WR Tee Higgins, CIN (1 Viewer)

Lots of chatter in New England that Higgins will be the Patriots primary target in the off season, and they should offer him a 4-year, $130M contract with $100M guaranteed. I pray that's not the direction they go in. I don't see Higgins as a WR1 or worth anywhere near that amount of money.

Was good to see him active, production stunk, Iosivas looked better then he ever has but Tee had a shot for more his and his Qb's health have always been biggest factor with him so if he if that goes ok no reason to think his production won't follow.

Is it crazy to think if the Bengals don't start winning and things look bleak near the trade deadline he'd be made available?
Iosovas has certainly not looked better than Tee Higgins ever has. Not even close.
You got that all twisted and really should have been understood.
ah. i see. apologies.

I like Tee Higgins, and own him in a few spots, but man he has trouble staying on the field. That is the reality. Iosivas is no slouch. The guy worked his *** off all offseason and it is paying off. he might just end up a better route runner than Higgins. He's only going to keep getting better.

Crazy thing is, both Higgins and Iosivas could both be good. You can route for one and the other at the same time. Crazy I know.

For fantasy he needs to go somewhere that will pepper him with targets, especially if the QB is below avg. Ideally he goes somewhere that has a decent QB but also needs a #1WR.

To the bolded I'd just say if you are trying to make a case that Iosivas is remotely on par with Tee then the answer is yes.

I could see him and Josh Allen lighting it up.

Really don’t want to start him this week but what choice do we have? It’s either 3-40 for 8-100-2

So, here is a scenario if you need to convince yourself to play him:

CAR has done an oustanding job shutting down opponents #1s, in part due to Jaycee Horn's very good play at CB.

Game 1: Olave 2 targets for 11 yards
Game 2: Ladd and Palmer total 4 catches for about 50 yards
Game 3: Adams 4 for 40

Now the WR2 on the team went off

Game 1: Shaheed 3 for 73 and a TD
Game 2: Johnston's breakout 5 for 51 and 2 TDs
Game 3: Meyers 7 for 62 and a TD

So there ya have it. Must start for Higgins. Thank me later. If not this post never happened.

If CIN drops to 0-4 this weekend... anyone think they might try to move Higgins (before eventually losing him for nothing)?

CIN is quickly falling and I think it leans on the shoulders of Zac Taylor. My question is, how safe is Taylor and who's calling the shots? CIN ownership is so cheap they likely can't afford to fire Zac but they probably should. Zac is trying to save his job so he probably wants to keep Tee.

Iosivas and Burton waiting in the wings if Tee moves on. They likely should try to get something for him if the ship is going down. I'm not sure they have really given it much thought as they probably thought they would be contending.

Not this soon, not if they are 0-4, but I think it's possible if things don't turn around they'd look at it later but a few things to consider.

They can safely assume they'll get a 2026 third round comp pick so they will get something for him.

If they believe the season is shot his salary is both extra incentive to trade him but at the same time a significant obstacle which would likely limit the teams that can absorb his contract. I don't think you can convert a franchise tag salary to bonus to spread out the cap hit. His salary is prorated over 18 weeks I believe so that's right about $1.2m a week. So if you are Cincy and it's like after week 8 and they decided to trade him they'd save about $12M on cash and cap space but any team acquiring him would need that allotment and that could remove about half the league.

NE is the glaring obvious candidate if they got to this position from both a need, desire and cap space situation.

If Tee is traded he needs to go to a team with a good QB. We have seen what happens with WRs (MIAMI) when you don't have a good QB situation.

Just wanna point out that Horn was covering Johnston in week 2. All the other stuff is right though. Very possible he just got caught by surprise by Johnston.

Thanks for pointing this out. Interesting. Was he on Johnston for both TDS? I would assume he covers Chase this week. I am slightly worried for my Chase shares that Chase has a quiet game.

He was on him for the 29 yarder. The 5 yarder looked like zone and Johnston was between Horn and Xavier Woods. If I had to guess I think it was more on Woods.

I wouldn't be too worried about Horn yet. I think both the Olave line was more game script than anything else. The Adams line, the Raiders were moving WRs all over the place, and Horn was pretty evenly split between Adams, Meyers, and Tucker, though most of the game the Raiders tended to target whomever Mike Jackson was covering. Tucker's TD was against Jackson, and Meyers TD was when they got him matched up against LB Trevin Wallace.

I'd be treating Chase as a top-5 WR this week, and Higgins as a solid WR3. Its probably important to note the Raiders are the #32 pass defense in the NFL and have maybe the worst back 7 defenders in the NFL. I think people thinking Carolina is suddenly dangerous are gonna be really disappointed, and I think the Bengals offense will be on the field a lot more than the Raiders were.

Good is relative but we've seen tons of examples of QB's who excel with lesser QB's, including in Miami and I'm talking about what Tyreek did going from Mahomes to Tua.

That strikes me as an odd example. Mahomes is of course a better QB than Tua, but I don't know that you'll find many QBs who are better for their top 2 receivers production than Tua. Yes accurate, pretty aggressive at least in mid range passes, and seems to target his top guys a high amount.

Overall I'm with you though. I'm not too worried about Higgins landing with a QB bad enough to tank him. Most teams have a good enough QB to support a good WR.

If they do trade Tee they need a good player in return instead of a draft pick. They suck at drafting the last 4 years.

Who would we speculate would trade for him knowing they need to sign him for a large extension? I originally thought the Bill’s may be a good fit but they seem to be humming just fine without a primary guy.

Derrick Henry, Swift, Diontae Johnson

for

25 2nd (mid/early), 26 2nd, 27 2nd, 26 3rd, 27 3rd.

All the picks are mine bar the 25 2nd and my team is young and good so should all hopefully be late. I needed RB depth and want to compete this season.

Dynasty.. would u trade Higgins for 2 late 2025 2nd round picks?
Nope, but I’d buy him for that in a heartbeat.
Might wind up dealing Goff and Higgins for Daniels. Have Mahomes already and Higgins is behind ARSB Collins Aiyuk JSN and Dell at this point
Smash accept. And I like Higgins. Daniels is special.

(Rotowire) Higgins sustained a quadriceps injury during Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports.

Analysis: The Bengals will monitor Higgins throughout the weekend, but his status may come down to a pregame warmup ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. If Higgins is inhibited or unable to go, fellow WR Andrei Iosivas would be the likely beneficiary alongside top option Ja'Marr Chase.

Per Graziano pessimism he plays this week.

This sucks.

Here is the tweet btw:

Per sources, there’s a real chance Bengals WR Tee Higgins, who injured his quad in Friday’s practice, has to miss Sunday’s game against the Eagles. The Bengals are planning to go right up until game time before deciding, but there’s pessimism about his chances to play.

This dude I swear.
The main improvement this year is that he's at least got injured before the game(s) and not 5-10 plays into them.
This…is true.
Not so fast my friend.

He’s “feeling better” and “not dead yet”. The team says he’s improved, and will test it out pregame.

So there’s still time, and some optimism that he’ll hose all of us with a start/decoy game.

And won’t that be a real treat.
