WR Rashid Shaheed, NO (1 Viewer)

If he’s a perennial 65–1000-7 player, I mean that is valuable but is it league winning? He’s a nice player in dynasty that can serve a purpose but I bet you can acquire him for less than what he is worth
His second year stats are very similar to Tyreek Hill's first year stats. He's fast, he's electric. He's the next Hill.

We can all make claims. Is he the next Hill? Almost certainly not. But to call him a "perennial" anything is ridiculous as the guy is just beginning his third season. And if you can get him for less that he is worth then I suggest you do so. No one is trading him in my leagues.

I think Shaheed can be for real because not only has his role changed, the offense has changed DRASTICALLY. I'm sure all of you can seen the reviews of the Saints new O under Klint Kubiak (or "Koobs" as the cool kids like to call him) - decidedly more uptempo with motion concepts to put the D in a mismatch; that and the O-Line are working to help Derek Carr time and options.

With Michael Thomas gone a lot of target were vacated and with A.T. Perry seemingly unable to secure the 2nd WR opposite Chris Olave, Shaheed has grabbed the opportunity and ran with it. He's averaging a healthy 67.2% of the snaps so far, only 10 total snaps behind Olave. He's getting gadget run plays to take adavantage of his speed. He even can make an impact on special teams if you league uses those yards. So far he's been the perfect WR3/Flex play on your team, and he has upside to possibly grow into something more if the Saints O/Derek Carr isn't a mirage.

I only got him on one team, but the player I've added who's a lot like Shaheed is Alec Pierce. Watching the Colts offense from last week was rough. Guys losing their footing, the drops, unforced fumbling in the backfield, all stuff that can be corrected instantly. Perhaps even getting Richardson to look off defenders more often & taking advantage of soft or off-coverage looks. To the positive, Pierce consistently gets open, really like both of these downfield threats. ESPN has reported that Pittman is dealing with some minor injuries.

Not necessarily league winning, but a good high variance guy to be able to plug in when needed.

I predict 3 / 55 / 0TD. I have no shares, so I'll happily be wrong, but he's being way too overvalued especially by casuals.

I also have Philly beating New Orleans outright. The party ends this week.

People are acting like this guy is Tyreek Hill. He's good, but he probably had his best two game stretch of the season and now he's going to put up a string of duds, imo.

"Rashid Shaheed and Jameson Williams were typically WR4 options with massive ceilings, but based on their underlying usage so far this season, they now offer a much higher floor and are fantastic low-end WR2 options."

The key is the expanded underlying usage for both. Getting used on short/intermediate routes, running plays, or special teams will raise their floor... I'm not sure they're at low end WR2 territory yet, but FantasyLabs believes what the sabermetrics say.

Sounds like you may be facing him today.

Talk to me after the game!!

so my league gives a good amount for return yards so figured even if bad receiving game i'd still get some points, anyone have any insight into why he put up a 0 in leagues w/ return points?

I can accept boom/bust, but I can't accept a goose egg when he busts.

Just traded him for Worthy straight up. I trust Mahomes more than Carr and Andy Reid more than Dennis Allen.

Debating between Shaheed and Kraft at flex. Both will be posting inconsistent numbers all year so it can go either way. Shaheed should normally put up better numbers, but Kraft’s matchup against Rams today is enticing.

That’s…not the best company lol. Aside from D Jax of course but even he was a limited player
Thought the same thing initially. Ginn and Goodwin were never a top two wr option, Stills was going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread until he got hurt repeatedly. Djax, like Shaheed, was a top option in Philly.

One to keep an eye on: #Saints electric WR/returner Rashid Shaheed did not practice today for a knee injury described as concerning, source said.

His status going forward is TBD.

Bub means CHOO-CHOO!

This really chews cheese, Shaheed was providing me the production I was expecting from Lamb. I don't have the means to replace him.... wait, I get it now, you're right, it's code! As backups, who other than Means would Rattler have a rapport with? Catchy name, great smile & personable, how it's done! lol

Maybe for the season, but I wouldn't roll him out this week. Thursday game agaisnt Denver cornerbacks. I'm expecting Kamara for 65 touches with a sprinkle of T. Hill and J. Johnson.

Edit. Didn't know Surtain was out. Still would be hesitant without a second AR to take away coverage.

I need a fix at my flex, I did place a claim for Pop Douglas but I didn't get him. I've moved Lazard & Alec Pierce for Means & Bateman... could be way off & I've always liked Lazard, big fan of Pierce's game too. But not this week. Bateman in what appears to be a good matchup, represents a floor play, the safer move.

Means has good size, but even better is his speed & catch radius with honking hands. Accordingly, a very good fit in Kubiak's version of the west coast offense. They had Rattler throw the ball 40 times last week. The guys they don't have up front they didn't have last week, they didn't run the ball very effectively, playing from behind & was sacked like 5 times. Below is a breakdown of Rattler's tape from last week.

some twitter doc says possibly 2-6 weeks, possibly season ending, they'll know after the surgery.
Read similar and hope we know something by my next waiver runs but I did already cut him in one league. If it's 2 weeks, or even 4, I'm going to be sore about that cut.

From what I understand it's best for his long term recovery to get the full repair which would put him out for the season. That was on my mind when I decided to cut him. Considering the health and record of the team and him only being under contract for one more very cheap year I was inclined to think that might tilt the decision more to trying to protect his future. Of course he might be thinking of more then just what's best for him.

But this is the Broncos. Broncos offense is not TB and aren't likely to put up more than 24 points. Plus, DN defense is much better than TB. The Saints were down huge last week and had to throw the entire second half. Don't see that recipe unfolding tonight. Again, I dotn mind him for the season as long a Shaheed is out, but not tonight drawing whoever the #1 DB is.
