Seems like every other thread is a thinly veiled attempt at an AC Forum thread. And even threads that aren't turn into them.I remember it was bad last year but this is ridiculous. Starting to look like FFT.

Some aren't even that thinly veiled, but clear misplacements <_<

As a new guy, I will say with a sheepish grin, "Too many new guys." Rules need to be re-introduced, explained etc. The WDIS ?s also need to be ignored if they are in the wrong forum.

Fair point. There's a sticky at the top of the board, but can be easily overlooked.

I think its the CBS Sportsline forum. Its full of people fishing for sharks! That's why I joined here. Sick of the immaturity. This place is the BEAST of FF knowledge and professionalism mixed with all the fun you need w/o the nastiness.

Shady, I think its good when people take 2 or 3 players that other people are having the same situations/problems with and weight the pluses and minuses of the players. It's always going to pertain to some of our players because we have them all on different teams.

Where are you going with this thread?

I actually like your exploit/avoid thread and maybe even 1 tough WDIS thread but every other post is a WDIS thread without actually saying it. Thats where Im going.

Maybe if we all took the time to answer quetions in the AC from time to time those questions would stay out of the shark pool. As it is now, the AC forum is basically dead.Edited because I'm anal and needed to correct a typo.

Again, the place is full of minnows. I think I'm a very well schooled one (die hard football fan for about 18 years, played for 13 and read and study everything I can), but when people see that I've only been signed on for a couple weeks they tend not to take me seriously. The post about tending to the AC forum needs to apply to vets. I've only played FF for half a season (dropped out mid-season) due to [well known and fessed up to] commish infidelity. Who the hell is going to listen to me when I only signed up 2 weeks ago?

I think some people are a bit too quick on the trigger to try to 'school' those posters they feel are in the wrong. There are actually a lot of strategy, depth conversations that anyone could twist into a WDIS. Also you have to consider that a lot of people read a thread about one of their players and try to determine what the consensus is about their player.I understand the frustration, but I also think everyone needs to try to tolerant as well.

If you make good points with sound reasoning, people will listen. That's the great thing about he shark pool.

If you make sense, people will listen.

 Why should I take out time in my day to answer other people's questions. People who have a question in that forum should answer as many questions as they can and then the favor will be returned to them.

Now how does that make any sense?!?! You'll have the blind leading the blind. You wanted to know why WDIS questions are in the shark pool...

Answer: the people asking them want to have sharks answering.

Every time I have a question that I post over there, I spend the time to respond to at least 10 or so other posters as well. This seems to work out very well for me as those who's posts I replied in often times come to see what my needs are as well. It think it works rather well.

maybe they can just figure it out for themselves like we did years ago.

Very true. It's also in the approach. No doubt that some old timers can be a bit uppity and snobbish, but to be fair, occasionally a new poster comes in a bit surly. That clearly is not the way to gain respect, as in any stage of life. Rather, merely joining in the discussion in a fair manner will go a long way - you'd be surprised.

I've noticed more and more where threads that ask you to "explain why you are strarting 'this guy' over 'that guy'", and have some giving some really well thought-out replies discussing their reasoning and motives, have more and more replies that ask WDIS instead of explaining their logic, noting stats, discussing defenses or anything that might be interesting to read and useful for all on the forum. (whew, big ol' long sentence - don't tell the grammar police...) ;) Don't post a reply where you say you might start one guy over another and follow that up by "What do you think?" Ugh, read, learn, study and post an opinion so your opinion can be shot down and not your WDIS question. More fun for everyone that way...

And looks can be deceiving. I was much more actively involved in ff back in the cheatsheets.net days before my job requirements escalated. Now I've changed my career and have a little more time to participate. In 1996 I was one of a dozen or so people on the old alt.rec.football.fantasy newsgroup (or some title like that) that Joe solicited advice from concerning our approach to fantasy football success. This group was VBD before it had a name. But if you look at my number I just joined YESTERDAY. But I agree, if you make sense, people will listen.

You're judged by your member number here by a lot of people so you obviously don't know anything.

"I joined a message board before you, therefore I am better."

It's the Magazine. It's drawing in all sorts.
This is an EXCELLENT posting.
This coming from the guy who purchased a low # and apparently had someone change his joined on day as well. :lmao:
You've got to be kidding. Why would anyone want to purchase a message board member number? That takes the cake.

Thanks! And by the way, I find nearly all of this entertaining. It's no different than being at a bar. Some people are courteous, some people are rude, and most people are both depending on their mood, the topic, etc.

It's all the five digit members ;)
