WR Rashee Rice, KC (9 Viewers)

Are people with waivers running today holding or are we assuming he is done and moving on before the "official" diagnosis?

ETA: I am leaning towards the latter.

I’m holding, even with a short bench and the Bye week starting. I’m gonna cobble together the best team I can.

If there’s a possibility he comes back, Rice is just too productive to drop without knowing how long he’s gonna be out.

well I only have a couple shares and in those spots I don't *have* to cut yet. But I mean, I'm not opposed to dropping now, hoping for some goodish news before next week, and then let my opponents take a shot with their FAAB. He won't be relevant this year again. Not holding hope here.

Holding until it's official
I wonder what the tests showed, or didn't show, that is holding up a diagnosis?
Could be they have to wait for swelling to go down to really assess the damage. Just a WAG.
I've heard that in the past, where doctors won't do surgery until the swelling goes down if they know it's a torn ACL, and I suppose in some cases, even tell if it's a torn ACL, but I don't know that.

I guess if you have him, you need to hold until a more known clarification is out there, but for a player relying on short area quickness like Rice does, even in a best case health scenario...I'd be surprised if he's back playing at the level he was weeks 1-3.

That’s tough for leagues with a Tuesday night waivers run. Dude in my home league is already sweatin it. He has 2/2 on his IR already, and it’s IDP so carrying dead weight isn’t a luxury, especially with the BYEs about to hit. 😬

This is usually the case.

I wouldn’t read a positive or negative into this delay yet.

Let the wild speculation….. BEGIN! :pickle:

Shefty says the MRI was definitely done yesterday. I don't know doctoring but would they have even done the MRI if they felt the swelling was too much?

Good question. If memory serves, I thought they always wait for swelling to subside before doing the MRI in order to be able to effectively read the MRI. "Insert Holiday Inn Express joke here".

Yeah, typically, it takes a minute to get a Dr.’s appt and by that point, swelling is bad and it makes it harder to read the MRI, and you have to get insurance approval and pay a deductible, so they’ll schedule it a week out with NSAIDS and ice to reduce swelling. And there won’t be any surgery, for sure, until swelling goes down.

But, this is an NFL player, with unlimited access to MRIs and the best orthopods in the world consulting in his case. My guess is the swelling was already bad enough that they wouldn’t say with any confidence what exactly the damage was. And he got a second opinion- and that wasn’t any clearer.

He is for sure missing considerable time. The Chiefs are probably in the same position as us FF owners of trying to figure out the best way to handle it.

But, like I said, I’m completely guessing.

EDIT: AND MY GUESS IS ABOUT AS GOOD AS THE EAGLES DEFENSE. I’LL TAKE DR.CHAO’S EXPERTISE OVER MINE ON THE MRI FRONT.

While Rashee is out, how will the WR targets play out? Through the first 4 games:
Worthy - 3, 4, 4, 4 = 15
Watson - 1, 2, 2, 3 = 8
Smith-Schuster - 1, 0, 3, 0 = 4
Moore - 0, 0, 0, 2 = 2

Your post would be more useful if.you also included Rice's targets. Kelce's too. Otherwise I would say they each get 100 more targets.

I was only asking how the WR targets would be distributed for the foreseeable future. Maybe something like?

Worthy - 30%
Smith-Schuster - 30%
Watson - 20%
Moore - 10%
Hardman - 10%

Again, it would help to know how many targets are up for grabs.

And excluding Kelce from the equation seems odd.

It doesn't matter how many targets are up for grabs. I am only trying to figure out who will get the targets. I guess I will ask it in a different way - if you had to start a KC WR in your FF lineup this week, who would it be? After you say Worthy, who would you say next? And next? And next?

Kelce 20 targets. Everyone else dividing up the other 10-15
I don't care about TE or RB targets. The ONLY thing that matters are WR targets. But now that you've said 10-15, how will those get distributed to the KC WR's?

Whoever is the hot hand will get 5-6. The rest will split between 1-3.

Hypothetical

All KC WR's are on the waiver wire, and you must select one and start him this week, because Jigsaw has your entire family and "wants to play a game with you". If you win, your family is set free. Who you taking?

ETA - You actually like your family!
