What’s fine? Another poster said they expect first round pick WR1 production immediately. That’s 8+ catches, 100+ yards, and a TD a week.
I'm not sure if you are referring to my post in that comment, but if so, I'd add a few things.
What I actually said was if I was drafting for ROS he'd be a first round consideration player, mid second at latest. ROS and immediately have different timelines.
Secondly he of course would not need to put up or average 24 points, what an 8/100/1 game would be, to be worth a first round pick this week or for ROS. That would make him the WR1 overall in PPR.
In terms of considering him a must start this week. I think most people are in 12 team leagues and many that have to start 3 WR or leagues like FFPC where you can start as much as 4. But let's just look at what it takes to be a literal WR2 right now in PPR scoring this week.
The current worst WR2 in PPG, WR24, is putting up 13.375. That's not a huge bar but that player is also Tyreek Hill and he's out for the season, at least. Also 3 more WR's in the top 24 are guaranteed out due to injury or bye week and a 4th(Johnston) is likely. Now to just be the worst WR2 on the season in PPR you are down to right around the 13 PPG mark. Including in that top 24 is a player whose value Rice hurts(Marquise) and two WR's I doubt many people would be starting over Rice(Tre Tucker and Addison).
Long winded point is even if you are not in a league were you can or have to start 3 or more WR's the bar to be a top 24 WR this week is just not high. You've been floating out that 8/100/1 number but 6/60 without a TD is pretty much the range.
So to me I think it's fair to wonder if he starts a little slow and also to think he'll never get back to that volume from his first 3 games last year AND still think he's a must start and someone worth consideration as a late first/mid second at latest for ROS especially with how many of the top drafted WR's are injured or impacted by injury like Tee.
