Vikings don't need him but I agree that he will be an asset to whatever team he goes to.  I actually think Chiefs would be a good fit as they could use a possession guy (I also think A-Rob would be a great fit for Chiefs).  I think he complements Tyreek and Kelce....especially with Kelce being another year older.  

Another nice fit would be Tennessee or the Colts

 
The Athletic's Ed Bouchette noted that he believes the Steelers will try to re-sign impending FA WR Juju Smith-Schuster at a "reasonable" price.

He also believes that there will not be much out there for Smith-Schuster on the market. That is the way things have been trending for Smtih-Schuster since he nearly put up 1500 receiving yards in 2018 -- he hasn't cracked 1,000 yards in any of the last three seasons and missed all but five games of last campaign with a shoulder injury. Reading between the lines, it seems like Smith-Schuster will try to get a prove-it pact done somewhere to improve his value.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Eagles, Chiefs, Bears, and Jaguars "could be involved" with JuJu Smith-Schuster come Monday's legal tampering period.

A potential re-signing in Pittsburgh is also not to be ruled out. Smith-Schuster played just five regular season games last year while dealing with a shoulder injury, and hasn't cracked 1,000 yards since his breakout 2018 campaign. He would be a particularly interesting fantasy fit in Kansas City or Jacksonville.

Jordan Schultz reports the Eagles and Jaguars are "dark horse teams" for free agent JuJu Smith-Schuster.  

Schultz also reports the Chiefs "remain in play" for Smith-Schuster after making a play for Smith-Schuster last offseason. All three clubs are amongst the most receiver-needy in the league. The Eagles, in particular, seem intent on making a splash, though it could be with one of their three first-round picks. After taking a team-friendly, one-year deal with the Steelers last spring, Smith-Schuster feels poised to move on this time around.

The Jaguars would be a very enticing destination for JuJu owners. He’d have a lot of opportunity as the first skill position player in the Pederson regime, with not a lot of competition off the bat.

Chiefs would be very interesting given the offense but not sure how many targets he’d get after Hill and Kelce ate.

Philly would not be good IMO in a run first offense that already features Smith and Goedert.

 
Juju smith Schuster goes to the Chiefs. I can’t think of a better landing spot. Exactly what they need as a chain mover and hard nosed player. Best WR2 they had during the Patrick Mahomes era..

I’m on the fence about the landing spot. Great offense obviously but third in the pecking order. Not exactly a long term commitment either.

Great move for both…Chiefs get another weapon and if Juju is ever gonna rehab his value he is now in the right spot.

 
Great landing spot IMO - he takes all of Pringle's targets (60) and maybe half of Hardman's (83) so that's pushing 100 right there.  Mahomes had 650 attempts last year so even third in the pecking order should (edit: could) make him a low-mid WR2

I am really not sure what JuJu is at this point, but the Chiefs needed to make a move. Hopefully he can be a chain mover and help loosen up the passing game allowing for more big plays. I am not overly confident he is the guy to do that but this is the best landing spot for his owners sake IMO.

I think Green Bay would have provided more opportunity but apparently either they had other ideas or didn’t offer as much.

I think he's much better than the Steelers have let him be the last couple years. Roethlisburger's arm has been fading for a while, and the Steelers offense was a run & deep shot - they used Juju as almost a RB with those 0-3 yard throws. When they would target him mid-to-deep he almost always produced. He's a perfect inside slant guy who has enough juice to take it to the house, and enough toughness to run over smaller DBs. 

I think he's been vastly underrated, and he's still a very young man, as NFL age goes.  IMO he was a great buy-low - I only wish my dynasty team was competitive enough to get him for a 2nd or a 3rd and pieces while his value was depressed. 

As the WR2 in KC, the buy-low window is closed. If he catches anything north of 80 passes, he's gonna have a monster season.

I don't know that he'll take Hardman's. They have such different skill sets. So much off Hardman's stuff is deep shots, and manufactured touches(jet sweeps, screens) that it makes more sense for JuJu to be a blocker on. 

I'd put the over/under on JuJu targets at 85 or so. With Hardman probably around 75. Hill's probably unlikely to see 159 again, so some could come from there too. 

Its still an nice landing spot, because 85 targets could be 7-8 TD's. Pringle had 5 on 60 targets, and he stinks.

For him and the team IMO.

This offense does not lack much but over the years the losses of Hunt and Watkins took a lot of their physicality away.  JuJu's going to help with that and I think take a little off the season long burden of soon to be 33 year old Kelce while being a big red zone option. That's what he'll do for the team.

For him as long as Hill is healthy he'll see more open space underneath then he's ever seen in the NFL and when team take what's been the preferred option defending the Chiefs which is to play Cover Shell and try to cede a lot of the underneath stuff he's going to eat. I think he helps the Chiefs, I think he helps fantasy teams even more.

Thinking more about his relatively modest contract, I know it’s been a few years since JuJu has been an impact player, but it makes the Kirk and Zay Jones signings that much more baffling. 

 
Chiefs signed JuJu Smith-Schuster, formerly of the Steelers, to a one-year, $10.75 million contract. 

Smith-Schuster announced the deal himself. This move makes perfect sense for both sides. The Chiefs need a third option in the passing game behind Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, especially one that can operate underneath, and playing with Patrick Mahomes should rehab Smith-Schuster's value as he looks to cash in next year in free agency. Volume will be a concern, but Smith-Schuster has a path to WR3 value with the upside for more.

Immediate upgrade over anything currently on the roster.  How can anyone view Hardman  , Pringle  etc, as anything but also-rans? JuJu has shown he can be  stud WR and play at a high level. If/when cheetah gets hurt, JuJu can step in and fill those shoes better than the remaining WRs on the roster. JuJu didn't really have a top QB throwing to him the past few years, Big Ben was in steady and alarmingly rapid decline.

I think he'll be fine for the Chiefs, an upgrade over what's there, and another option for Mahomes.

 
Juju may be less skilled than what I thought but two skills he excels at IMO are tough catches in traffic and YAC. There is every reason to believe his weaknesses will be minimized with Tyreek and Kelce (and Mahomes) on the field and that his strengths will be maximized.

Volume will be an issue, but the splash plays should/could be there. 

I realized he hasn't signed to an extension just yet, but if we presume he plays well enough to earn one, and that he is going to be paired to Mahomes for the conceivable future...

...let me just take that in for a second... it felt good to type it...

then I mean sign me up. Instead of dividing the NFL by conferences it should just be Junior Varsity and the AFC West/North.

 
As a Steeler fan, I'm sad to see him go. Chiefs get someone who is better than the rest of the WRs after Hill, will contest everything underneath, and is a fierce blocker as well.  In my opinion, he will be a perfect fit as the #3 target.

That's a terrible deal. The Colts have 39 mill in cap space, they couldn't free up 5 mill for Juju? The NFL thinks he's a JAG.

Have to assume it gets a decent bump. 

They will clearly bring in someone else but whoever that guy is will not command as many targets as Tyreek. 

Should be a more equitable share available.

yeah definitely not great mojo heading into the season....but when you only get a one year deal I guess these things are part of it...

 
I know it's a slow news cycle now but in the context of him returning to Pittsburgh for the first time and sort of saying goodbye this does not seem like anything.

Now I don't think he'd ever admit this, at least not till the season was over, but I have wondered a few times if he'd have signed with them knowing they'd get rid of Tyreek, pay MVS more and then draft a guy who can do a lot of things you do.  I think he'd have still signed with them, but can't be totally sure on that.

KC fan...and have to admit part of me wasn't super crazy about the signing to begin with....KC courted him previously and he basically told them to pound sand and took same or less money to stay with Ben and PIT at a time when you thought a jump to Mahomes and KC would be a no brainer....now they toss him the olive branch again and he is already in some ways looking to a future "not in KC"....I get the whole "didn't really get to say goodbye" warm and fuzzy feeling of being back in PIT for this event or whatever....but as a teammate and staff, at some point it kinda makes you question his level of commitment.....

If you post was a movie it would be labeled as  based on true events but altered for dramatic purposes.

 
Seems like a solid value.  FBG PPR ADP has him at 69, so 6th/7th round depending on league size.  

He had a very promising start to his career, and has had some ups and downs the last 3 years.  He had a pretty solid 2020 campaign despite the issues at QB.  He should have plenty of targets from Mahommes.  

I appreciate the "He fell off after AB left town" part of the equation.  I assume Kelce will be "the guy" and Juju won't have to be the center of the passing game.  

 
Count me as someone who is VERY interested in Juju.  Problem is that he'll get a bunch of August hype and I can imagine him shooting up draft boards.  He's still only 25.  Feels like he's been around forever, right?  He's a full year younger than McLaurin.

I see three outcomes for him - gets a chance and is a star, gets a chance but he's mediocre, and gets a chance but gets beaten out by their many other options. 

He's got league winning potential if he's a star, and you can make the case that his numbers declined because ben was old, and they let him walk because Pittsburgh generally doesn't give second contracts to wide receivers.  It's definitely on the table, and the breakout players are usually guys who made a big change recently. 

On the other end of the spectrum, you can also make the case that he got beaten out in a career year because he wasn't the best target on his team, and he's entering an even more crowded receivers room in KC.  I doubt he beats out Kelce, and he's got to earn reps against their only veteran carry over Mecole and their early draft pick Skyy plus their other big addition MVS.  

And that puts me more towards the middle case for all these guys - maybe one guy emerges, maybe none, but i don't think you'll see two or three guys emerge alongside Kelce. 

I really liked jjss coming out and I see the upside but I'd want to draft a deep group of receivers if I'm taking him because I don't trust him.

Pittsburgh homer here.  Had the sense JuJu was Bens preferred target post AB. Diontae got the separation for high volume quick passes sure, but JuJu is the player even the fans can trust.  Fights through traffic, rarely drops em and somehow has the vision to maximize YAC. Great attitude.  Guy is a winner and wish him the best.  
Expect Mahomes to click with JJSS very quickly. Barring injury, I view him as a WR 2 in fantasy

Personally I'm a buyer.  I think he's Stokley, Collie, or Garcon.
