WR Xavier Worthy, KC (2 Viewers)

once again....many in here quick to pass judgement on him and the franchise before having all the facts.....

Haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate
Worthy just has to shake it off and focus on next season.
Hopefully this summer will be less cruel. Better bundle up with his cardigan until then.
Everyone (allegedly knew) he was trouble when he walked into KC

I passed judgement based on the initial arrest report that there was evidence that he strangled her… so that seems like enough relevant context for some judgment to be passed.

I’m just sayin.

That he’s a wealthy player and maybe her meal ticket and this all sort of went away as often happens in pro sports makes me think no less that he probably strangled her & got away with it.

.....agreed ....some people can't help themselves from jumping to conclusions without all the information,.....they prefer to make quick snap judgement hot takes without letting the process shake out....just like they did when Hill's crazy fiancé said he broke his son's arm....when in reality she later admitted to making it up and trying to set him up.....as it turns out after investigation the evidence actually showed that she tried to extort Worthy...and Worthy was actually the victim (she scratched him and pulled out some of his hair).....but your initial reaction and overall attitude is pretty common.....

Tune in next week for another episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.

I’d actually forgotten all about it until i saw your post. So that’s how much I cared.

I was merely saying my initial judgement wasn’t based on “nothing”. He was arrested & the police said she had signs that her breathing (and circulation) were inhibited.

Maybe that means she uses a CPAP & he cut the hose? No idea.

I’m just saying I didn’t jump… to conclusions.

Hey, my 2nd office space reference today. A new record!

my bad....you said passed judgement....not jumped to conclusions... ....the initial reports/facts/arrest were wrong according to witnesses......charges getting dropped had nothing to do with money or status as like many including you eluded to.....she cheated on him, was asked to leave the house....refused....went apeshit and assaulted Worthy.....he cut her a break and decided not to press charges....sounds like he actually handled things they way most would want him to considering the circumstances that led to the incident.....many might not have handled it as well and may have taken things too far...

et: I use a cpap....that **** ain't funny....lol

Are you saying you think he's lying? Or that you think he's telling the truth but should get over it?
He should let it go and focus on football. She obviously doesn’t have any assets. Waste of time and has to be disconcerting. Best to get the crazy out of your life.

As far as the other part, no opinion.

Imagine if someone were to say a woman claiming to be extorted and abused needed to focus on her work and not worry about it.

If she was rich and the dude was poor and she was suing him, I would say the same thing.

Fair enough, I guess. I suppose it would be different if it were criminal charges.

Wasn’t the initial allegation against him (from her)? It seems like this is just a reaction from him for her attempting to drag his name and career through the pooper. I may not have all the details, but can understand the frustration if that is the case. Hardly an AB move imo.

No, he shouldn’t let it go. He should sue her for whatever little that she has. Totally uncalled for that he was arrested because of her lies.

Yeah, the AB comparison was unfair on my part. I just think he is best off letting it go and moving on.

Yeah, waste time and energy teaching her a lesson. That will show her!

That’s what lawyers are for .. He’s not stopping his training so he can show up to court every morning.

this is kind of where I am at....plus it might send a little message to future gold diggers....you can't just do stuff like this...

It's still a distraction.

Just let the crazy woman go away and get her 100 percent out of your life. But who knows, maybe this is a way to keep her in his life in a weird, crazy way. I remember the Rueben Foster situation when he came up with the 49ers. Kept going back to a toxic relationship. Some guys like that stuff

That is the much larger point to me. "Just moving on so as to not be distracted" is tantamount to saying "go ahead and do this to other people." But again that would be more relevant if this were a criminal case.

I mentioned this is in the Rice thread, but Worthy's late year success was mainly because he was running Rice's shorter routes in his absence. Teams have not been allowing the Chiefs to throw deep too much the last couple years. Worthy will be money in whatever weeks Rice is suspended, but I would temper any long term hopes of consistency for Worthy until the Chiefs show they can get back to the deeper passing game. I expect Rice to resume his role whenever he plays.

While I agree with some of this (mainly X’s reason for late season success last year) there is absolutely a case to be made that with Rice’s return, and likely return to success in that role, it will open up the top of the D as they have roll safeties down to deal with Rice.

I think the consensus analysis on Worthy is incorrect.

Many attribute his success solely to switching roles without recognizing how difficult it is for a receiver to switch from a deep threat to a focal point underneath mid-stream on a team eyeing a 3-peat and getting everyone's best shot.

Worthy has shown he is lethal as a field stretcher and also after the catch. Once that genie is out of the bottle, you don't just pigeonhole him to running nine routes.

Surprised there isn’t more discussion of Worthy. He’s been steadily creeping up my board the last couple weeks.

Now with more clarity on Rice’s suspension I fear the value won’t be there but still targeting.

I’m really high on 2nd year WRs like Worthy, Odunze, and Pearsall breaking out this year. Would not be surprised if each of them establish themselves as FF WR2s this year (top 25).

Potential WR1 numbers for the first several weeks. After Rice comes back, does he drop to more of a WR 2/3 for fantasy?
Probably a WR 4 due to Kelce and Brown. Hell, they've even been talking up Tyquan Thornton as having a role. I assume Worthy will only put up WR2/3 numbers while Rice is out.
A WR4 when Rice is back?! I wouldn't count Brown and Thornton as having too much of an impact and I think the Chiefs throw a lot more this year than last year.

I'd say WR 1/2 first 6 games, WR 2/3 after that.

I could not disagree more with this take. His role last year after Rice went out would seem to suggest otherwise rather strongly.
You don’t think he’ll see more targets without Rice?
Whoops, I might’ve clicked reply to the wrong post. I completely agree with you.

It was the statement of WR4 that I disagreed with. Sorry about that.
