WR Mike Evans, TB (2 Viewers)

IF Evans plays (and the fact that it is a Monday night game makes it excruciating to wait), I think he is a MUST play. Detroit's backfield is depleted AND Branch is suspended for this game. It could be an offensive display Monday night at Ford Field.

Expected back at practice today per Rick Stroud.
And the journey to 1000 resumes. Hopefully.
Gonna be tough. He'll have to average a little over 78 yards per game and of course not miss any more time. His career average is 75 ypg. I'd take the under.
Based on when he and Egbuka were on the field with Godwin absent, I'm not optimistic that he meets his historical average....on yards OR tds.
I hear you but who exactly is in front of him right now, and I mean like right at this moment?
Egbuka likely is OUT on MNF this week
Godwin got on the field and looked like a shell of what he was at the start of 2024, now maybe it will get better but it wasn't looking good
If Evans were to come out and have 100/TD I would think he rolls right back to what he always does in this offense
Egbuka is not holding Mike Evans back right now, just my POV as a Bucs fan

I appreciate that you have a different view on this and you might be right but I'm going to put my faith in Evans that he can still make a major impact for the Bucs this season
Short term outlook is great as soon as he starts playing. Slight pessimism for the "balance of the season".

When you Google wrs that have had big fantasy games a picture of Mike Evans pops up. Some of you about to find out. Health. Rookie wr. Godwin. All the taking points. Blah blah blah. Tampa defense ain't great, Baker chucking it as good as he ever has, and Mike Evans is the alpha. Big finish for him coming. Imo

Except when Evans and Egbuka shared the field earlier this season, Egbuka looked like the alpha and Evans looked like a shell of himself.

Evans is drawing the coverage.

Is everyone confident enough to start him if you don't have any other alternatives to play on Monday?
Have no choice but too be confident. Season is slipping away. We are force fed the challenges with hammy injuries. Very tricky which leads me to believe that if he is a go he is 100%. Big game for playoff position in the NFC plus depleted Lions secondary makes this a decent spot. If there is a 2025 ROI on Evans it starts here. I cannot rule out a setback or coach speak and have contingency

Am I 100% confident? No. I have a high confidence level he will play and the matchup is so good I am rolling the dice. It definitely could backfire as I have no alternative at that point. My next player would be Bourne who plays Sunday night.

Have bye week and injury problems at WR, not many options, picked up one of the Johnson's from Tampa to hold the spot
if Evans plays then I will take him off IR and drop the other WR if not then I have someone playing

How are you even allowed to have Evans on IR?
Some league setups will let you put guys who are ruled out into IR spots once they’re officially “out” for a game even if they aren’t on NFL IR.

I put Deebo in an IR slot yesterday.

Love this feature actually. Helps if I only need a spot starter for a week and I'm not forced to drop a valuable player for a bandaid.

This is where it is important for leagues to have a weekly contingency thread. You can post a player to replace a player as long as you do it before either player's game starts. This really comes in handy for possible inactives on the late games or Monday night games. Frankly, I don't know why any league wouldn't have this.

We have 2 IR spots, rules in this league are if player is ruled out or was out last weeks game then they can go to/stay in IR
They do not need official NFL designation of IR to be placed there

There were too many times that players were injured, did not practice but stayed questionable all week blocking a roster spot
to be ruled out Sunday, meanwhile you could not pick up anyone all week and were not going to drop a good player either so
the commish came up with this to help things. Now if a player is in your IR spot and he plays you lose him, he goes back into the free agent pool

This is a short bench league only 14 roster spots so having 2 IR spots that you can use made things much better for the league

I like this caveat. It's a pain to have to take a guy that is going to miss multiple weeks but keeps getting switched back to Q on Tuesday. If you roll the dice and leave a guy on IR and then he plays you lose him. It avoids the issue of teams jumping between Q and O when guys obviously aren't playing and the stupid roster stuff you have to do for these situations.

This has worked out great for the league, good job by the commish coming up with this.

people were tired of the Q all week when you know he would be out, due to no practice.
It has allowed managers to manage their team fully

No one has not known their player in IR slot was not playing and made the move(s) needed to put him back onto the
regular roster.

OK, this definitely complicates things, but I'm still betting on him finding a way to get to 1,000 yards.

(In all seriousness, that was really disturbing to watch. Wishing him a speedy recovery.)

Sucks, but if they get him back the end of the year maybe his broken body can get through the playoffs. Could be a real benefit.

(I know most here just care about the fantasy implications but whatever).

Was hoping not for this, one team is totally screwed at WR now

Have that scrub BTJ, such a bum. He's unplayable and Evans been staying alive but now
have pretty much nothing resembling a top WR try to trade for one but doubt I can get something done
not much trading in this league.

A promising team done in by injury from Evans and scrub/bum BTJ

With Evens out most of season,Otton becomes a huge part of Tampas offense.,Both the Johnson's are skinny short wrs. . Giving Otton more RZ looks.

Godwin won't be himself until next year.
I see his nagging injury to be around all season.

Broken collarbone from what I see online, I doubt he comes back this season
Bucs might be deep at WR however Evans-OUT, Godwin-OUT, Egbuka was a little off last night but I think he will be a lot better next week, McMillan is OUT
Shep, Tez and the rest are all down the depth chart

Not many guys get carted away for a shoulder.
To me it looked like he was out of it from the concussion. The way he laid motionless on the field pointed more towards a head injury and being knocked out then the collarbone. He looked dazed and staggering as he was coming off the field. I think the cart was because of that.

Will he go on IR this week? Or is that not a guarantee?
Surely.

Clavicle fractures take anywhere from 6-12 weeks in most cases. Obviously severity, displacement, etc play a role. Surgery is rarely needed. I just can't imagine they're anywhere near considering putting him on the field at the 4 week mark.
