Hypothetical.

You need a playoff win. You can pick any one of these clubs to play. Which one would you prefer to face to give you the best chance to win?

I asked this question for the divisional round. The "winner" was the Redskins.

http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...opic=220738&hl=

Colts [ 0 ] [0.00%]

Steelers [ 2 ] [5.41%]

Broncos [ 0 ] [0.00%]

Patriots [ 3 ] [8.11%]

Seahawks [ 2 ] [5.41%]

Redskins [ 22 ] [59.46%]

Bears [ 6 ] [16.22%]

Panthers [ 2 ] [5.41%]

So I ask again for the conference title games.

They have the best offense in the league.  Not a fan of different styles?
Perhaps he's just a believer that defense wins championships. I know I am.
Seattle was 7th in scoring defense the other teams were 3, 4, and 5. Green Bay had a great defense when they won it in 96? They had a great player.

Rams had a great defense in 2001?

All those 49er teams had great defenses?

Huh.

Wow. Somebody can name a handful of examples out of 40. Jeez, that's a compelling argument.
The "defense wins championships" is overratedIts been shown that teams who are good ON BOTH SIDES are the ones who win championships.

Seattle was #1 on offense and #7 on defense

Looking for a fight are you? You just made a blanket statement, at least I made an argument. :blocked:

And the 49ers had some great D's led by Ronnie Lott.

I remember seeing something a few years ago, that no team has won the Super Bowl in a very long time without a top 10 D and only two teams have won without a top 10 Offense (the 90 Giants and 00 Ravens)

. Good catch. The Packers were good in fact. The Rams were #7 but since they were always so far ahead, I think that plays into it. They weren't that impressive by any means. 2000 Ravens were #1 in total defense. Link. Giants also #1 in 1990 in total defense so they didn't need offense I guess.

I found one. The 83' Raiders were 13th. 1983

The Redskins in 87 and Broncos in 98 were 8th.

Edit: 76 Raiders were 12th.

68 Jets 11th, fourth in the AFL

I misunderstood the question and read it as "If you have to pick one team to win this weekend, like for a survivor pool, who would it be". As a result, I picked Denver. Now that I get the question, I would vote Carolina. Double-cover Steve Smith, and what else do they have? I mean, Chicago was moving the ball on their defense, so with all due respect to their shutout of the Giants, it's not exactly an impenetrable unit we're talking about here.
