WR Marquise Brown, KC (6 Viewers)

Marquise Brown caught 4-of-4 targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' Week 15 win over the Jets.

Brown also added a 43-yard DPI penalty that set the Ravens up at the one-yard line. Badly beaten, Jets LB Neville Hewitt simply tackled Brown in the end zone. Brown's touchdown was a beautiful 24-yarder where he got his second foot down with a feathery touch in the back of the end zone. It was a needed night from a wideout who had been 4/-1 over his past two games. Brown's monster games have been few and far between, but he will have some WR3 appeal for the fantasy finals against the Browns.

I think he is a good buy low candidate if the owners are will to part with him.  I would hope his nagging injury can heal this offseason and he isn't listed on injury report every week.

Oh yeah, he's tied to one of the best young QBs in the league and will have all kinds of opportunities to get behind the defense each game.  He looks good.

If you wait until his price goes up it's too late. Injuries are the big concern for me. I own him in 2 leagues and plan on holding.

Marquise Brown caught 7-of-11 targets for 126 yards in Baltimore's stunning Divisional Round loss to the Titans.

Oft-injured and entering nearly every game with a designation, it's unsurprising Brown, who avoided Baltimore's Divisional Round injury report altogether, capped off his rookie year with just his second 100-plus yard performance of the season. Heading into Week 1 fresh off a Lisfranc injury he dealt with throughout the offseason, 'Hollywood' exploded for 4/147/2 in his regular season debut against the Dolphins then totaled 42/437/5 over his next 13 appearances. His seven touchdowns (in a limited showing, nonetheless) still tied for Baltimore's rookie franchise record. With a full offseason to rehabilitate and return to health, Brown's explosiveness in one of the league's most exciting offenses will undoubtedly land him as a high-upside mid-round selection in fantasy drafts next year.

Ranking the 2019 rookie wide receivers for dynasty fantasy football

Excerpt:

3. MARQUISE BROWN, BALTIMORE RAVENS

Key stat: Of 75 qualifying wide receivers, Brown ranked first in passer rating when targeted (134.4) and 11th in fantasy points per route run (0.45).

Brown was the first wide receiver drafted in 2019, and he probably had the best landing spot, but he finished the season just eighth in receiving yards (584). Sure, looking at the raw numbers, Brown’s rookie season might appear underwhelming, but on a per-route or per-target basis, his numbers were among the best in the league. And, I think that’s the larger story in a season marred by injury.

Brown spent much of the offseason rehabbing from Lisfranc surgery (typically a massive disadvantage for any rookie), and then spent nine of 16 games on the injury report listed as questionable. During the regular season, Brown played on just 58% of Baltimore’s snaps when active. During the postseason, Brown appeared to be unleashed, playing on 85% of the snaps and turning 11 targets into 126 yards.

Like his most common pre-draft player comparison (DeSean Jackson), Brown may always struggle with injuries (perhaps due to his slight frame). But, he was hyper-efficient in college (by yards per route run and depth-adjusted yards per target), he was hyper-efficient in rookie season, and he’s tethered to the league’s reigning MVP for the foreseeable future. As I see it, so long as he can stay healthy, the sky’s the limit

Ravens WR Marquise Brown had offseason surgery to remove a screw from his foot.

While this process eliminates any complications Brown may experience with his foot moving forward, it does make the the sophomore wideout questionable for Baltimore's offseason program. The 22-year-old was "rarely at 100 percent" (per coach John Harbaugh) during his breakout rookie season despite finishing with an impressive 46/584/7 receiving. Expected to return to full strength by the team's season opener, Brown will likely fall as a boom-or-bust WR3 in Best-Ball leagues throughout the offseason.

Marquise Brown 2020 Outlook: A Solid Deep Threat

Marquise Brown performed admirably in 2019, especially considering it was his rookie season. He hauled in 46 of 71 targets for 584 yards and seven scores in 14 games. This performance was good enough to rank him eighth in yards and third in touchdowns among rookie wide receivers. He established himself as a ridiculous deep threat as noted by his eight catches of 20-plus yards and four catches of 40-plus yards. In the same breath, he ranked in the top 36% of the league in terms of air yards per game (53.8) and top 27% in terms of percentage of team air yards (20.9%). Another positive note is the confidence Lamar Jackson had in him as expressed via his 71 targets, which ranked second on the Ravens behind only Mark Andrews, and also ranked him in the top 23% of the league in terms of team target percentage. In 2020, Brown should only improve upon these numbers as he gains another year of experience in the Ravens' system. He is listed atop the Ravens' depth chart at wide receiver and has little in the way of competition for targets aside from Andrews. He currently has an ADP of 73 in PPR leagues and is being taken as the 31st wide receiver off the board. With another year of development and a step forward in 2020, he could easily find himself in the top 30 or higher at the position, and therefore, reaching up for him slightly should not pose much risk. Also, he makes for a solid choice in best-ball leagues.--Kipp Heisterman - RotoBaller

I would love to have Hollywood and I expect he will make the leap to be a WR1, if he stays healthy. The ability to stay healthy and on the field a full season is my only concern, but that is a real concern so you have to adjust your ranking of him accordingly.

Lamar Jackson can regress and still have epic 2020 season behind elite Ravens squad

Andy: If you wanted some sort of regression take on Lamar Jackson, you got the wrong guy. He can regress a fair amount and still comfortably finish among the top fantasy QBs. Instead I’m gonna say that Marquise Brown makes a second-year leap in terms of total production, drawing over 100 targets and finishing as a top-24 receiver for fantasy purposes. Hollywood was a highlight machine as a rookie, but he was operating at less than 100 percent health all year. He clearly has 1,000-yard potential in 2020.

Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman believes WR Marquise Brown has had "a great offseason physically."

Roman is rightfully excited to see his young No. 1 receiver to get back to full health this offseason following an inconsistent rookie season, partially because of his Lisfranc injury. Brown averaged just 42 yards in 2019 but closed the year with a 7-126-0 receiving line against Tennessee in the playoffs. Following the season, Brown had surgery to remove the screw from his foot and has been rehabbing ever sense. With training camp just a month away, we'll see if Brown is truly back to full health or not. If he is, Brown will be a WR3 target in fantasy drafts. Lamar Jackson led the NFL in passing touchdowns (36) despite Baltimore's league-low 468 quarterback dropbacks.

Marquise Brown gained 23 pounds this offseason and is up to 180 after playing at 157 as a rookie.

Brown weighed in at 166 in the pre-draft process and reported to Oklahoma at 144 as a freshman, so he's put on some serious weight. Teammate WR Willie Snead said Brown looks to be in phenomenal shape. We're typically not fans of skill players adding a bunch of weight, but Brown thinks he can still keep his speed with the added poundage. Brown said he had the Ravens send him a GPS tracker to make sure he wasn't losing any of his speed, which is Hollywood's best asset. Brown is a very popular year-two lift-off candidate. He's currently coming off the board as the WR30 in half-PPR drafts in the sixth round.

For young guys still growing into their bodies, perhaps just embracing proper nutrition and fitness, it's not as drastic.  He was very slim so had the room to add them.
I jumped over twenty-five one summer in college with proper nutrition, diet, and training. It can easily happen. I was only 6'0" and 165, too, so it's a lot more like Marquise than a huge dude getting bigger.

Yes, I retained all of the speed, but not all of the flexibility for those that care (inquiring minds and all that...)

Anyway, personal anecdote by way of saying that it can be done if one lives to do it.

NFL training camp 2020: Tua gets to work, early injuries and birthday wishes for Jon Gruden

Excerpt:

Lamar Jackson has worked with wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown this offseason, and their chemistry was evident in the first padded practice of training camp. Jackson hit Brown on a 15-yard deep slant down the seam and hit him again on a long touchdown pass when Brown got behind cornerback Marcus Peters. Brown took a strong first step into establishing himself as the true No. 1 wide receiver in the Ravens' offense. Asked about the next step in the development of Jackson, cornerback Marlon Humphrey said: "It's kind of hard to really put a cap on what he can do. Just off the things he did last year, he's on a path really no one has ever been close to." -- Jamison Hensley

Marquise Brown caught 5-of-6 targets for 101 yards in the Ravens' Week 1 win over the Browns.

Brown didn't manage to find the end zone but still topped 100 yards. Lamar Jackson connected with him early in the game for a 47-yard gain on the Ravens' third drive. He caught one more pass of over 20 yards and was clearly a problem for the injury-riddled Browns secondary. Brown has speed that few defenders can keep up with and gives defensive coordinators nightmares. The Ravens face a Houston secondary that gave up three passing scores to Patrick Mahomes in Week 1. Brown is a high-end WR2 going forward and will have massive upside in a great matchup next week.

Marquise Brown caught 5-of-6 targets for 42 yards in Baltimore's Week 3 win over Houston.

It was smooth sailing for Brown, who was only asked to find pockets in Houston's secondary and sprint upfield for what the defense would give him. Baltimore instead leaned on 37 carries (for 230 yards and 6.2 YPA) to put this one away. Brown still led the team across the board in targets, catches, receiving and air yards, however, solidifying his place as a strong WR2 ahead of the team's Week 3 shootout against the Chiefs.

Second-year breakout watch: 5 players who look set for a breakout year, 5 players who have taken a step back

Excerpt:

WR Marquise Brown, Baltimore Ravens

If it weren't for the injuries that he battled throughout his rookie campaign, Brown probably wouldn't be on this list — he would have broken out already. Fortunately, he started the 2020 season fully healthy and has impressed through two games of action, earning a 78.7 receiving grade that ranks 10th among wide receivers and averaging 2.75 yards per route run to rank eighth.

Brown is best described as a big play waiting to happen. He can fly past defensive backs for an open ball, and that's helped him earn the 12th-best receiving grade on targets of 20-plus yards since entering the league. Brown has also seen the fourth-lowest rate on contested targets on deep balls, at 15.8%. With a clean bill of health, Brown is a candidate to put up monster numbers over for the rest of the year.

Marquise Brown caught just 2-of-6 targets for 13 yards in the Ravens' Week 3 loss to the Chiefs.

Brown could have easily had a much bigger night, but Lamar Jackson played terribly and missed Brown on what should have been a long touchdown in the second half with an ugly under-throw after Brown smoked the defensive back off the line. Brown has yet to find the end zone three weeks into the year, but he's seen a promising six targets per game in a low-volume passing attack. Brown gets an enticing Week 4 date with Washington.

Marquise Brown caught 4-of-7 targets for 86 yards in the Ravens' Week 4 win against Washington.

Lamar Jackson barely missed on two long balls to Brown, who had separated from defenders downfield. It's the second straight week Brown has come oh-so-close to a big play. He's a a volatile producer, but you knew that when you drafted him. Brown gets a tasty Week 5 matchup against a leaky Bengals secondary.

I am happy he is getting the big targets!
i wish there were more targets, he only has 26 through 4 games. fair or not but tyler lockett was someone who produced wr1/2 seasons with 110ish targets... because he was able to make big plays thanks to russ' accuracy. i dont think lamar jackson is going to be consistent enough for brown to have a wr2 season if he's only getting around 100 yargets. i have confidence brown will have 1-2 week winning weeks, but good luck guessing which.

Ravens WR Marquise Brown (knee) is listed as question for Week 5 against the Bengals.

Brown is expected to suit up after practicing in full on Friday. The team limited Brown at practice earlier this week in an effort to manage his reps. With a team-leading 41.5 percent of the Ravens' air yards but little production to show for it, Brown could be in for a big game against a vulnerable Bengals defense.

Marquise Brown caught 4-of-6 targets for 57 yards in the Ravens' Week 6 win against the Eagles.

Brown led the team in targets. In the Ravens' low-volume passing attack, that usually doesn't mean much unless Brown can bust one for a long touchdown. The Ravens were conservative throughout the second half, trying to protect a big lead that slowly dwindled into the final two minutes of the game. Brown is a risky WR3 option against Pittsburgh after the Ravens' bye.

Oct 18, 2020, 5:10 PM ET

Ravens WR Marquise Brown has the third most air yards in the NFL through six weeks.

Brown has racked up 674 air yards this season -- only Adam Thielan and Calvin Ridley have more. Brown, who has a 26 percent target share, is 20th in receiving yards and has just one touchdown through six games. Brown's downfield opportunities should eventually turn into fantasy production. Fantasy managers should try their best to stay patient with Brown, who will be a volatile WR3 play in Week 7 against the Steelers.

What are ROS thoughts on him?  Waiting on a 100 yards or a TD than going to try to flip him for a low end RB2. Thoughts?
