WR Josh Gordon, KC (3 Viewers)

not that it matters, but my guess is that it was a diluted sample.

below the threshold, but with traces of THC.

so it was enough to make him delay his reinstatement, but not enough to block it.

no bending of the rules in that scenario.

Bell has never been "busted"  by the NFL for weed, as far as we know.  He was entered into the program b/c of his arrest for DWI for weed, and he has missed tests, resulting in his pending suspension.  Now one could surmise (probably correctly) that he missed those tests b/c he would have pissed dirty, but the fact remains he has never been "busted" by the NFL for weed.
Why get hung up on semantics?  Busted by the police for weed is virtually the same as getting busted by the league.  And we know the primary reason tests are missed.  If no new revelation surfaces in his favor, this will be his second time.  Not rooting against the guy, but that is how it appears right now.

changing what subject? I won. Gordon will be back this season, by week 5. Despite months and months of knowledgeable members saying otherwise

Despite being told countless times that Roger wouldnt even HEAR his appeal for months. Dion Jordon. Etc Etc.

The commish literally bent the rules for Gordon. I feel like a millionaire. You cant bring me down
"I won"

When are you going to stop? So he got reinstated. You're not a hero because you argued that he would. Get over it.

When is he gonna be useful to you?

After his long layoff last time, he looked out of shape.  He is starting training camp with an injury.  He's missing the first month of the season.  When are people planning on plugging him into the lineup?
This is a really good pragmatic point. In 2013 he helped me win but then in 2014 I blew it starting him in the championship because I kept rationalizing that he was the same guy capable of 200 yard games. Objectively, he looked like crap at the end of 2014. He's been away a loooong time. I don't know man....early drafts where you could get him in the double digit rounds--that made sense as a relatively risk less bet. But now with an adp in the 6th? No thanks....

Good question.

I think a lot of that depends on the QB play.  In 2013 he was QB proof but that was under Norv, now with Hue at the helm and RGIII under center there is a whole lot that we simply cannot know about this team.  The preseason will shed a little light on the situation, very little, which should help late drafters.  However, for me, drafting Gordon is going to be more art than science, I can't tell you when he should be drafted but I'll know it when I see it.

I hope you're right. The league would be a much better place if RGIII and Gordon recapture their past form and CLE got back on the map. Loved those gritty Marty teams even if they never got over the hump. I honestly think Jackson represents a big step in the right direction. Still don't have much faith in Gordon/RGIII but I also would have told you that you were nuts if you thought LeBron would return to CLE and win a title just a few years ago.

Just wondering what some peoples projections were. I have to think CLE will be playing from behind a lot and he could rake in junk time. Something like 60-1000-8?

Missing 4 games?

1100/7 to play it safe. 1200/9 my guesstimate
RG3 has averaged 218 passing yards a game and Gordon is going to account for almost half of them? In 2012, Gordon averaged 50 yrs/game and in 2014, 60 yds/gm. Lots of folks would love for him to average 117 yds/game like he did in in 2013, but other than Cameron, there really wasn't much to throw to at that time.

Are you trying to use logic on Soulfly? ....Sorry, won't work

I should learn to stay out of this thread. I'm a fan of the Browns and obviously it is to my benefit if Gordon comes back and does well. But Soul makes it so, so hard to root for the guy to do anything other than fall flat on his face. Ugh.

Browns coach Hue Jackson said Sunday that suspended WR Josh Gordon has shed weight since the beginning of camp.
Jackson recently called out Gordon for being overweight, but he's making progress. "I can't give you a number, but it has come off," said Jackson. "He's working hard. He's a big man, and we'll get him where he needs to be." Gordon is expected to miss Cleveland's second preseason game, but he could be ready for the Browns' regular season dress rehearsal two weeks from now.

He's fat and he hasn't played much the last few years. He isn't going to come in and play at that insane level he reached a few years back right away. 700-800 yards for the season and a handful of TDs feels right. From a dynasty perspective, NEXT year, after he's had a normal off-season, kept the weight off and knocked the rust off, is when he could really produce.

Maybe they mean "phat," and their talk-to-text isn't up with the hip new lingo?

Phat is still hip, right?

Phat not hip?

Applesauce, don't be a big palooka and give me the heebie jeebies, phat is the cat's pajamas.

Phat is keen.  Now lets roll out the jaloppy and go check out some tomatos with nice gams because I see a nice hotsy-totsy over there daddy-o.

Half of that, maybe. But it's even more likely he'll do something stupid and disgrace himself even more than he already has. But no, I realistically don't think he gets close to 1,000 yards.

The whole organization is a disaster.  Gordon is smokin a bowl right now while on his way to another drug test.

I will not believe this guy plays a game this year until I see it.  And even then I might not believe it.
