WTF happened to the Shark Pool? (1 Viewer)

Two notes (largely for the Mods)...

(1) My sense is that locking threads is much more effective than moving them to the ACF

(2) As much as it amuses us to post IBTM or IBTL or :IBTL: (and I'm as guilty as the next guy)...the most effective response to AC-style posts I've seen is simply to post:

The Shark Pool (NFL Talk)

Important Note about the Shark Pool:

Threads that are asking for advice on how you should draft or manage your team belong in the Assistant Coach's Forum.

The Shark Pool is reserved for sharing NFL talk and fantasy football strategy discussion.
If the Mods locked each thread with that quote as the final post maybe people would start to get a better sense of which forum to use...

The only time I even look look at member # or join date is if the poster creates a thread in the wrong forum. If he is new, I will trhy to let him know where to go with such a thread. If he is not I will ignore the thread and assume he knws the rules just wanted to pull a fast one.

Seems like every other thread is a thinly veiled attempt at an AC Forum thread. And even threads that aren't turn into them.

I remember it was bad last year but this is ridiculous. Starting to look like FFT.
It doesn't help any when the MODs allow certain members to post their teamin the Shark Pool either and get away with it. In fact, some of the staff members are the ones who go and post their teams in the first place.Special rules for special people I supposse.

Maybve if we all took the time to answer quetions in the AC from time to time those questions would stay out of the shark pool.  As it is now, the AC forum is basically dead.
 Why should I take out time in my day to answer other people's questions. People who have a question in that forum should answer as many questions as they can and then the favor will be returned to them.
Every time I have a question that I post over there, I spend the time to respond to at least 10 or so other posters as well. This seems to work out very well for me as those who's posts I replied in often times come to see what my needs are as well. It think it works rather well.
My question is if you need to go the Assistant Coach for your Lineup/Waiver suggestions, why would anybody use your advice?

How is that any different that taking strat advice (found here in he SP) from others who are looking for strat advice as well? The fact is and always has been that the the message boards are used as think tanks to look at things form angles for which you may not have seen on your own. That can be strat just as well as WDIS. One thing I know to be true is that people who feel they are above the advise of others often times offer the lest productive advise of all. So those who stay out of the AC forum becuase they feel they are too good to be there are really doing everyone a favor by not showing up IMO.

I agree. I dont see anything wrong with disguising a WDIS with information that can be discussed by people interested in that situation.

It's the Magazine. It's drawing in all sorts.
This is an EXCELLENT posting.
This coming from the guy who purchased a low # and apparently had someone change his joined on day as well. :lmao:
You've got to be kidding. No one can purchase a low number, can they? Why would anyone want to do that?
I can't say that it was definitely purchased, but it was obtained later on.
 otis is a true 5 digiter :lmao:

Just for the record, I will sell my 4 digit member # to anyone for a case of Heineken and a copy of the most recent Playboy "Girls of the PAC-10" edition. Serious Inquries Only Please. :banned:

There's a fine line between WDIS and "help my team" and less specific strategy postings. And that line blurs differently for most of the people in this forum. Ultimately, it all comes down to how each owner can make their teams better; some for this year, others for the future.

Been there for an hour. Thanks for the direction (with AC as well as signing up).

THANK YOU! I feel the exact same way.Someone had to say it.

Edited because I'm anal and needed to correct a typo.
I would answer more AC forum questions if they were:1 - more succinct

2 - made into a poll of some sort instead of post

You can go into the AC forum and answer 5 succinctly worded polls in 1 minute.

Here's a suggestion:Make new folks read through a board rules summary, where they have to sytematically check off a box indicating they read and understood each rule, such as what kind of posts belong in which forum. After each box is checked, they check a final box that indicates they understand the rules here. Yes this is bureaucratic, and yes, most may just check off all the boxes without reading anything, but maybe some won't and maybe, just maybe, some of that important info will stick around in their heads long enough to unclog the kind of fluff that's been in the Shark Pool these first two weeks of the season.

At any liquor warehouse store (not regular liquor store). Maybe they don't have too many of these outside the state of Ky.
