Compared to the other 2 drafts, I think ours has gone pretty normal. I think that is a good thing, but after last year, who knows.

Starts that I like.....

1.01 Pictus Cat - Adrian Peterson -- RB1 -- MIN

2.16 Pictus Cat - Reggie Bush -- RB17 -- NO

3.01 Pictus Cat - Wes Welker -- WR13 -- NE

If Bush comes back, Pictus cruises in this league.

1.05 restless natives - Brian Westbrook -- RB5 -- PHI

2.12 restless natives - Roddy White -- WR10 -- ATL

3.05 restless natives - Jason Witten TE2 DAL

Witten is a steal, Westbrook a top 3 pick when he plays.

1.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Larry Fitzgerald -- WR1 -- ARZ

2.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Steve Smith -- WR8 -- CAR

3.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Antonio Gates -- TE3 -- SD

Gates and Smith were huge values, Fitz is a monster. He's got enough juice to overcome no RBs

1.10 Domination - LaDainian Tomlinson -- RB9 --SD

2.07 Domination - Calvin Johnson -- WR7 -- DET

3.10 Domination - T.J. Houshmandzadeh -- WR15 -- CIN

Huge potential on this team.

3.13 beachbum - Phillip Rivers -- QB3 -- SD

1.13 beachbum - Andre Johnson -- WR2 -- HOU

2.04 beachbum - Brandon Marshall -- WR6 -- DEN

Torn on this team. Liked the stud WR/WR, but the rivers pick may hurt later.

1.15 Waybackwhen - Frank Gore -- RB13 -- SF

2.02 Waybackwhen - Reggie Wayne -- WR5 -- IND

Back to basics, two guys that went much higher last year.

Starts i don't like

1.02 wraith5 - Matt Forte -- RB2 -- CHI

3.02 wraith5 - Thomas Jones -- RB18 -- NE

2.15 wraith5 - Tony Gonzales -- TE1 -- KC

Not sold on Forte and think Jones peaked/over achieved this year.

1.03 oldfatguy - Deangelo Williams -- RB3 -- CAR

3.03 oldfatguy - Pierre Thomas -- RB19 -- NO

2.14 oldfatguy - Anquan Boldin-- WR12 -- ARZ?

Wow, two RBBC picks. Will be some rough weeks.

1.11 Nugget - Clinton Portis -- RB10 -- WAS

2.06 Nugget - Marshawn Lynch -- RB14 -- BUF

3.11 Nugget - Larry Johnson -- RB22 -- KC

Will have to make up ground to the field as one of these guys won't count every week. Solid drafting later could alleviate this concern.

2.03 Sinrman - Drew Brees -- QB1 -- NO

1.14 Sinrman - Steve Slaton -- RB12 -- HOU

Hard to put my finger on it, but something doesn't seem right here. Probably shouldn't be on this list.

1.16 ShadowMaster - Randy Moss -- WR3 -- NE

2.01 ShadowMaster - Terrell Owens -- WR4 -- DAL

Ouch. If you draft Moss, you can't take Owens. Stud WR/WR can work, but don't take two guys who can disappear at times in a ppr league.

If you have to start off with IF desricbing a team... is that team really the best team?

Back to basics, two guys that went much higher last year.
If you have to start off with IF desricbing a team... is that team really the best team?
"Starts that I like"I think the risk at 2.16 for what should be a first round output is more than acceptable.

2.05 JuSt CuZ - Peyton Manning -- QB2 -- IND

1.12 JuSt CuZ - Marion Barber III -- RB11 -- DAL

3.12 JuSt CuZ - Braylon Edwards -- WR16 -- CLE

Peyton Manning is always the best QB every year and a 1st round talent.

Marion Barber is a lock for top 3 RB, hence the III.

Braylon Edwards is a top 3 WR lock.

ADP is an overrated RB known for his rare big games but merely ground out meager #s in 08.

Bush has his best games behind him from early 08 and is on the downhill of his career typical of an aging RB.

Welker was a novelty trick player easily countered by defenses and has little value in PPR leagues or other wise.

Your team's the best, the BEST!!! :P

I didn't think we started railing JuSt CuZ's team last season until at least round 6.

He has been a little quieter this year. But these last few days have been painfully slow.

JMills - Not the strongest QBs in the world, but the two together should be decent points each week at least. IF Addai bounces back, that could be a strong trio of RBs. WR and TE are nice, too.

CommuterMan - Nice, young duo of QBs. Should get some decent points there each week. If Maroney can finally live up to his potential (or at least what he was drafted for), then that could be a very nice trio of RBs. If Colston stays healthy, and Ocho Cinco snaps out of his 2008 funk, that should be a very nice trio of WRs, too. TE, meh...

Jeff Tefertiller - Down on Delhomme after his crappy 2008, but hey, he's the backup behind a solid McNabb. Even if Donovan continues being streaky, Jake should be able to fill in from time to time and get decent points out of that position. At first glance, I didn't like what Jeff did at RB, but he did lock up the Baltimore RB, minus Ray Rice (who will be used sparingly again in 2009 methinks). VERY very strong WRs and TE.

Waybackwhen - Very strong duo of QBs. I suppose he's trying to ensure maximum points out of the QB position with these two, since two high picks were burned on them. We'll see if it pays off. Nice duo of RBs. I would have taken Grant right before Waybackwhen if I hadn't been a tool and missed my pick ( :hophead: ). Problem here is lack of depth at RB. Waybackwhen is going to be reaching for his depth now. If Williams can settle in Dallas better, this could be a decent group of WRs and TE. Little early for DEF, but hey, if you're going to do it, why not take the top one?

Nugget - Good choice at QB. But no backup at this point means he's going to be reaching big-time for a backup (hardly any sure-fire starting QBs left). Could come back to haunt him. Great, great trio of RBs. As long as LJ stays healthy, he'll ensure lots of points at the RB position each week if Lynch or Portis falters. At first glance I really liked the WRs, but who knows what will happen with Ward? Retire? Is the injury more serious? Will Holt bounce back? The others I like. Great youth and potential. TE? Meh...

Brutis - QBs have potential. Never been high on Eli, but he's steady at least. If Cassel winds up starting elsewhere (or has to sub in again for Brady), this could be huge. If he ends up being Brady's back all of next year, it could be a wasted pick. Big gamble. Decent backs. Felix Jones was a nice pick. I was hoping people would forget about him and let him fall a little further. WRs are a gamble, but some potential. I like the Crabtree pick. I think Seattle (likely destination) will use him a lot and bring a bit of a resurgence in Hasselbeck. I like Evans a lot, and have him in several leagues, but his lack of TDs hurt big time and has me a bit concerned. If he can turn that around, this will make the WRs strong. TEs are getting thin at this point, and the lack of one will mean he will have to get lucky and hope the one/two he picks outdo their ADP.

Zoltar16 - Not a bad duo of QBs. Edwards started strong, then just plain sucked. But Romo will ensure strong points nearly every week, so that's ok. RBs are very nice. Despite Johnson and Jacobs splitting time, they are the starters and will put up points. Sproles, I think, will see an increased load in 2009 to extend LT's career. WRs aren't anything to write home about, but will at least put decent points up each week. Needs more depth. TE is decent, at least. DEF is a bit early, but one of the best!

restless natives - If Warner retires, restless natives is in trouble. But if he doesn't, this could be a nice duo of QBs. I think if Seattle drafts Crabtree, Hasselbeck will rise up the ranks a bit and can help fill in whenever Warner falters. Two RBs at this point hurts a bit. Especially when one of them is Westbrook. He's a monster and will put up strong points when he plays, but he has trouble staying healthy, so that could be trouble. Benson, for the first time in his career, actually looked decent in Cinncy. I think they give him the shot to be the full-time starter in 2009 and who knows how he'll do? The WRs and TE are not bad at all. Should put up above average points each week.

Pictus Cat - QBs are kinda iffy. I like what Thigpen did. But he's still a big ?? Campbell continues to show flashes, but then just very ordinary the rest of the year. If Bush stays healthy, I think that could be a very nice trio of RBs. Nice job on handcuffing Taylor to ADP. WRs on paper don't look dominate, but the receptions that these three get in 2009 should really put them in the top tiers. I like the youth and potential there with Avery and Jackson. No telling how Winslow turns out. Man, what a disappointment he was in 2008...

Sinrman - QB I think I'm set. Brees should be solid again in 2009. Don't expect the yards he got in 2008, but I think his TDs will actually go up if certain players can stay healthy (mainly his RBs). Orton is nothing to write home about, but should fill in whenever Brees falters. RBs are kinda... eh... I like Slaton a lot. Stewart, I like too, but he is the #2 and will split time. I may have reached a little for him, and picking Brees in the early 2nd round hurt me here. We'll see how badly soon enough. My WRs aren't the greatest, but I should see some decent production at least. I wasn't too crazy about picking Bryant as my #1 WR, but I REALLY liked what I saw out of him in TB. If they can ever get a friggin' QB, he could be a monster there. At TE, I liked what I saw out of Shiancoe. If they can ever get a good QB, I think he'll be a top 5 in 2009.

Shadowmaster - QBs I'm not too crazy about. Garrard, I think, was a fluke in 2007. Not saying he'll have more INTs than TDs, but I think 2008 was more of what we'll see out of him in the future if they continue to run with those WRs. Some nice, young RBs there. But injuries are a big concern here. Parker, when healthy, is fantastic. But he gets nicked up easy. McFadden was having issues, too. No telling how Mendenhall turns out in 2009, and will he get much playing time with Parker and Moore there? I guess handcuffing Mendenhall to Parker wasn't a bad idea. The WRs I REALLY like. Definitely the strong point of this team. If Harrison can ever stay healthy, he'll outproduce his ADP and make that a lethal trio. I think Shockey will bounce back and do much better in 2009.

Domination - HUGE, huge risk at QB. If Brady is ok and stays healthy all of 2009, this could be a steal of a pick. But backing him up with Russell is very risky. RBs? Oooof. I love LT. Think he'll do a bit better in 2009, but the days of 15+ TDs and 1500+ yards is behind him, sadly. Backing him up with not one, but TWO rookies? Eeek! Could be huge, but will it be a huge coup, or a huge risk? The WRs and TEs I really like. Should get a lot of points out of those two positions each week.

Beachbum - Rivers should do well once again. But no backup? Could be risky if Rivers underachieves or gets hurt. Hardly any sure-fire starters left... RBs are hurting badly. This will definitely be a piecemeal each week. Beach better pray at least two put together decent weeks every single time, or he could be in a lot of trouble. The lack of a sure-fire starter hurts, but he did at least lessen the blow by picking up backs that will get a decent # of receptions. WRs and TEs are really good. Another one that went strong WR/TE, in hopes of benefiting from the 1 pt/reception (2 for TEs).

JustCuz - See Beachbum. Not worried about Manning ever underachieving, but if he has an off week, it could be trouble, with no backup QB. Very nice RBs here, but five already? Hmmm, that naturally means JC is lacking in other areas. WRs could go either way. Will Edwards break out of his 2008 funk and catch the damn ball? Will Plax quit being an idiot? Will Chambers quit underachieving? Fasano was a nice surprise in 2008, and shouldn't be any different in 2009.

Wraith5 - See Beachbum. See JustCuz. Lack of backup QB... blah blah. In this case though, Pennington did decent in 2008, but he's the ONLY QB at this point. This could spell trouble. At least Beach and JustCuz each have one of the top QBs! The RBs are decent. I thought Forte at 1.02 was a little early, but hey, if Wraith is THAT sure of him, why not? Jones (listed on wrong team) I think overachieved and should come back down to Earth in 2009. He'll do alright if he stays healthy, but nothing like 2008. WRs aren't horrible. Not fantastic, either. I've never really liked Burleson. Huge underachiever his entire career. Top TE though ensures lots of points nearly every week.

oldfatguy - QBs aren't the best, but I think if Schaub stays healthy, he'll be a top 10 QB in 2009. Like Williams, but I think he comes a little bit back to Earth in 2009. Thomas was a reach, in my opinion. Or least a tad bit early. I guess if oldfatguy didn't think he'd last until his next pick, this isn't so bad. But there were better options at that point. Lack of depth at RB is going to hurt. WRs and TE aren't great, but not bad either. Boldin should be huge again in 2009. The others... streaky.

Thank you for the thoughtful eval. QBs are usually questionable on my teams unless I think value falls.

Value doesn't fall often in this draft of sharpshooters &

guppies usually over value 1st QBs so I'm used to targeting QB x at the number of players in the league.

I don't really want a 3rd QB, but Bulger would have been too tempting if he lasted to the 10 11 turn.

My lottery tickets: Bush Winslow. I hope they can make this team a gorilla.

Brees could have a league setting year like an 07 Brady or top Manning year. What will he have to do to be worth a 2.03?

Orton as a backup is more solid to be a NFL starter than what's left.

A nice combo, if the price is right.

Slaton is a little risky to me, but it depends on how high his ceiling, floor and doorknob is to you I guess.

I probably would have gone with Moss and then Lynch over Slaton & Brees as a safer start.

I like the Stewart pick. DWill & him might be the right combo to keep eachother productive and healthy.

Faulk was supposed to fall a little longer so I could get him. Good 3rd RB.

Bryant was a nice value where you got him. QB??? A little risk, but good if he repeats.

Driver I'm a fan of. Worker that just won't seem to go away.

Walter has his games. Good start to a WR3 commitee.

Randle-El didn't go away in 08 either.

Not a bad group.

Visanthe seems to be emerging and should be live up to where you got him.

In hindsight you might have had Moss, Lynch, Rodgers/Romo/Brady vs Slayton, Brees, Bryant.

Not That There's Anything Wrong with That.

PS: Bryant, Dwill and Shiancoe bring back bad memories for me this season. Playoff and perfect record killers for me.

Thanks for your comments again.

Yeah, I knew full-well that I was overpaying for Brees. But in a league like this, where there are sharks all around and 16 owners, it's hard to peg when to snag your QB. I went into the draft knowing I wanted one of the top QBs. When I saw that I was picking 14th overall, I knew the top QBs would be long gone by the time it got back around to me in the late 3rd, so that's why I snagged Brees. I had that feeling that Brees, Manning, Rodgers, and Rivers would at least be gone by then. Turns out I probably could have waited, but you never know! I generally don't go QB early, I'm usually a straight RB-RB or RB-WR when picking late. I'm usually a little TOO safe in my picks and don't take risks. In hindsight, drafting Brees has drastically affected the rest of my draft. I don't think it's BAD, but it's not great either. We'll see how it turns out...

Maybe its just me, but I think that I have mitigated my risks pretty well so far. Granted, my QBs with Brady are risky, but I think you can get by with subpar QBs and still have a good year. I like the fact that I landed LT at 1.10, waited until the 7th and 8th Rds to get RB 2& 3, and landed 2 of the top 3 rookie RBs in the draft. I have a feeling that when all is said and done, hopefully the only real ??? on my team will be Brady, and that was a risk that I was willing to take. BTW I am not a fan of handcuffs(Cassell), as I think that if you feel that you need your stud's backup that early, then draft someone else. That being said, thanks for your opinions Sinrman, it is always good to hear what other's think of your drafting and team you are putting together. It seems to me that the guys drafting at the bottom of the Rd, have put together very solid teams so far.

10.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Michael Jenkins -- WR57 -- ATL

12.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Patrick Crayton -- WR69 -- DAL

3.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Antonio Gates -- TE3 -- SD

Top team through Rd 13 IMHO. Like the double RB Hancuff.

Well, I suppose the silver lining here is that it's going to be very difficult for my team to underperform expectations...

I really thought there would be a couple of QB's left on the board in the 10th, which was obviously pretty foolish and damaging.

4.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Donovan McNabb -- QB8 -- PHI

9.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Jake Delhomme --QB24 -- CAR

3.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Antonio Gates -- TE3 -- SD

Top team through Rd 13 IMHO. Like the double RB Hancuff.
Until they draw the same bye and Rasta just can't say no.Do like the upside of this team.

4.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Donovan McNabb -- QB8 -- PHI

9.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Jake Delhomme --QB24 -- CAR

I think these two are middle of the road and should produce some big games between them. I do not think I was penalized for waiting on QB1 or QB2. I was hoping Flacco would slide, but went right before I took Jake.

5.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Willis McGahee-- RB28 -- BAL

7.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Le'Ron McClain -- RB34 -- BAL

8.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Earnest Graham -- RB40 -- TB

11.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Ricky Williams -- RB55 -- MIA

13.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Warrick Dunn -- RB60 -- TB

18.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Ladell Betts -- RB71 -- WAS

This is the obvious weakness. I am hopeful that the handcuffs can come through and that TB and Balt do not share a bye. I am hopeful this group will do fine. Ricky and Betts offer upside.

1.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Larry Fitzgerald -- WR1 -- ARZ

2.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Steve Smith -- WR8 -- CAR

6.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Steve Breaston -- WR37 -- AZ

10.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Michael Jenkins -- WR57 -- ATL

12.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Patrick Crayton -- WR69 -- DAL

19.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Limas Sweed -- WR97 -- PIT

The strength of the team is in the WRs. I like this group and think I will have some big weeks out of Fitz/Smith. Breaston, Jenkins and Crayton all can have big games. Sweed is more of a flyer, but does offer upside if Nate Washington leaves in free agency.

3.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Antonio Gates -- TE3 -- SD

20.09 Jeff Tefertiller -- Martellus Bennett -- TE34 -- DAL

I love Gates to bounce back. I might have waited too long on TE2. I was hoping Alex Smith would slide, but Bennett really looked good at the end of the year. He is a redzone threat.

15.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Jason Elam -- K5 -- ATL

16.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Kris Brown -- K14 -- HOU

I was looking for two kickers who should not have competition for their jobs.

14.09 Jeff Tefertiller - New England Patriots DST17

17.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Cleveland Browns DST28

I waited on DST, and took a risk with the Pats. The Browns pick is more of a belief in Rob Ryan and the new coaching staff's ability to improve on the defensive side of the ball.

Overall, I like this team's chances as long as the play at running back is passable. Also, it is hard to have too much comfort in the QB combo's ability to stay healthy for two seasons in a row.

QBs - I like the combination of Ryan and Quinn. These are two young QBs on solid teams with weapons. They may not be top 5 material but I should get solid points each week from them.

RBs - Not sure that I really wanted Turner at #4... I am hoping that last year was not a career year and that he can continue to put up yards. Brown will be the consistent scorer each week to offset the ups and downs of Turner. I wanted another RB in the later rounds but no one was appealling whenever my draft slot came on the clock so I kept passing. Depending on what Maroney and JJ do next season this may be my achilles heel.

WRs - Again I like the players but I am not sure there is anything that stands out in that crowd. Colston, CJ and Cotchery should put up respectable numbers - but it remains to be seen if CJ remains in Cincinnati and who will be the QB in NY throwing the ball to Cotchery. The rest of the wrs should provide bye week coverage.

TEs - I feel I reached for Scheffler - he has never performed to expectations due to injury. Heap could be a solid 10th round pick if he becomes a larger part of the offense in Baltimore.

K/Def - I am happy with all four of these and they should finish in the top half of the league with an upside for top ten finishes.

Overall this is a solid roster with no glaring weaknesses at the moment. The bye week schedule, NFL draft and injuries will determine how successful this roster can be going into the season. From there it's just a game of chance...

thanks for the write-ups Sinrman. It was a good draft. Good luck guys. The funny part of the WSLs is that it is so early that it is tough to predict who the top four teams left come December.

Thanks for the analyses Sinrman.
Even tho you are wrong as hell on my team :tinfoilhat:
Hehe, eh, I wouldn't even sweat it. It's so friggin' early right now, a whole slew of things could happen between now and the end of the 2009 season. My analysis is based on what I think as of right now and what I think they'll do (minus injuries, since those are out of your hands).Looking at your team:

6.11 Brutis - Eli Manning -- QB14 -- NYG

9.06 Brutis - Matt Cassel -- QB22 -- NE

Two decent QBs. For where you got him, Manning isn't a bad choice at all. His TD:INT ratio this past season is very encourging (21:10) and much better than seasons past. I just fear that his big weapon (Burress) is gone, and it will severely hamper his production. From about Week 13 on, when he was without Burress, his stats suffered. Week 13: 305 1/1 (good week), Week 14: 123 1/0 (not so great), Week 15: 191, 0/ (not great), Week 16: 181 1/0 (not so great), Week 17: 119 0/0 (not great).

Outside of Week 13, his other weeks were pretty blah. That's not to say that once they locked up their playoff seed, they didn't dial it back a little with Eli, so yes, that can be factored in some too. But he needed his deep threat. That's not to say somewhere down the line the Giants will bring Burress back in, but I doubt it. He seems to have worn out his welcome, and his latest legal troubles could see him facing jail time and missing most/all of next year and beyond. And that's not even taking into account what the NFL brings down on him via suspension. If they look to FA, the choices aren't the greatest. They could possibly trade for a top end FA, like a Boldin, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Cassel showed a lot of promise last year. I think he surprised EVERYONE, having been a career backup, even in college. Right now, he's an overpaid backup. We don't know if he'll end up somewhere else, though I suspect he will if a team is willing to pony up. Interesting thing I heard the other day from John Clayton of ESPN is he thought a 2nd rounder or maybe something else might get NE to bite, which was surprising to me at first. I figured they would want a 1st rounder or a 1st rounder + more for him, but that might not be the case. They wouldn't mind having Cassel as the backup, but they just franchised him, and they don't want to keep a $14 million backup on their team. They want to get rid of him, so asking for more than a 2nd rounder might mean he stays in NE and they pony up. Anywho, he could be decent elsewhere, but I think it all depends on where he goes, and that we don't know. If he winds up in Detroit or KC, I think he will not do well at all. Their O-lines are porous right now and it might not matter WHO they put back there...

1.06 Brutis - Maurice Jones-Drew -- RB6 -- JAX

3.06 Brutis - Kevin Smith -- RB21 -- DET

8.11 Brutis - Felix Jones -- RB42 -- DAL

10.11 Brutis - Shonn Greene -- RB50 -- ???

17.06 Brutis - Javon Ringer -- RB68 -- ???

20.11 Brutis - Chauncy Washington -- RB76 -- JAX

As I said as your 'Best Pick' I think MJD was a terrific pick. With the departure of Taylor, his value skyrockets. And picking up Washington may be the shark move. We really don't know HOW it will turn out, but the odds are that this was a great pickup (I should say great TIMING, since everyone else was probably eyeing him when Taylor was released, and you were the lucky one to get him), especially at 20.11. Being a Lions fan ( ) I like Kevin Smith. He did fairly well, despite their horrible offense. For him to do that behind such a porous O-line is saying something. If he can stay healthy, I think Detroit may have FINALLY found their RB of the future. But there are a lot of ?? right now as to what the new coach will do, and what direction the draft goes. I personally hope they go for the top O-linemen with the 1.01 pick and not Stafford, but it's looking more and more like they will go QB. Not horrible, I suppose, but as we have seen for many years, it doesn't matter WHO you have behind the center, if your line can't block, that QB will die a painful death. Felix Jones was a decent pickup too, especially at 8.11. The only things that concern me with him is a) can he bounce back from a big injury? and b) with the success of Tashard Choice, how in the heck are they going to work a 3 back system? How will they work it? It's going to cut into Barber's and Jones's production until they figure out what they will do, and that might not be until after 2009. The other two are decent shots in the dark, but you never know with rookies. Maybe I just undervalue rookies in drafts, and that's my own fault and problem, but in a draft like this, where it's BEFORE the NFL Draft, it's hard to say where they will wind up and how they will be used in 2009. I think both Greene and Ringer have bright futures, but likely 2010+. We don't see too many rookie RBs making a huge splash their first year...

2.11 Brutis - Greg Jennings -- WR9 -- GB

4.11 Brutis - Lee Evans -- WR18 -- BUF

5.06 Brutis - Michael Crabtree -- WR26 --???

7.06 Brutis - Deion Branch -- WR43 -- SEA

14.11 Brutis - Darrius Heyward-Bey -- WR78 -- ???

16.11 Brutis - Kenny Britt -- WR83 -- ???

Jennings I love. Great pickup here. I think his stock will continue to rise, so long as he has a decent #2 there to take some of the pressure off (Driver). Evans I like a lot too, but his stats suffered last year behind that O-line and inconsistent QB play. Believe me, I have him in my main league, and it would have been nice to see him get a FEW more TDs at least last year. Crabtree has all the tools to make a splash THIS year. Decent pickup, though I personally feel any rookie that early might be really reaching. If predictions of him going to Seattle come true, that could turnout nicely. Will he be the next Eddie Royal? Randy Moss (who had an unbelievable rookie season)? Or follow the path that 3987398379837 other rookie WRs follow their first year? Branch...? Eh, decent receiver in NE, but I still think Seattle really overpaid for him. And he just can't stay healthy. Though we can't predict injuries, when you start to see a pattern of injury, you can't help but include that in your analysis of a player. Will I even get 16 games out of him? I don't fault picking him, but at 7.06? I would have let someone else take the risk and gone with another WR. Just my personal opinion... Heyward-Bey and Britt? Again, they have potential, but rookies, and rookie WRs at that, are very risky. And again, especially BEFORE the NFL draft...

11.06 Brutis - Kevin Boss -- TE20 -- NYG

12.11 Brutis - Ben Watson -- TE23 -- NE

TEs are so-so. You definitely waited awhile on filling this position. Boss has potential, especially if Burress is gone. Eli needs to go SOMEWHERE, and why not your TE? Watson? Eh, he just looked pitiful last year. When you have a brand new QB there, you would THINK he would throw it to his TE a lot more as a safety valve. But not this one. Heck, looking at his career, he hasn't even started a full 16 game season yet (closest was 13).

18.11 Brutis - Phil Dawson -- K27 -- CLE

19.06 Brutis - Jason Hanson -- K29 -- DET

Kickers, I suppose you're safe. Not the top end kickers, but Dawson and Hanson have been pretty consistent throughout their careers.

13.06 Brutis - New York Jets DST11

15.06 Brutis - Washington Redskins DST24

Your defenses are safe, too. Nothing spectacular, but not horrible either (at least you weren't stuck with the Lions or Rams or something). The Redskins as the #24 picked defense is actually kind of a nice value...

-------------------------------------------------------------

So overall it's not a BAD team. But with a lot of rookies and some question marks on your team, I couldn't see it being one of the top teams. At least not right now. Perhaps after the NFL draft, or during camp, or preseason I may change my tune, as a lot of things can happen between now and then. But for right NOW.............................

Grade: C+ (again, too many rookies for my taste)

Best Pick: Tie between Housh at 3.10 (especially if he lands elsewhere) and Celek at 10.07 (if he is anything like he was in the playoffs)

Worst Pick: Again, hard to knock late round picks, but Nicks at 18.07 and Coffman at 19.10? Even though late, faith in rookies, especially reaches, it tough
For some reason, I really like this team. QB- I think that I have a chance at 3 starting QBs. Most will probably think I should have taken Cassell, but if I needed to take him that early just for a handcuff, then I shouldn't have taken Brady.

RB- LT and a bunch of rookies. I think that I have arguably 3 of the Top 5 rookie RBs in this class. For as long as I waited to get them, I think at least one will be great value. I preferred to go rookie than take a backup.

WR- I think that I would put my WRs up against just about anybody. I have guys that are both consistant and have upside.

TE- I love my TEs, I only took a 3rd in case the Eagles draft a TE early. But I don't think that they will.

K & D- I have 2 of each and think that they could all be solid contributors.

Overall- I am happy with the way this team turned out, but considering the risk, I probably should have taken another RB.

Good thing for you is you may have three of the top four rookie RBs. Some might see spotty time, but others might be thrown out there immediately and put up nice numbers. High risk/reward strategy. We shall see if it works!

With Brady and the rookie RBs, I think this team becomes a bigger threat the longer it stays alive. The fear would be Brady and the rookies not playing enough (or playing well) early on. Plenty of upside. Good luck.

"6.16 Pictus Cat - Tyler Thigpen -- QB17 -- KC"

That's gonna hurt some people....... (in all of the WSLs). It was the uncertainty of what might happen there that made me avoid Thigpen.

6.16 Pictus Cat - Tyler Thigpen -- QB17 -- KC

8.16 Pictus Cat - Jason Campbell -- QB19 -- WAS

18.16 Pictus Cat - Vince Young -- QB35 -- TEN

19.01 Pictus Cat - Daunte Culpepper -- QB36 -- DET

Serviceable at QB. Thigpen was a stretch, even before the Cassell trade. Jason Campbell should progress, but will be at best a marginal QB2. Culpepper could start for the Lions, but I don't expect him to hold the job as a younger player should be getting thre snaps by week 8. Vince Young is a huge question and I don't like his odds to contribute this year.

1.01 Pictus Cat - Adrian Peterson -- RB1 -- MIN

2.16 Pictus Cat - Reggie Bush -- RB17 -- NO

9.01 Pictus Cat - Chester Taylor -- RB44 -- MIN

14.16 Pictus Cat - Carnell Cadillac Williams -- RB64 -- TB

I love the potential, but in this format I'm scared. Bush and ADP are game changers, but I can't get the injury fear out of my mind. Taylor is a nice handcuff. I can't remember the last time Cadillac was healthy. Need another RB with this group.

3.01 Pictus Cat - Wes Welker -- WR13 -- NE

4.16 Pictus Cat - DeSean Jackson -- WR22 -- PHI

7.01 Pictus Cat - Donnie Avery -- WR41 -- STL

12.16 Pictus Cat - Bobby Engram -- WR70 -- SEA

13.01 Pictus Cat - Jason Hill -- WR71 -- SF

15.01 Pictus Cat - Devin Thomas -- WR80 -- WAS

20.16 Pictus Cat - Mario Manningham -- WR105 -- NYG

Welker should bounce back with Brady back at QB. DeSean has the big game potential that is crucial in best ball format. Avery should justify his draft position last season and take more of the load from Tory. Top 3 should perform well. Next 4 have potential, Jason Hill and Devin Thomas stand out the most.

5.01 Pictus Cat - Kellen Winslow -- TE6 -- CLE

10.16 Pictus Cat - Heath Miller -- TE19 -- PIT

Great pair at TE. Winslow was nice in CLE, I think he'll have something to prove in TB. Heath is solid.

16.16 Pictus Cat - Ryan Lindell -- K19 -- BUF

17.01 Pictus Cat - Joe Nedney -- K20 -- SF

Two K's, neither offense is very explosive, may be some red zone stalls.

11.01 Pictus Cat - Minnesota Vikings DST3

Vikes are a great pick, I think another D would have provided better value than the 4th QB.

Overall, too many things need to go right for this team to contend. I could see some big early weeks, but not enough depth to get through the byes.

6.15 wraith5 - Chad Pennington -- QB16 -- MIA

11.02 wraith5 - Jon kitna -- QB29 -- DET

20.15 wraith5 - Kellen Clemens -- QB40 -- NYJ

Waited a bit on the QB position. Pennington is a solid starter, I like him around QB 12. I would have liked to see another around QB 20 to pair up with him. Kitna was a stretch to stay with the Lions after the "0 for 16". Clemens has a shot to start, but I expect someone like Leftwich or Garcia to compete, as well as a rookie.

1.02 wraith5 - Matt Forte -- RB2 -- CHI

3.02 wraith5 - Thomas Jones -- RB18 -- NE

7.02 wraith5 - Derrick Ward -- RB32 -- NYG?

13.02 wraith5 - Tashard Choice -- RB58 -- DAL

Forte carries the RBs. I like his potential for next season. I think he'll finish top 10, not top 3, but his downside seemed limited compared to some other options. Jones was a bit of a reach, I don't think he'll produce like last season. More split time with Leon, but he'll put up 5-8 points each week. Ward will split time somewhere and contribute a couple weeks. Choice is a toss up at this point, not enough carries to split between Barber and Felix.

4.15 wraith5 - Vincent Jackson -- WR21 -- SDG

5.02 wraith5 - Santana Moss -- WR23 -- WAS

8.15 wraith5 - Nate Burleson -- WR51 -- SEA

9.02 wraith5 - Isaac Bruce -- WR52 -- SF

10.15 wraith5 - Domenik Hixon -- WR59 -- NYG

14.15 wraith5 - Chaz Schillins -- WR79 -- OAK

18.15 wraith5 - Miles Austin -- WR94 -- DAL

I like this group in best ball. Jackson and Moss are homerun type players. Burleson has a comeback year, and Bruce still has something to prove. Plax does not play for the Giants, Hixon steals some looks, Schillins picks up some love in Oak. Austin is an 18th rd pick.

2.15 wraith5 - Tony Gonzales -- TE1 -- KC

19.02 wraith5 - Desmond Clark -- TE31 --CHI

Gonzo is an uber stud. He is like starting an extra player. Huge advantage. Clark may contribute during Gonzo's bye week.

17.02 wraith5 - Josh Scobee -- K21 -- JAX

16.15 wraith5 - Matt Bryant--K18--TB

Two kickers, I think both have jobs.

12.15 wraith5 - Tampa Bay DST10

15.02 wraith5 - Jacksonville Jaguars DST22

Two historically good D's that people have been down on lately. I love the jags at 22, TB fair value at 10.

This team could depend on a couple of Jets- Clemens and Jones. If they play well, I see this as a top 4 team. Without, they fall in the 1st 6 weeks.

After reading some of the recent news items in the last couple of day, I think that the value of a couple of my RB's went up.

Buckhalter was traded to Denver. He may be the starter.

Ward just inked a deal with Tampa which will give Jacobs even more touches, scratch tat, rumbles next year.

I'm liking it. What do you guys think?

My plan was to go Pennington / Thigpen at 6/7. Luckily, Pictus saved me from that fate (Thanks, GB!!). Completely agree about taking QB20 instead of Bruce. Unfortunately, I wasn't prepared for the enormity of the QB run in round 9 (9 QBs taken). I thought a guy like Orton would be left at 10.15. This was a WSL mistake that I don't think I'd make in the PDSLs or SSLs (time will tell).

This team could depend on a couple of Jets- Clemens and Jones. If they play well, I see this as a top 4 team. Without, they fall in the 1st 6 weeks.
That's a sad statement right there. Jones should be fine as RB18 off the boards. I still think the Jets have most of the pieces they need (especially if they can get the QB situation squared away). Sooner or later in the season, my downfall will be the QB position.

I appreciate the assessment.

:wall:

Braylon Edwards is a top 3 WR lock.
2008 stat line says otherwise.....16 games 55 receptions 877 yards 3 TDs is FAR from #3
Try it in the context.

 I have some how regained access, magically to the forums again. Never figured out why I lost it.

Thank you for the write ups and comments. Go Thigpen.

See some of you in the PDSLs.

Grade: B+

Best Pick: Cutler at 4.02 or Clayton at 8.02

Worst Pick: Combo of Nelson at 11.15 and Jones at 14.02 is kinda blah

5.16 ShadowMaster - David Garrard -- QB13 -- JAX

9.16 ShadowMaster - Marc Bulger -- QB28 -- STL

3.16 ShadowMaster - Willie Parker RB25 - PIT

4.01 ShadowMaster - Darren McFadden -- RB26 -- OAK

20.01 ShadowMaster - St. Louis Cardinals DST31

Grade: C (way too many injury risks - Bulger, Parker, McFadden, Mendenhall, Harrison, and on and on)

Best Pick: Moore at 16.01 could be excellent value and great handcuff to Parker

Worst Pick: Hard to nail one specific one down -- combo of iffy RBs brings about a lot of ???

...
Up to this point, end of March/early April, I think I'll stick with most, if not all of these...

Let the passion begin!

6.16 Pictus Cat - Tyler Thigpen -- QB17 -- KC Performed well last year, Cassel competition

8.16 Pictus Cat - Jason Campbell -- QB19 -- WAS Slow and Steady to balance group

18.16 Pictus Cat - Vince Young -- QB35 -- TEN Flyer behind elderly starter

19.01 Pictus Cat - Daunte Culpepper -- QB36 -- DET Wingin' to CJ, Detroit rebuilding, but has this show

I didn't see value drop at QB over the guys I took.

1.01 Pictus Cat - Adrian Peterson -- RB1 -- MIN

2.16 Pictus Cat - Reggie Bush -- RB17 -- NO

9.01 Pictus Cat - Chester Taylor -- RB44 -- MIN

14.16 Pictus Cat - Carnell Cadillac Williams -- RB64 -- TB

It's a high upside group. Lacks depth. Caddy could boost the group if it survives long enough.

3.01 Pictus Cat - Wes Welker -- WR13 -- NE

4.16 Pictus Cat - DeSean Jackson -- WR22 -- PHI

7.01 Pictus Cat - Donnie Avery -- WR41 -- STL

12.16 Pictus Cat - Bobby Engram -- WR70 -- SEA

13.01 Pictus Cat - Jason Hill -- WR71 -- SF

15.01 Pictus Cat - Devin Thomas -- WR80 -- WAS

20.16 Pictus Cat - Mario Manningham -- WR105 -- NYG

Strength of the team. Starters should outperform their spots. Depth.

5.01 Pictus Cat - Kellen Winslow -- TE6 -- CLE

10.16 Pictus Cat - Heath Miller -- TE19 -- PIT

Low floor, high ceiling.

16.16 Pictus Cat - Ryan Lindell -- K19 -- BUF

17.01 Pictus Cat - Joe Nedney -- K20 -- SF

11.01 Pictus Cat - Minnesota Vikings DST3

Vikings should do better than the other values for a second defense. Maybe Devin Thomas should have been my DST 2. Two starting Ks.
Grade: C+Best Pick: Tie between Donnie Avery at 7.01 and believe it or not, Daunte Culpepper at 19.01 (both could be excellent values)

Worst Pick: Tyler Thigpen at 6.16 -- I suppose WHERE he got him isn't so bad, but as the first QB? QB weakness could be hard to overcome

I think up to this point I like in this order:

Pictus Cat - QBs are kinda iffy. I like what Thigpen did. But he's still a big ?? Campbell continues to show flashes, but then just very ordinary the rest of the year. If Bush stays healthy, I think that could be a very nice trio of RBs. Nice job on handcuffing Taylor to ADP. WRs on paper don't look dominate, but the receptions that these three get in 2009 should really put them in the top tiers. I like the youth and potential there with Avery and Jackson. No telling how Winslow turns out. Man, what a disappointment he was in 2008...
Thanks for the evals. My over all assessment of this team is relatively higher floor and higher ceiling with the exception of some bye week vulnerability (RB especially.)

4.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Donovan McNabb -- QB8 -- PHI Bye 4

9.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Jake Delhomme --QB24 -- CAR Bye 4

I think these two are middle of the road and should produce some big games between them. I do not think I was penalized for waiting on QB1 or QB2. I was hoping Flacco would slide, but went right before I took Jake.

5.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Willis McGahee-- RB28 -- BAL Bye 7

7.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Le'Ron McClain -- RB34 -- BAL Bye 7

8.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Earnest Graham -- RB40 -- TB Bye 8

11.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Ricky Williams -- RB55 -- MIA Bye 6

13.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Warrick Dunn -- RB60 -- TB Bye 8

18.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Ladell Betts -- RB71 -- WAS Bye 8

This is the obvious weakness. I am hopeful that the handcuffs can come through and that TB and Balt do not share a bye. I am hopeful this group will do fine. Ricky and Betts offer upside.

1.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Larry Fitzgerald -- WR1 -- ARZ Bye 4

2.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Steve Smith -- WR8 -- CAR Bye 4

6.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Steve Breaston -- WR37 -- AZ Bye 4

10.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Michael Jenkins -- WR57 -- ATL Bye 4

12.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Patrick Crayton -- WR69 -- DAL Bye 6

19.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Limas Sweed -- WR97 -- PIT Bye 8

The strength of the team is in the WRs. I like this group and think I will have some big weeks out of Fitz/Smith. Breaston, Jenkins and Crayton all can have big games. Sweed is more of a flyer, but does offer upside if Nate Washington leaves in free agency.

3.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Antonio Gates -- TE3 -- SD Bye 5

20.09 Jeff Tefertiller -- Martellus Bennett -- TE34 -- DAL Bye 6

I love Gates to bounce back. I might have waited too long on TE2. I was hoping Alex Smith would slide, but Bennett really looked good at the end of the year. He is a redzone threat.

15.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Jason Elam -- K5 -- ATL Week 4

16.09 Jeff Tefertiller - Kris Brown -- K14 -- HOU Week 10

I was looking for two kickers who should not have competition for their jobs.

14.09 Jeff Tefertiller - New England Patriots DST17 Bye 8

17.08 Jeff Tefertiller - Cleveland Browns DST28 Bye 9

I waited on DST, and took a risk with the Pats. The Browns pick is more of a belief in Rob Ryan and the new coaching staff's ability to improve on the defensive side of the ball.

Overall, I like this team's chances as long as the play at running back is passable. Also, it is hard to have too much comfort in the QB combo's ability to stay healthy for two seasons in a row. NOT AFTER THE SCHEDULE RELEASE
This team is TOAST in week four. Only four teams on bye that week, but it so happens that both QBs and my four best WRs are off the same stinking week.
