WR Rashee Rice, KC (8 Viewers)

I don't know why people are so up in arms if he serves his NFL suspension while injured.
Because it effectively means there was no punishment at all. A suspension while he’s not playing anyway = zero consequences for his actions.

That one shouldn’t be tough to decipher my dude.
I would assume that he would lose those game checks that he would otherwise be collecting on IR
If the theory is that he will be suspended at some point, then he is eventually losing the game checks either way.
Yes, so the implication that he isn't punished if he is suspended while on IR is false

So Von Miller gets suspended this week due to "allegations" that he assaulted his girlfreind.
... yet Rashee Rice, after being charged with 8 felony counts, civil suits filed against him due to personal injury from said felony, video of the felony before, during, and after, and what seemed to be an admission of guilt... (Rice turned himself in to police, admitted to driving the Lamborghini, and apologized for his actions)
and he gets an NFL "We'll get back to you. Now get out there and play. Your team needs you."
I don't understand.
Now there's a chance Rice serves whatever suspension he gets when he's injured anyway?
Between this situation and every game deciding call / non-call going KC's way, you can't tell me the NFL isn't pushing for the KC Swifties to win another SB.
This has been debated. I don't claim to know whether you're allowed to serve a suspension while on IR.
It's probably why they didn't put him on season ending IR.

If Rice resolves his legal b.s. the Chiefs bring him back from IR, he gets suspended, goes on to do his rehab anyway and the Chiefs get a roster exemption for the suspended player.

I believe it is perfectly within the rules and strategically brilliant.
Wouldn't that be something if the player nor the team suffers any NFL consequences from this turds 8 felonies.
Strategically brilliant.
It would be horrible.

He deserves to do jail time. I'm not sure how much but 8-12 months seems about right.

Serving his suspension while in jail, I can see having a problem with.

Didn't the NFL suspend Vick after he got out of prison?
I would be surprised if Rice did any jail time.
I don’t think so either
...rising...

First real update since the injury and the thread is quiet? Anyone buying the 6-8 weeks thing?
no. I think he's done for the season, but that's just my gut. I have no evidence to support that.

My gut says KCC is still investigating a "loophole" that speeds up Rice's legal issues and allows him to serve an NFL-imposed suspension while he would be otherwise unavailable anyway due to injury. And similarly, no evidence to support this.

Link? I just see mention that he "could" return in 6-8 weeks as one of the possible outcomes of his exploratory surgery which was (is being?) performed today.

It's not much of an update.

It's 🐂 :poop: that they don't know exactly what is wrong based on imaging alone.

The only surprising outcome will be if they find the Lindbergh baby in there.

Exploratory surgery seems like something they do when its not a torn ACL, but when something else that’s just as bad is going on and they need to get in there to diagnose it because there’s so much pain & swelling.

There are things not ACL-related that could also end his season. Knees are complex joints.

It could be 6-8 weeks, sure. It could also be the end of his season.

Locked into my IR slot in the one dynasty league where I roster him.
So now I just have to look forward to the inevitable suspension next year.

Onward!

So, Kelce, Worthy and...???
Adams, Cooper, Pickens, Hopkins, or even someone like Slayton. Need to get Mahomes a weapon.
Why would anyone in the AFC help the Chiefs?
Philly and Dallas make trades.
Washington and Philly just made a trade.
…as long at it helps you now or in the future, why not?
Everyone should refuse to trade with the Chiefs because I hate them. They are now the Patriots of yesteryear.

Well I took Mahomes in the 3rd and want my points. I benched him this week for Purdy and that did not go well. We get 6 points for passing TDs and tons of points for passing yards too. We do get -5 for each pick. Weird league that works.

I don’t care about your team :)

Looks like Ian's report and Adams are quite different. Smh
Both are saying the same key thing, likely done for the season.
Maybe I'm struggling to understand. One guy says out for season. One guy says 6-8 weeks. That's the same? Am I missing something?
The timeline went like this:
1. Reported they were going to go in & see what was going on. Optimistic possibility for 6-8 weeks was mentioned.

2. Went in, found torn LCL ligament, likely OFS.

It’s unlikely that Chiefs WR Rashee Rice will play again this season, but doctors will not know for sure until they perform surgery Tuesday morning, per source.

Sources: While #Chiefs star WR Rashee Rice’s season is expected to be over, he did receive positive news today from Dr. Dan Cooper.

So who has cut bait on this guy despite not yet being ruled out for the season?

All I can say is he was cut by 3 teams in some national type contests I play in last week. When I saw he was cut last Wednesday it had been my intention to try and pick him up off waivers if he was eligible(depends when you were drafted).

Now I have no interest in putting in a $1 bid and would cut him on all my teams. It's over this year.

If you're in a keeper league is he worth letting sit on your roster so he can be kept next year? It's a no penalty keeper league and right now my keepers for next year would be Lamb and either Rice or Hill. I think I'd prefer to keep Rice with Hill turning 31 before next season but I'd have to let Rice sit on my team taking up a roster spot because we don't have IR spots. If I drop him I would think someone else in our league would pick him and do the same thing I'm contemplating right now.

Keep in mind he will also be facing a possible suspension next year.

All depends on who you are dropping him for.

For the next year, fantasy experts/players across the world will incorrectly call it a PCL injury (ligament) while its actually a PLC injury.

I keep imagining what could have been this year if Mahomes didn't dive bomb his knee.
Well, the Chiefs are 15-1 and locked up the #1 seed in week 17 so...
It’s ridiculous that they’ve done this well 2 years in a row with a motley assortment of WRs.
I thought once Hopkins got traded to KC he’d give the, a bonafide WR1, but besides a big game here and there, his just another knife in the drawer. Mahomes and Reid are just so damn good together.

I meant for me personally.
Oh, I imagine there was limitless potential opening before your eyes, offering you a glimpse into a true, deep and complete understanding of the universe and legion opportunities of true happiness and fulfillment.

Stupid Mahomes.
