See my name above. I am a huge horned frog fan and watched him play in person every home game while he was at TCU.This kid scored 2 touchdowns today on KR and PR.
Watching on NFL network, I was like "Wow".
Watch his college highlights. Yikes

The kid was special then and could single-handedly change the course of games with his return game. Was also great on the field.
He’s going to be fun to watch. And if the cowboys get creative on the offense I think he can see some action there as well.

Kevonta Turpin was arguably the most talented player in the USFL. Maybe his size was a question, but his ability wasn't... his past with domestic violence is difficult to stomach.

Was arrested in 2018 while at TCU for assault, causing bodily harm and what he did to his girlfriend was horrifying. Then it was discovered he had a bench warrant out in New Mexico for the same thing, simply didn't report to court. He didn't play another game for TCU.
Yes and no. He’s worked his way back and maybe he’s changed. However, most NFL players are fine upstanding citizens. We shouldn’t generalize the behavior of a handful of criminals on to the ranks of thousands of current and former players. Now a reason it is relevant for fantasy is this guy has zero room for error. One misstep in his private life and he’s likely out of the league.Objection: Irrelevant.Pete Smith

If we had to weed out every POS that played in the NFL, we'd have a MUCH shorter list.

Absolutely agree. I don't like how easily we turn a blind eye on our own, individual sense or morality just to gain an advantage in magic football. Worse is how we do it in other, more consequential aspects of our lives.Objection: Irrelevant.
Not irrelevant to everyone. Just like with Deshaun Watson, part of playing fantasy football means you get to be the GM. And for sure, Watson is far from the only guy in the league with issues.
I think the other aspects of our lives part is really important here.Absolutely agree. I don't like how easily we turn a blind eye on our own, individual sense or morality just to gain an advantage in magic football. Worse is how we do it in other, more consequential aspects of our lives.
It's not really about punishing the player though, I just view these situations as the trailhead at the top of the slippery slope.I think the other aspects of our lives part is really important here.Absolutely agree. I get the idea of refusing to draft players with problematic backgrounds but it also has no consequence for the player. Turpin will never know you or your fantasy league ever exist. It seems a bit like being a fan of art but refusing to look at Caravaggio paintings because he was murderer and degenerate criminal. It provides no consequence to him at all. Though, I suppose if you take a stand and explain it t others, it could trigger them to do some exploring of their own world views and actions.

If you play team Defense, you have to have Dallas on your team. This guy will win weeks.
Turpin Time!I'll hold and see if how they do for a few weeks
He's a fun guy to watch. He's always been since the XFL or AFL or wherever I saw him.Next Gen Stats
KaVontae Turpin reached a top speed of 22.36 mph on his 64-yard TD reception, the fastest speed by a ball carrier this season, and the fastest play by a Cowboys ball carrier in the NGS era (since 2016).

It's hard to believe someone can be arrested for carrying a gun in Texas and for a little bit of weed. It's harder to believe that a Dallas Cowboy would.Mike Florio reports that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver/kick returner KaVontae Turpin was arrested early Sunday morning on two misdemeanor charges. Turpin faces charges for possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon, Florio notes. Not what you want to see. The TCU product was an impactful asset for the Cowboys last season -- particularly in the return game, which garnered him a Pro-Bowl selection. It's unclear whether he'll face repercussions for his crimes, considering the nature of the charges. However, both instances could "trigger potential scrutiny under NFL policies," as Florio states. The 28-year-old's punishment, if any, may not be severe, but what happened undoubtedly diminishes his value currently. It may take some time before we receive a definitive outcome.--Alex Ciulla

Some other issues and the cop laid these charges on him instead?
Something is off here.
Pretty incredible how common this seems to be, just register the firearm.weed is still illegal in texas. that in combination with carrying even legal guns can get pretty serious chargesIt's hard to believe someone can be arrested for carrying a gun in Texas and for a little bit of weed. The carry laws in most "gun states" are pretty strict on impairment, while carrying. Not just Marijuana but even having a few beers and carrying a pistol would ring up similarly to the charges Turpin is facing.Texas is a consistutional carry state. No license or registration required. As stated above, it's likely the weed (illegal) that created the gun charge. Texas is still a pretty conservative state politically, though most people are relatively liberal when it comes to marijuana.
Its also insane that he knew the risk according to local laws and yet still got caught. It's insane that someone can get arrested for buying something I can literally get in a store every other traffic light.
And it's insane that that statement could apply to either thing he got caught with.
