WR Tyreek Hill, MIA (9 Viewers)

Before I move him at his lowest value, I'd like to see a game with Huntley this week. Huntley can't be any worse then Skylar for Hill's value. At a minimum Hills value stays the same.

I remember Huntley coming in when L. Jackson was hurt and if I remember correctly he kept M. Andrews value afloat pretty well.

As an Andrews owner at the time I appreciated Huntley. Having said that he didn't seem to take many deep shots. He really focused on the short stuff. I ask if that was just using their best weapon in Andrews or is Huntley not one to take bigger shots.

I worry he will hyper focus shorter passes to Jonnu Smith and Achane. Again these are different systems and different players so we don't know what to expect other than hope... hope he can support Hill, Waddle and Achane.

That was the thing with Tua, is the offense operated well enough to support multiple fantasy players. Now we can't even get 1.

I'm my opinion it just felt like he was playing into Ravens scheme. Dolphins scheme is drastically different. Who knows how it would play out. For the sake of all Dolphins skilled position players ANYONE is better then Skylar.

In my little 10 team dynasty ($25 league that I kept for fun) I just flipped Monty for Tyreek.

I am super deep at RB. And gasping for air at WR

Why not.

Huntley starting per McDaniel.

It's got to get better right?

Right?
Yes. The hope for Hill in FF is volume with screens, end arounds, short passes, and potential for an off-script long pass. Plus Huntley keeping drives alive with his feet, which would increase the odds of a TD. Timing patterns where the QB throws well before the WR break should be off the board. Huntley showed good touch on passes to TEs in the end zone in BAL.

Just goes to show you how we take QBs for granted, until you don't have him for your favorite WR.
I've argued this for a couple years in the MIA thread where everyone wants to ditch Tua because he sucks. Now without Tua we see the team and how much they suck.

Tua kept that offense rolling allowing multiple fantasy assets to rostered and started. Hill, Waddle, Achane and Mostert. Now we can't even feel comfortable start 1 of them.

Really hope McDaniels gets creative and finds ways to get ball in his hands. Doesn't always have to be drop back and throw it as far as I can to Tyreek.

I feel this is coming in a big way. Must win, home game, MNF with a new QB. 12-15 touches.
Yeah, I've been puzzled by his lack of creativity and not saying this because of fantasy but feel like he's been overusing Achane and Tyreek can do a lot of the similar stuff but he's not using him in that way.

How can a deal to KC be worked out?
Why help KC? I remember when all the good players were rumored to go to the Patriots.
Its not a matter of helping them, Tyreek is probably in the process of falling off a cliff. 31 next year, and you are not a postioin to build around Tua as a team.

He should be traded somewhere. KC has the most obvious need but I'm sure many teams could use him, just figure he has familaitry with that system.

Washington would be fun.

WOW, make that happen!

Not to mention, how many more kids will he have before next football season..

Tua was a lot better than people thought. Nice to have a “system”, but you got to have reasonable talent. I saw a post on the Purdy thread where someone called him a “system” QB. How come Lance didn’t work out then? Why didn’t Skylar or Huntley light it up with Tyreek and Waddle?

So much talk about the Dolphins trading for a QB. Let's consider another thought for a minute...

Team is 1-3 now and going nowhere fast with a rudderless QB situation that could easily persist beyond this year.

Just looked up Tyreek's contract terms on Spotrac. If they trade him right now, they would have $0 2024 dead cap and ~$15 MM in cap relief, which could be rolled over to next year, offsetting $7 MM in 2025 dead cap... TL;DR, they could easily trade him right now, without any cap issues, and in fact, they would get ~$8 MM in 2025 cap relief as a result.

You know who could really use a legit #1 WR right now and would probably be willing to throw mid-round pick Miami's way to get a deal done? Brett Veach and Miami officials should be talking as I type this.

Will never be able to buy lower than this week.
How about last week? Only small small small positive i can gather from last night's game was, although Huntley was bad, he was better then Skylar had shown. Huntley had one decent throw at least. That one long ball just out of Tyreeks hands was better then ANY throw Skylar has had. Having said that, last night was embarrassing for an organization to put that product out there. Imo

ProFootball Talk says that the Dolphins would actually be taking a $41 million cap hit next year if they traded him now:

...Miami would be taking on a large 2025 cap hit if they trade Hill now: $41.8 million.

They also will have paid him an extra $24 million in August for however many games he’d play before a trade. (The deadline arrives the Tuesday after Week 9.)

For what you can get at this point the only option is to hold and hope Tua makes it back. At least he is a threat to house it anywhere on the field even if it is from running a reverse.

I disagree if dynasty. Hill still carries name recognition. In redraft that's another story, so I agree, hold.
I was speaking redraft. In dynasty I think you are still better off holding and hoping Tua makes it back.

In dynasty I would hold, but not for the reason you gave. I think they are to the point of moving on from Tua and drafting a QB. I fear for Tua's health.

Tua is expected back in week 8 of THIS season.

I know, that’s why it is best to wait imo. “Expected” is not guaranteed, but selling low on Hill now would be a mistake.
