Obviously he's not doing anything now, but just trying to get a gauge on where you guys see him long term. He is a fast LB and there was a lot of talk that he might even displace Greenwood this year which it seems Diles has emerged instead.

Is he a guy to be patient with? Where do you see him long term, as compared to other rookies this year?

Adibi has had trouble staying healthy this year and has fallen behind in development. Long term, Kubiak has said that he is going to have gain a few pounds in the off-season. I think during off-season he will get a shot to replace Greenwood (diles plays the other side), but really outside of that it is all speculation.

Kevin Bently has been named the starter, but Adibi will get some playing time according the Kubiak.

What do you see his upside as? I had him in a 16 team start 8 IDP league (3:1 scoring) and traded him away and he was subsequently dropped. I'm thinking about making a move for him, but there are other options out there like Brandon Johnson, Adalius Thomas who was just dropped, and Derrick Brooks.If we don't need immediate production from him, does his upside outweigh those guys?

Texans' Adibi to get 15-20 plays this week at LB

The Texans realize if another linebacker goes down, they will be in trouble. That's part of the reason the team is going to start making it a point to get rookie Xavier Adibi involved in the defense.

Even though Kevin Bentley will start in place of Zac Diles, Adibi will see 15 to 20 plays.

Adibi will play one of the outside linebacker positions. The weak side is where he fits best. That means, if DeMeco Ryans has to leave the field because of his shoulder that's still bothering him, Bentley would wear the defensive transmitter, and he or Morlon Greenwood would move to middle linebacker. Adibi would then fill in for whoever moves.

This is what the Texans didn't do with Diles last year, and then later regretted it. They never got him involved until the offseason. They want to see what type of player they have in Adibi. He is behind a little because of the medical issues he was having. But he is now supposedly no longer losing weight and is ready to take on the larger role.

Are you looking forward to seeing what he can do? Will he be the future at weakside linebacker?

Frank Okam will also likely be activated this week because a high ankle sprain is hampering Amobi Okoye. Okam and Jeff Zgonina will try to replace the second-year defensive tackle. Okoye has yet to miss a game because of an injury, but high ankle sprains are difficult to play through and take a long time to heal. He hasn't practiced yet this week.

I havn't seen the boxscore, but remember one play in particular where he got into the backfield and stuffed the runningback almost immediately after getting handed the ball for a loss.

Megan Manfull, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans LB Morlon Greenwood (ankle) is day-to-day. X-rays on his sprained ankle were negative, but he could miss a start. LB Xavier Adibi would replace Greenwood if he is unable to play in Week 11.

I don't think so.Greenwood moved over to play WLB with Diles out last week. Adibi has been taking snaps for Greenwood. Presumably, that means WLB.Even without that bouncing ball, the 220 lb Adibi is a much better fit at Will than Bentley and is rumored to be getting the nickel snaps. Adibi is the clear start here based on what we know now (assuming no gameday surprises).

I didn't watch the game, but it looks like he was in a target rich environment w/30 run plays and a bushel of short passes, although on the flip side it looks like he might've come out for a 13 play drive, so his #'s might be even better....

he should get just as many opps vs cleveland next week if he gets the start again.

No kidding. I dn't have enough cap room to activate him in 2 leagues but next year looks good.
