Like they say though…I’d rather be a year early than a year late. The decline is gonna happen just a question of when. Meniscus tear is not great if that is what it is. Wide range of outcomes depending on the results. The swelling is a PITA and it all depends on how much is torn and where it is torn. A few different options for repair/clean-up.

Allen a no go. Rome removed from the injury report.
This was the dream scenario I was hoping for when I drafted him in a bunch of redraft leagues.
Now it's here and I'm sure not rushing to start him and looking at less then awesome options like Tee, Juedy or Rashid in the multiple leagues I have Odunze. What gives you the confidence on him this week or it just relative to your options?

based on the 1st 2 games I wouldn't have much confidence. Caleb is having trouble, thus so are the WRs.

Tee and Rashid are less than awesome? I'm firing up Rashid and I'm thrilled to be doing so. I'd be thrilled to fire up Tee, too.
Maybe you're thinking you want to feel like you're staring a Marvin Harrison or Malik Nabers-type guy, but Rome never really struck me as in their league.

I should have been more clear.
I have Tee on 5 teams and Rashid on 6. This out of 24 fwiw.
Regarding Tee, in 2 of those leagues I have no backup MNF protection in the event something does not feel right with him in pregame warmups. Secondly he’s kind of king of the dreaded early exit.
Rashid I’ve not started in any of those 6 leagues yet. They are using him in more varied ways so I feel a little safer starting him then before the season started, drafted him mainly for depth as I viewed him as a “better in best ball type”. Still can’t shake a little chasing points syndrome and in FF I’m an extremely unlucky SOB and feel like as soon I trust him it’s all going to blow up on me.
So my trust level in these two remains a little uneasy this week. I’m for sure a little hesitant to go All-in.
ETA- I had not seen Tee’s comments about being 100% this week when I made that post. That makes me feel better but this is also the same guy who said he felt amazing after he initially hurt his hamstring.

This is how I feel until I see it. My WR room in one league is decimated but I'm not comfortable rolling him out, just yet. Long term I believe but he and Caleb still have a ways to go.
Hopefully it starts to happen sooner than later but sometimes it takes rookies a while.

Makes total sense. All of it. Shaheed has been the beneficiary of two touchdowns where the ball traveled over fifty yards in the air. It feels like chasing points. And Tee did indeed nuke my fantasy team last year with the physical issues where he played like two plays and left the game.
So I get your wording. I thought it was more of situation where you thought really, really highly of Odunze in comparison to some surefire guys. (I've never thought Odunze was surefire, but he may well end up proving that totally wrong.)
I absolutely did before the season started. Saw him as a league winner type, would have felt super strong about that happening if I knew Allen was out. Obviously it's not all his fault, some health issues, but it's not been encouraging enough for me to feel good starting him with Allen out and that is not what I expected.

He's certainly got the talent - just not convinced Caleb has "got it" yet and will put up those kinds of passing numbers fairly regularly. Arrow is definitely pointing up for Rome though.

When I saw Williams sling it a few times on replay, man that guy can throw a pretty ball. Tight spiral, fast. It'll be a good fit for Rome.
Still don't know why people think the Colts aren't an easy defense. They look like one of the absolute worst in the league in all facets.

I disagree. Not to turn this into a Colts thread, but no one expected them to be that bad on run defense to start the year and they were. They looked good against the run yesterday, giving up 63 yards and 2.3 avg. Buckner is OUT, Brents is OUT, and Latu is banged up, but played. If the Colts can continue stopping the run, that plays to their strength I believe in rushing the passer and playing good pass defense. If they can't stop the run it puts them in a bad position. But they showed yesterday they can stop the run, for at least this week.

Did they sell out to stop the run? One reason that Williams threw for almost 400 maybe lol

They did, but I also think once they get more healthy they might be fine defensively. IMO they made strides yesterday, but they are not healthy yet on the defensive side of ball.
Now back to Rome Odunze.
If not the worst it's the simplest defense in the league with probably the least amount of in-game adjustments and pre-game strategy. This kind of defense only works when you have exceptional talent and it's ideal for a confused rookie QB like Caleb.
Any they seemed to have lost Paye with a quad injury (which is better than I expected as it looked like an ACL they way he crumpled with no real contact). Now back to Odunze

We hit the jackpot. First, Rome Odunze is a stud. Sprains his MCL but misses no time and two weeks later does this. Not only a great athlete and WR but tough to boot. Second, KA is already hurt which I don't think is essential ROS but helps at this early stage when Odunze needs to establish himself as a weapon the staff cannot afford to underutilize. Third, since they cannot run the ball Chicago is going to air it out all season long (currently #2 in pass attempts leaguewide). Fourth, Caleb is eager to take shots downfield and has no hesitation in throwing the ball up for grabs to Odunze.
I'm targeting Rome everywhere I don't already own him in redraft. He'll be a little bit boom-or-bust but I'll bet anything if he plays 17 games he'll finish as a top-24 WR this season. For keeper and dynasty leagues, wow is it nice to have this guy.

I disagree. If Odunze was in the 2025 draft I believe he would go after Jeanty and Judkins in dynasty drafts and probably after McMillan and Hunter. He would be right there with Henderson, Burden, and Gordon. He would definitely go before Egbuka, Bond, Stewart, and Brown. Just my opinion of course.

Not sure he'll overtake Moore any time soon, but I also expect to see some marked improvement as the season progresses. Not all rookie WRs hit right away and we as a fantasy community have gotten a bit too impatient expecting rookie WRs to come out of the gates strong.
