WR Rankings this week (1 Viewer)

Just taking a look at the rankings this week and I noticed that Bowe is about the lowest he's ever been this season.

Why?

Is Champ supposed to be back this week? Didn't Bly get hurt last week?

Thigpen is ranked reasonably high... so that makes it even more of a head scratcher.

I realize he had a bad week in 13... but so did Vincent Jackson and he plays the big bad Raiders secondary and he's ranked higher!

Someone please help me understand.

maybe I am missing something but I would rather roll with bowe than the 15 guys below him on those rankings.

No question he will be making a 10-15 spot jump in the rankings as they get tweaked in the coming days....just you watch. It's like they think he'll be covered by Nnamdi Asomugha again this week.

I have no idea. I would probably start him over TO @PIT this week.
Berrian seems low too. Not trying to hijack, and I neither own nor play against Berrian - I just noticed he looked low. They are calling him a weak WR3 at home vs Detroit.I think we will see some tweaks in the rankings.

Seems that Dodds believes that Bowe's gonna blow. And now you know.

I typically take these and all lists with a grain of salt, but I'd probably research myself why he might be ranked lower. Matchups, home field, history against a certain team, etc.

I like where Berrian is. MIN is going to run ALL OVER Detroit this week. I would expect the Vikings offensive output this week to mirror that of the Titans on Thanksgiving since the offenses are extremely similar. The only thing that may result in a good game for Berrian is if Detroit can score more points than normal this week due to the Vikings' defensive line issues now. I just don't expect MIN to be throwing bombs this week like Berrian benefited from last week. Just my thoughts, but I am thinking that is the likely basis for ranking him a lower than expected.

It doesn't look like you're going to be right. Bloom isn't very high on him either.I guess they think Champ can sit him down.... though I vaguely recall Champ shadowing Tony G when they've met.Bowe went for 7-85 the last time they met (week 4) and Champ was on the field. Huard was QB for that game.

Bowe has kinda been the forgotten man in the offense the last two weeks. Denver's pass D had a great week vs. the Jets WRs and Favre last week. I have him a decent WR2, but certainly not a must start.

Bowe gets a lot of his points in 4th quarter garbage time. I expect more of the same this week. And the fact that it is Thigpen and not Huard is a positive with the way Thigpen has played the past 6 weeks.Maybe they'll keep him as low as he is. I'm just not buying it. I am not saying he should be in the top 10 or anything, but I would think DEN has got to put some effort into slowing down Gonzo this week and while Bowe's targets are down the past two weeks I don't expect that the continue for the rest of the season. He'll get 8-12 targets one of these games again and I think this week looks like a good guess.Look at the next 10 or so guys ranked ahead of Bowe. I am sure the one or two of them who score might do better than him, but I just can't see recommending hardly any of them over Bowe this week.

Champ is likely out and Bowe jumps 28 spots in the rankings.

Well, apparently they disagree with you, and he should be in the top 10.
:yucky: Obviously I was surprised to see him jump 28 spots today as I said, but I attribute about half of that jump to Bailey being out. As bonesman said earlier, he already had a decent game against Bailey (with Huard at QB instead of Thigpen, who has been playing better) so that is why I was thinking he should have initially been ranked in the mid-20s. With Bailey likely out, I agree with the additional jump even if it might be a tad on the optimistic side.
