"Legette looked noticeably more comfortable running routes during Tuesday’s workout. He glided on crossing routes and made clean catches. He said he got a screw put in his foot as part of a minor procedure in the offseason."

Remember after Quentin Johnston's rookie season when everyone called him a bust? And then the team drafted Ladd McConkey, which allowed QJ to see softer coverage and use his athleticism to rip off big plays?
I think Tetairoa McMillan will benefit Xavier Legette the same way.

"Legette is going to be used quite a bit this year. While the Panthers need to figure out how often they’ll use Thielen and Renfrow, it’s pretty clear that they want McMillan and Legette to lead the charge now and for the foreseeable future"

I keep thinking about how Quentin Johnston took a huge step forward last year when Ladd McConkey could draw the primary coverage. I could see Legette benefiting similarly from McMillan.
The thing about Johnston is that his numbers looked OK because of opportunity. There wasn't much competition for targets, he had 91 targets but only 55 receptions for 711 yards. 12.9 yards/reception isn't great for a deep threat. As a 1st round WR, I would still call him a bust. He still hasn't really learned how to catch.Dave Kluge

That's great
I think it'll be Tet, Thielen, Coker, and Legette in that order. People seem to be out on Thielen due to his age but Young loves to throw to him. I think he could be a value especially in PPR. The Panthers drafting Tet at 8th overall when they had great needs on defense stood out to me as a resounding vote of no confidence on Legette being the guy they hoped they were getting. Heck, draft pedigree aside, I'm not sure at this point that Coker isn't the better option for the Panthers than Legette. That's great
The Panthers have a WR with lots of experience that tends to catch the football on 3rd down
Old guy that nobody wants but has had strong number his last 2 years in Carolina
He likely would have had 1,000 yd season if he hadn't missed half of it last year
Nobody likes this guy and I can't understand why![]()

He's cheap and pretty reliable. Let's see who Bryce is looking for out there when he needs a first down or trying to extend the drive further into enemy territory
He's gonna throw to whoever is open and will catch the ball...Tet, XL, Coker, it doesn't matter but i think Thielen is just being looked at as if he's gonna sit on the bench all year
Not happening and if he were being sat down or lowered on the depth chart he would ask for his release or a trade out of there

I am tentatively on team Legette. I think McMillan, Legette, Thielen start and get the most targets with Coker mixed in everywhere. I do agree if Legette loses snaps, it would be to Coker's benefit.I think it'll be Tet, Thielen, Coker, and Legette in that order. #Panthers WR Xavier Legette is poised for a Year 2 breakout, teammate Jaycee Horn told me on a recent camp visit to Carolina:
“He’s got the ability to separate. Reminds me a lot of A.J. Brown, how tough he is at the top of his routes and how fast he is at his size. Even when you get a good jam on him, he can knock it down and still get his top speed. He’s real physical and real fast.”
Coker will send Legette to irrelevancyOnly 3 receptions for 10 yds. The 7 targets was at least somewhat promising but I feel he's better left for 14-team leagues or deeper at this point.
McMillan looks to be the real deal (yes i know its only 1 week) & Legette seems to be a distant 2nd (or further) in the pecking order.
