By the way, after researching, the PS4 if you add an external drive you cannot put games on it apparently, unlike the Xbox. However, it's easy to replace the original hard drive in the PS4 if it comes to it, and Sony has instructions out for doing it.
That's pretty major, and a large advantage to XB1 imho. Most major games are in the 30-50gb range, and this generation has you install them fully. That's 10-12 games. So easy external storage is a big deal.
I bought a 3TB HDD for about $80, plugged it into my xbox, and that was that. If you can't do this on the PS4, that alone would keep me away from that machine if I was only considering one.
You can't upgrade the xbone internal hard drive so you HAVE to use and external. It is nice to be able to plug in extra storage but you have and extra component sitting on your console and xbox HD will forever be small.
PS4 is easy to swap out HD for whatever size you want. Also if you want you can use an external with a PS4 but only for music and video content.
I own both, so I have no preconceived bias. I do like/use the xb1 more, but again, I do own both, and see merits of both (same as last gen).
On this issue, it's not remotely close. Plugging in a usb is something everyone can/will do. Swapping out the internal hdd? You just lost half your audience, regardless of how simple it is.
I really had no idea the PS4 couldn't take an external drive for games. Huge, huge fail, and you know it (trash talking aside

)
