Wrangler Jeans - Now I get it (1 Viewer)

I don't get the whole "stylish jeans" thing. Jeans are jeans, style shouldn't be associated with them. I bought 3 pair of Kohls knockoff jeans for $10/ea on sale, been great. #### some style
You never went to a club in jeans?
Yep, all the time...in Levi's. Those considered stylish or just jeans? Asking for clarification.
im not a ####### fashion guru. Im just answering your question as to why people would wear stylish jeans.

This thread is hilarious.

I have always been a Levi's guy. Well, I guess I started out as a Toughskins little guy.

Due to all the years in the gym in the squat rack, I have tough time finding jeans that fit. My butt and thighs are large. The topic of jeans not fitting right has come upa few times in this thread but I have not seen anyone give jean suggestions to help. Levi 569 jeans used to fit right but they seem to be cut differently these days. I need an inexpensive but not generic jean to wear to work occassionally or to do actual physial work. What are the best options?

I think the last time I bought myself a pair of jeans was back in the mid 90's. Always just wore whatever the girl I was dating at the time liked. Never was a real big deal. It just seems that in the last 5 years, jeans have started fitting differently. I blame the Hipsters.

Any new pair of jeans I buy seems to be too big around my waist but too tight around my crotchal area and upper legs. Either that or I feel like I'm wearing hip huggers.

I don't even know what type of jeans I have and I wear them almost every day. Wife buys them as needed.

Just checked: Calvin Klein, Alfani and Clairbourne.

Clairbourne?!!?? Am I wearing women's jeans!?! WTF!

Good night, go out and get some man's jeans. You should skip Levi's and go right to Wranglers, IMHO.

How do you go 20 years and not buy jeans? Do you buy any cloths yourself? Did your mom dress you as a kid?

See my second sentence. My wimmens would buy the jeans they wanted to see me in.

Yeah, I don't really care about jeans. As long as they fit and are comfortable. I usually buy my shirts, although my wife will buy some on occasion.

So what's the deal with these things? I always say jeans are becoming less comfortable nowadays. So much so that on Casual Workdays, I still prefer to wear slacks because the jeans aren't very comfortable. I just want to know why there's such hatred for these things? Anyone own a pair?

Can't answer to why your girlfriend doesn't like Wranglers but if you don't like wearing jeans then no problem! Jeans are pretty much all I wear but if mine has an idea to dress me in something then that's good too so long as it's comfortable and doesn't bind. If it doesn't wear well it won't last long.

I see you pretty much just said the same thing above.

Don't get me wrong, I used to prefer jeans. I wear jeans to work on Mondays, Fridays and some Thursdays. In the cold months, pretty much all I wear is jeans. My issue with jeans is that they don't seem to fit like they used to. Not sure what the deal is with that. I had about 3 pair of jeans that I loved, but after I lost all of my weight, they were like circus tent size to me. Had to get all new wardrobe. I'm just still looking for a pair that is comfortable to sit in all day long.

My current jeans are great for walking and moving around. But sitting is the problem. I feel like I always have plumber's crack and I have to wear a belt so tight it digs into my gut.

This thread has made me want to purchase a pair of Wrangler jeans...

I'll report back with my findings...
Wrangler Men's Rugged Wear Relaxed Fit Jean $22.19 through Amazon.. ordered
I'm not even joking when I say I'm jealous right now. I expect a fully detailed review back here after you've got a chance to take them out on a couple test drives. I might just buy a pair based on your findings, GB.

Same here. I'd say about 50% of my shirts, I've bought. I'm not really into fashion. My philosophy is if I look good for my woman, that's all I need. So why not let her pick what she likes seeing me in.

you need to find a brand or style that fits you better. they are all made differently.

Well, sure. But that's kind of what I'm asking here. What kind of jeans are the people of the FFA wearing when it comes to a good pair of jeans. And by good, I'm not talking about the expensive ones to go out clubbing. I'm looking more for a nice fit and durable.

I don't think it's a question we can answer for you. You probably need to try them on first.

I'm just asking for suggestions of which jeans to go try on. Figured I could narrow down the search before venturing out.

If you are ever going to establish who the man in the family is, I think this is the issue you are going to have to take a stand on. Go out and buy a pair of Wranglers and wear them around the house once a week.

Establish I'm the man by showing her that I'm in charge of men's fashion?

First they came for my t-shirts.

Then they came for my shoes.

You know how this ends.

It's wears the pants, not buys the pants.

He's saying you need to wear the pants. I think.
I do. The ones she buys me.
Before you even suggested getting a pair she said 'No'. Obviously she thinks she runs you. If you can't even pick out a pair of jeans to wear, what does that say about your position in the hierarchy of this relationship?

Pick your battles. Do I really need to win the Fashion War?

You are riding the slippery slope to cuckoldem.

Because you do wear fancy jeans. It starts off with something simple, like the choice of jeans. Then it becomes the shoes. Next thing you know she is having sex with other guys while you tape.

Well that escalated quickly.

Shiek,

I was hoping someone would give some examples of jeans that they have found to fit the thighs better. Instead we are still discussing Wrangler jeans. Belljr's link shows some loose fit cargo pants and jeans that may work. The pants only cost $22 and can be donated if they do not fit.

I hate buying clothes. Clothes seem so boring. My wife knows this and buys me all clothing. She likes clothes and spending money. I hate clothes and spending money. That is a win/win.

broseph, I have to buy loose and a size too big because of my legs and butt. Even in the best shape of my life I need a size bigger. I'm not fat but could stand to lose 20.I'm a 34 waist but need 36 pants

I can't believe you guys let your S/Os buy you jeans. I am very particular when it comes to my jeans and how they fit. Granted, I hate shopping for them, but they have to be comfortable because I am in them all day so I have to try them on before buying.

That said, I have had the best luck with Gap jeans or Old Navy. I refuse to spend more that $45 on a pair of jeans though.

It is getting harder in general to find jeans that fit me well as I get older because I don't want to be like these young punks who let their jeans hang off their ###. I always though plumber's crack was a bad thing?

I'm not very particular with jeans but if she bought uncomfortable ones, I would tell her and start buying my own.

I don't get the whole "stylish jeans" thing. Jeans are jeans, style shouldn't be associated with them. I bought 3 pair of Kohls knockoff jeans for $10/ea on sale, been great. #### some style
Bingo.

You either wear jeans (Levi's, Wranglers, Old Navy, etc.) or you're a metrosexual with too much money and have jeans with all sorts of embroidery on the pockets. You probably also wear dragon shirts.

Not true at all. I just looked, none have any embroidery. She knows I hate that. I wore Wrangler's Lee, Levi's for most of my life. I probably would still be wearing them if I was buying them, but these are so much more comfortable. Maybe they're not as rugged but I'm not a plumber, truck driver or machinist anymore.
