WR Treylon Burks, TEN (1 Viewer)

Speaking Monday, Titans HC Mike Vrabel said he's unsure of how long Treylon Burks (foot) will be out.

Burks exited Sunday's Week 4 matchup in the fourth quarter, and was sporting a walking boot and crutches after the game. Vrabel said the team will continue to evaluate Burks, but it appears unlikely he'll be suiting up for Week 5 against the Commanders. Robert Woods could see a slight increase in volume with Burks now sidelined.

Treylon Burks (toe) didn't practice Wednesday.

Burks is reportedly dealing with a case of turf toe and is expected to miss some time, but how much is unclear. With the DNP to start the week, Burks is looking unlikely for Week 5. Robert Woods, Nick Westbrook-Ihkine, and Kyle Philips would handle the bulk of the wideout snaps in Burks' absence.

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said he wasn't sure if WR Treylon Burks (toe) would be activated for Week 10 against the Broncos.

Burks, who was placed on injured reserve in early October, is eligible to return from his toe injury. "We'll see how he is feeling," Vrabel said of Burks. "He has worked extremely hard to stay in shape and condition, take care of his body, lift. … I think this is the best he has been from the standpoint of handling a distraction. Whenever he is ready, I'm excited for him to get back out there." Burks had emerged as an every-down receiver in the run-first Tennessee offense before his injury. The target volume hasn't been there for Burks or any other Titans pass catcher this season. If Malik Willis continues to start for Ryan Tannehill (ankle), no Titans pass catcher is fantasy viable. Burks' path to 2022 fantasy relevance is a narrow one.

Treylon Burks (toe) said the plan is for him to play in Week 10 against the Broncos.

Burks added he will need to see how practice goes this week before being given the go-ahead. The Titans' offensive has become the most run-heavy in the league with Malik Willis under center, offering no fantasy floor or ceiling for its pass-catchers. Burks won't be a fantasy factor until Ryan Tannehill is back in the lineup.

I can't imagine anyone adding the WR group from the Titans. They're simply awful for FF. Not because they are awful in real life, but because both of their QBs are simply awful.

Titans activated WR Treylon Burks from injured reserve.

Burks was designated to return on Wednesday, with most reports pointing to his eventual return to the lineup in Week 10. The Titans have been sorely missing some form of upside through the air, which Burks most certainly brings to the table. Expect the electric rookie to regain a prominent role in three-wide sets against the Broncos.

Burkes didn't do anything w/Tannehill prior to getting injured so I just don't see him doing anything now that he's back. The TEN offense outside of Henry is simply atrocious.

I think he's a good stash for down the stretch in redraft. First few weeks he didn't get a lot of route participation, but was targeted a lot when on the field. His snaps were starting to go up to full time when he got hurt.
I wouldn't start him this week unless you're desperate, but I've got him stashed anywhere that starts 3+ WRs.

Treylon Burks caught 7-of-8 targets for 111 yards in the Titans' Week 11 win over the Packers.

Burks actually set career highs at half with six catches for 60 yards before breaking the century mark for the first time with a 51-yard basket catch down the sideline on the final possession of the game inside two minutes. Burks showcased his per-touch upside all night and was a key contributor to Ryan Tannehill's first 300+ passing yard game of the season. Fantasy managers that held onto Burks through his injury can expect upside WR3 numbers to end the season as a key contributor to the Titans' offense.

Is Burkes the golden ticket? I IR stashed him in 2 leaves and am now wondering if he’s my Cooper Kupp replacement

Is Burkes the golden ticket? I IR stashed him in 2 leaves and am now wondering if he’s my Cooper Kupp replacement

looked good last night - sky high utilization

only played 31 (of 64) snaps, 8 targets (14 last 2 games)

the preseason scouting was bit rough all around but the talent is there

the cap on the upside is fr though; Tannehill only has 3 WR TD passes all year, and 2 of them were to Westbrook-Ikhine last Sunday

TNF WR Snaps/Targets:

Westbrook-Ikhine 50 (78.1%) 2 targets
Woods 48 (75.0%) 7 targets
Burks 31 (48.4%) 8 targets
Hollister 7 (10.9%) 0 targets

64 plays 105 TE snaps - per usual, Tennessee was in 12 personnel a lot, and that's normal for that team

it's smaller pie so he'll need to be uber efficient to be solid FF starter

I do think he is complementarian to Woods, and the two chunk plays are an indication he's the more likely Titans WR to receive high ADOT, high value targets

last night was the first time since WK 1 he has had a reception over 16 yards, hopefully it's a harbinger of what's to come

No longer flying under the radar, especially with that last long catch that we all witnessed. If TEN can continue to stretch the field it only means more for Henry as well. Solid D. This is a playoff caliber team. I sensed they would beat down on GB and they did. He's available in many leagues and will be a high waiver wire target next week. Sky's the limit.

So I heard Matthew Berry say that he thinks Burks is a top 15 WR through rest of season. Does that sound right?

Not sure about top 15 - but I could buy in to WR2 most weeks - and a couple of splashes to get top 15

Its the time of year where some rookie or younger WR's emerge and make a run

Top15 seems a little high. It would probably take a bunch of long TDs to make it possible. I do think he’ll get enough targets to be a WR2-WR3 most weeks.

Burks caught a long pass at the end. It was payback for the other team doing something unsportsmanlike and...idc about that stuff so I didn't pay attention....nonetheless let's take that away.
If we do, he has made progress but not had a 100 yard game yet. That's about where I'd put him. He's coming along.
He often faces a teams top corner on third down and that's a huge ask for a rookie without much threats elsewhere.
He has to run routes far better. He's not getting separation or the littlest bit.
That said he's doing an excellent job using his body, showing strong hands, and winning contested passes.
The game looks so difficult when you watch him. It's not. He's working, the effort and the fight is awesome but make a better cut, have some fun out there.
He hasn't been able to beat safety help. Hooper woke up and Chig has been lining out wide, so the Ds are not lending a safety to help out.
The more you watch him, the more you realize what a big ask he's been tasked with as the only guy.
Phillips will return next week and he's Welker like in his perfect route running. Burks clearly did drills better when Phillips was around so I assume it's a good influence learn from others type scenario.
He still needs some time, which is fine. The Titans have been patient too and ....I don't see top 15. He's just not "beat a top CB" type great yet. That he could be, that offers an exciting future for dynasty.

How tough is this matchup with the Eagles this week? Hard to trust him this week and I'm a pretty big believer. If they can get Henry rolling I gotta think Burks is overdue for a TD. And especially if the Philly offense gets rolling as well and the Titans have to throw more. But their D really is nasty. I have so many tough calls this week.

My concern this week is that Philly can be run on with Jordan Davis out. Davis might be back, but if he's out I'd expect a low volume pass offense, even for the titans.
I do hate benching him while he's hot. I'm still on the fence with him vs Pickens/Rachaad White/Deebo (in separate leagues)

Treylon Burks (illness) did not practice on Thursday.

He was a surprise addition to the injury report with the illness. The bugs definitely appear to be going around the NFL right now. Burks should be fine for Week 13 against Philadelphia barring another DNP on Friday. He's got a chance to be on the questionable line. If he plays, he's a high-end FLEX or low-end WR3 option.

Treylon Burks (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 13 against the Eagles.

Burks was concussed on an illegal hit as he hauled in a 25-yard TD catch. The hit came early in the game, and Burks ended in Week 13 by catching 1-of-1 targets for 25 yards and a TD. Burks has a great matchup against the Jaguars in Week 14, but he'll need to clear the concussion protocol in order to take advantage of it.

He’s had a bit of a lost season with all the injuries but he’s certainly a guy I’m going to target next year. Hes’ got legit talent.

Burks being down looked scary. I think he was legit knockout out cold as he didn't move for almost what seemed like 3 mins. It was an illegal hit but didn't look intentional. One of those plays you had 3 guys going for the ball and receiver gets sandwiched inbetween with the 2nd defender trying to make a play and break up a completion. Just an unfortunate play.

Treylon Burks (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday.

Burks suffered the concussion after taking a punishing shot to the head while securing a 25-yard touchdown grab in the end zone. Eagles safety Marcus Epps, who delivered the hit, was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct on the play. Burks was ruled out later in the game. Burks has a few days to progress through concussion protocol but can be considered unlikely to play for now. If he is ruled out, Robert Woods and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine will be in line for larger roles.

Treylon Burks remains in the NFL's concussion protocol.

Burks is 12 days removed from a vicious head shot that knocked him out of the Titans' Week 13 game against the Eagles. He missed Week 14 and could very well remain sidelined this week against the Chargers. TE Chigoziem Okonkwo should continue seeing a solid number of routes and targets if Burks is out this week.

Can't remember any player being in protocol for 12 days. Makes you wonder if he might have had several concussions in college. Usually the more concussions in your history, the longer it takes to return to baseline.

It seems that a lot of players are taking two weeks to return now since the protocols changed. See Mixon as a recent example.

I think Christian Watson and Joe Mixon this year were both in for at least 2 weeks.

I also vaguely remember a bunch of guys last year too.

Treylon Burks (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday.

Burks took a shot to the head in the Titan's Week 13 loss to the Eagles and was sidelined in Week 14 against the Jaguars. Now 12 days removed from his injury, the fact that he's a DNP to start this week is a bit concerning. Players don't need to clear concussion protocol to return to the field in some capacity, so we'll see if he's able to log a limited session at some point this week. If he's sidelined for the second-consecutive game, rookie tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo would have some streaming appeal against the Chargers.

Treylon Burks (concussion) practiced on Wednesday.

This is significant, as Wednesday marks the first time Burks has practiced in any capacity since suffering a concussion in Week 13 against the Eagles. The rookie receiver has yet to clear concussion protocol but is officially trending in a positive direction to start the week. Whether or not he'll be able to suit up against the Texans is still up in the air, but even if he is active, he'll be hard to trust for fantasy purposes if Malik Willis draws the start.

That’s good news. Practicing is pretty far along in the protocol process. If he has no symptoms tomorrow, I think it moves to contact and then he’s cleared?

I wouldn’t trust him at all this week, but if he’s your potential #3 guy and you make it through to the finals, it would be nice to have a game to look at to see just how viable he is to play next week.

I don't think he's start in championship material.
Not liking his injury frequency as much as I loved watching his improvement BUT his year end stats aren't gonna be anything to write home about.
We're gonna have to drink in- best WR on team with meh WRs versus those stats for a rookie year- and decide where to rank him this off-season

I couldn’t do it with a backup qb.

Exactly

Am I crazy for thinking he could have a big night tonight. They are going to need to throw. Dobbs is an improvement over Willis.
If anyone on Tenn is going to have one I’d say it would be him. With no run game and a 3rd string qb vs a good pass rush it could also be really ugly. all comes down to options and risk level

Treylon Burks (groin) did not practice on Thursday.

His addition to the injury report on Wednesday stood out, and now the limited tag has been followed by a DNP. He's going to get a questionable tag at best on Thursday, and this is just awful timing for a Titans passing game that needs any big-play ability they can get. Mike Vrabel told reporters that he "thinks" Burks will be okay for Saturday. But if Burks can't go, Chig Okonkwo and Robert Woods be the primary target beneficiaries.

I think he's an interesting buy low at this point.

Season was a mess due to injuries--both his own and the QB position.
Nothing shinier than a rookie the year you draft them. Season ends and the shine is off the diamond. I'm going to send out some feelers.
