WR Tyreek Hill, MIA (9 Viewers)

4 catches and 40 yards on 6 targets. Tua was dreadful. I'm guessing the O Line was dreadful seeing the 3 sacks.

It's just 1 game. But on the tail end of last year, I don't have the warm and fuzzies about his bounce back season.
It was announced on the Pat McAfee show that Tua actually had Top 5 pass protection of anyone on Sunday
I don't think he was under duress when he threw the interceptions

He'll be back in a Cheifs' uniform before the trade deadline
Amari Cooper netted the Browns a 3rd round draft pick. Would KC give a 3rd and a 5th?
Those types of picks can be easily replaced with other moves, if that's what it took, maybe just the lone 3rd
They need Hill and Tyreek needs out of South Beach

Has enough time passed that we can say I was right about this being a bad trade by by Miami?

Hill made the offense look amazing for a while, unfortuantely Miami doesn't have the leadership to handle a Tyreek Hill
-We can't have nice things in Miami when you have a Stephen Ross

It was a fantastic trade for Miami and brought a lot of energy around the team and for a brief time it looked like Miami was going to surge ahead
But they have a DUMB DUMB who is leading these 53 men and he needs to go and shoulda been fired already

It's always the guy you least most suspect.

ETA: Jokes aside, while Hill is obviously not going to win any Husband of the Year awards, I think we should always treat any accusations made during a divorce proceeding with a healthy amount of skepticism, especially when it involves a famous person. All sorts of charges get thrown out there for all sorts of reasons (eg, dragging the celeb's name through the mud in the media to put pressure on him to settle).

Agreed. With this being entirely a civil matter I would think/hope this will not lead to any NFL punishment- at least this season. But man oh man does this look like a ticking time bomb on a sinking ship.

I had an an auction redraft strategy to get Hill as my WR1 relatively cheap and try to load up on 1st, 2nd year guys. And in my snake I took him again when I shouldn't have. So dumb. I'm heavily invested in Tyreek having one last top 10 fantasy season and it looks HIGHLY doubtful for so many reasons.

Is he just done as an elite NFL playmaker at 31.
Can he stay healthy
Can Tua stay healthy
Is Tua really not that good at all
Is McDaniel an idiot
Will he be traded

The answer to each of these is more likely yes than know. And none of it is good for his fantasy outlook. Perhaps a speculated trade to the Chiefs would be best case scenario. But even there, I don't see any way he's traded to get anywhere near the targets.

That was the logic I told myself. MIA is such a concentrated offense and the upside appeal of Tyreek 2023 kept tapping me on the shoulder. Reality is, those days are gone.

NFL= Not.For.Long

Unless you're Derrick Henry who (SNF fumble aside) I'm convinced is some sort of Cyborg.

I have been telling the Shark pool that Tua is a turd going on 5 years.

The only fantasy asset this team has is Achane.

That’s it.

I recently found out that I know the ex wife's attorney. He belongs to my synagogue and is a nice guy; very low-key and definitely not the type of person you would picture as a celebrity divorce lawyer. I texted him after I saw his name in the paper and confirmed it was him, but I didn't ask for any details about the case, because I don't know him super well and he probably can't tell me much anyway

Hopefully, Veach is talking to Grier right now.
I don't see this happening.

Rice will be back after week 6 and I'm not sure the Chiefs have the dough to take on any of that contract. And honestly, the Chiefs need to keep as many picks as they can. This roster needs to be turned over.

I think Tyreek is entering his AB phase and any team that trades for him, even if they give up minimal assets, will live to regret it

Once again I'm tempted to bench him for Tillman/Meyers/Ridley types but I did that twice last season and he popped off for a good game both times. Tried like a madman to trade him in the offseason and nobody would take him. Just hoping Miami starts 0-4 or 0-5 and decides to trade him back to KC or somewhere else.

Well, he's still with the same team. I meant the phase where any team that acquires him betting that he still has enough talent to be useful comes to almost immediately regret the decision

The Bucs don't regret having AB on the team for a single minute
I can't speak for @Capella @Grahamburn @UncleZen @gump or the rest of my fellow Buccaneers around here but I don't think any of us regret Antonio Brown in a Bucs uniform
Glad he stripped down and left his jersey on his way out

Super Bowl Trophies are worth it
And...Keyshawn Johnson was a major league blowhole on his way out. Bucs signed him in 2000, made him the highest paid WR in the NFL at the time
He ends up arguing with Gruden on the sidelines in 2003 after the Bucs won the Super Bowl, very bitter relationship between the two of them.
Gruden and the Bucs deactivated him for the final 7 games in 2003

Ask the Bucs fans if they care when these WRs go off the ranch, could care less, just pop another Lombardi into the trophy case
You're good Jelly, I'm just offering you a different POV on all this
You're correct that likely all 31 teams right now are shaking their head on him but there might be one or two that would be willing

Washington has a boatload of cap space and even with Terry and Deebo, Playoff/Super Bowl windows are very small. Washington IMHO still has room for an explosive WR like Hill
Would change their offense around and open up major holes for the running game...I would be hammering Chris Grier and the owner to let him go

Do any of the Dolphins players actually respect that head coach … those lame gold glasses don’t help either … their O-Line looks like Swiss Cheese with all those holes

Daniels the LG exited with a pectoral injury, he's out for maybe a month
Austin Jackson a very fragile Right Tackle that has missed a lot of time, he left the game with an injury
Yeah their OL is pretty bad and YET...

According to PFF the Miami Dolphins were Top 5 in pass protection this past weekend

Yeah, Arians and Brady were able to keep him in check for a year and change. But the Raiders and Pats definitely regretted the decision.

As a Commanders fan, I don't want them going anywhere near Hill

trade is prolly best at this point. everyone says kc but the 9ers are just as much in need. contract has an out after this year. give the mullet a 3rd and they'll eat some of the cash. darkhorse is GB as they go further all-in

Not happening. WAS gave up next year's 2nd and 4th in the Tunsil trade so are lacking in draft capital. Especially with the oldest roster in the league and the need to build depth and get younger at almost every position outside of QB.

Hill's explosiveness would be a great addition but no way they commit more significant resources to the WR position after acquiring Deebo, extending Terry, and drafting Jaylin Lane who can give them an element of explosiveness in certain packages.

Tyreek is a luxury this team cant afford right now.

18 month window left on the Jayden Daniels rookie contract and then he gets extended for $75M a season or close to it
I'm just saying are we trying to win a Super Bowl or get younger?

That window will be squandered just like Houston has now done with CJStroud, you don't get these types of opp and I think Hill would cost them very little in draft capital
You're underselling Daniels ability to get Hill down the field on these long passes where he excels

It's not about having a good young team with lots of cap space and flexibility when you have a QB on a rookie deal who is being tossed around with Top 5 names
They just paid an old man more money than he deserves, he's not as explosive as Hill, not by a long shot

We can disagree but Washington would be an excellent spot for him to land and make a huge impact

A lot of assumptions here that are off-base from my perspective but not worth getting into. As a fan sitting on my couch, I would love to flip a 6th or 7th rounder for Hill.

I'm just telling you why I don't think it's happening. Despite you thinking WAS had a "terrible offseason" without explanation. I think they had an excellent one. Time will tell.

Of course the goal is to win a Super Bowl but you also have to build your roster. The team has zero depth thanks to Rivera's multiple years of terrible draft classes. So it's not about getting younger with lots of cap space. It's about being able to sign FAs and find guys on rookie deals who can contribute now, like the Eagles have done so well. Yes, they should be looking at any and all upgrades they can before having to pay JD5. I think they are doing that but it also has to make sense. If and when Hill does become available, I trust Peters to do his due diligence. But again, just telling you why I don't think it's happening.

And if HOU is squandering their chances on Stroud's rookie deal, it’s because they failed to address their O-line in a meaningful way. WAS did that with the Tunsil trade and a 1st round investment. Last offseason, Houston was pretty aggressive in bringing in Mixon and Diggs, they spent money on a pro-bowl DE in Hunter. They had injuries, the O-line stunk, and Slowik was overrated as a play-caller. Yet despite it feeling like they regressed, the made it to the AFC Final Four along with Mahomes, Lamar, and Josh Allen. So, if that's a failure, there are 24 other teams in the league who were wishing they failed like that. They swung and missed, if you want to even call it that.

If WAS were to take a swing on Hill, I'd be all in. But IMO, its not something the front office is going to think is in the best interests of the team. ETA- this front office also talks a lot about character/culture. IMO there is too much made about the off the field stuff. But its another reason I don't see them bringing a guy like Tyreek in mid-season.

Didn't watch the game but saw the highlights including one of Tua's bad throws to Hill on a crossing route near the red zone. Hill was open; if that throw was more accurate we would be looking at a different line if Hill was able to take it to the house (there may have been a safety on the other side - I did not see).

Surprised to only see 6 targets, but in that one clip it seems Cheetah is still able to get wide open.

Still hopeful and not ready to write him off. Perhaps this is a great buy low opportunity.

I’m holding in a distance TD league right now….not super optimistic, but in this league if he is in the right sitch, he’s fantasy gold

That was part of the appeal of how I ended up with Hill in my two main leagues that reward 40+ yard TDs.

But he hasn’t had a catch of more than 30 yards since week 1 of last season.

I didn’t see enough of the game to know the really level of concern here. 4 for 40 in and of itself isn’t that bad. Pretty much every WR1 will have weeks like that.

My sense is that the the pessimism is more due to MIA looking like a dumpster fire overall and the off field drama with Tyreek.

But I would like to watch the actual game and see how he and Tua looked with
my my own eyes.

I’m hoping there’s still a chance….
