMO to make Berry and the Browns look bad. He played like he was worth that extension last season.

I had JSN, Davante Adams and even Tre Tucker on bye and ended up starting him (vs @Hot Sauce Guy ) instead of dropping him for (insert name here of anybody else). Goose.

I watched the game. New England stacked the box to keep the run game in check, daring Gabriel to beat them. The Browns got Fannin open early but the Pats did something to more or less shut that down then the Browns could get zero going offensively for the rest of the game. Jeudy got targeted a couple of times but was never really open. I thought he could have come down with the pass in the end zone. It was high for sure but IMO great WRs catch that. His other target was a little out of bounds IIRC. I didn't watch all 22 but if he got open at all, I didn't see it.

It's pretty clear that the Browns passing game is limited. The pecking order seems to be Fannin then pretty flat across a bunch of guys (Thrash, Jeudy etc.)

Short version is Juedy is playing really bad and now they have a QB who struggles throwing anything other then to the TE's.

I recall last year loading up on Juedy and almost cut him in two leagues heading into week 8. He was WR69 in PPR at that time. He was WR7 in PPG the ROS.

Obviously he got saved by Winston but he also also was not playing as bad as he has this year. Could Sanders lead to at least a mini-rebound like last year?
