I am actually scared to play this.
90% of horror games I think are childish and stupid
10% scare the crap out of me.
Its kinda a lose lose for me.

the hook in this one is that you don't fight. you have to run and hide. also, you have a night vision camera to see in the dark, but it only lasts so long, and looks like it can be spookier then the dark sometimes. Also, crazy people walking around doing crazy things to other crazy people often makes me feel scared.

Ugh, really want to get an xbox for Titanfall and Halo, but the PS4 just sounds like the better, cheaper overall machine. What to do, what to do (currently have 360 and PS3).

I would wait and see what these next two dashboard updates (especially the one on March 4th) do for the interface. If they fix most of the issues then I think the XB1 can still be a good choice for a MP heavy gamer and the extra $100 is worth it for access to the Titanfall, Halo, and Gears frachises.
I have no idea what the PS4 interface is like compared to the XB1 one (and if people are just more satisfied with it because they're coming from the PS3 which was a mess as well), but there's no way it can be worse than the XB1 interface currently.

Ask yourself if there are some exclusives coming out for the PS4 that you're excited for. That should help decide.

Then ask your self if the difference in exclusives is worth playing every cross platform game on the crappier system.

I told my wife I was too scared to play this alone and asked her to play it with me. She called me a baby and said she would watch it with be. I hope it makes her pee her pants. This should be funI only got to chapter 2 and I had to turn it off for the night. The generator room scared the #### outta me. I actually screamed 2 or 3 times.

The ones I can think of off the top of my head are Warframe and Blacklight Retribution.
Both are free to play. I think Warframe is a real nice FPS for free I have played a good bit of Warframe. Blacklight might be good but the first couple of times I played it I was frustrated because it has a steep learning curve and I haven't been back to it since I went on a Battlefield 4 bender.
If you have a PS4 you will have at least those two free to try. As far as Killzone goes the knock is it is a really pretty but generic future shooter. Even with that I saw a article that 2/3 of PS4 owners have Killzone. So at least people play it.

I turned on my PS4 last night for the first time. As a point of comparison, I also currently have an XBox One and I formerly owned a 360 and PS3. My initial impressions of the PS4....
I was really disappointed with the interface - very clunky and feels like it took a step back from the PS3. Moving around feels like quicksand compared with the XBox One.
I signed up for a free trial of PS+ and downloaded Outlast, but haven't played it yet. I did, however, watch a bunch of other people playing the game over PS+ which is a cool feature (I think XBox One also has a similar option, but I haven't tried it yet).
I started up Tomb Raider and played through the first few save points. Minimal loading times and everything ran smoothly. I haven't seen the game on any other console, so I can't really compare the graphics, frame rate, etc., but I can say that this version looks nice and seems to run well. The game itself feels like a carbon copy of Uncharted - which isn't a bad thing at all.
I'm looking forward to playing a Bluray through it tonight.

The entire game is played from the first-person perspective. As others have noted, you have no weapons and no way to defend yourself, so your only options are to sneak through areas and run/hide if you get spotted (which will happen regularly). You carry a video camera that you can look through whenever you want, and you can also turn on its night vision function which helps out in dark areas but which also drains your battery. Pretty much the entire story is told through files you pick up along the way, or notes your character takes when you film something interesting.
Playing this game is a lot like working your way through one of the haunted houses that operate around Halloween. It's pretty linear in the sense that you're funneled down a very specific path most of the time, and stuff frequently pops out at you. This game does an extremely good job of providing "jump scares."
I haven't finished it yet, but I've been led to believe that I'm well over halfway done at around 4 hours of play time. In other words, it's a short game. Allegedly it takes about an hour to beat if you know exactly what you're doing and you speed-run it. It's a fun one though, and I'm enjoying it so far.

Some info about 1886: The Order...
- 30 fps (this is not a bad thing. I'm just pointing this out for all the console warriors like Ivan and their 60fps or bust rants)
- letterboxed (large black bars at the top an bottom of your screen. Better pull your chair up)
- Rumored 6-10 hour campaign.
- No multiplayer
- No co-op
It'll look nice for sure. Though the replayability looks suspect. Especially with no multiplayer or coop.

I like it. This allows them to focus on the single-player aspect, and not worry about breaking the other side with the design decisions. I wish more companies would do this.

So awesome. I'll be missing out on this game for a while. As usual, I'll end up with all the consoles this generation. Once the PS4 hits $299 it's a no-brainer for me. I had a fleeting thought about trading in my PS3 and 20+ games for credit toward a PS4. But once in a while I want to kick myself for selling off old consoles (OG Xbox, PS1 for example).
I had both and used the 360 80% of the time. The PS3 gathered dust and only got pulled out for Last of Us and Uncharted. It was an easy decision for me to go with the One.

No....still on the fence about what system to get. Gears coming to X1 is a big draw for me, kinda making me lean that way, but there's a lot more I need to see til I get either system. I'll probably get one this summer sometime. This time of year is a little hectic for me.

I actually have my NES hooked up and play some older games from time to time with my son. NES was such a great console with so many classics.
Anyway I never understood console pissing matches. Really? Who cares? Play the system you love. I think both the 360 and PS3
are terrific consoles.
I prefer the PS3 because of a few reasons (mainly the durability and versatility and the fantastic exclusives) and I just recently picked up the 360 for my boy for the holidays. Cool system too. I think for online gamers the 360 is the real draw.
Anyway……it will be a PS4 for me as well and the price will come down in a year….no doubt about it.

I think there are a lot of interesting points in this article about how gamers fight amongst themselves and how stupid and destructive it is. It's not about consoles specifically, but I think the general idea still applies.

I'm kind of the same except my son has the 360. I like playing online but don't have friends I play with regularly or anything. I just don't want to pay more money for an under-powered, limited system. As long as the PS4 gets good games like Last of Us and the multi-console titles, and the 360 still gets the Halo's, etc, then I think I'm going with the PS4.

Crap on that, the who point of being on a fantasy football board is to argue football Leaf/Manning Williams/Stewart, Steelers/Ravens whatever.
People have been arguing religion, politics and sports forever. Video games is just an extension of that. It's fun.
What's funnier is that the xboys talked a lot of smack last gen and now are getting their asses handed to them.
