Do we know who pulled the trigger? The guy will be a hero, but perhaps a target too for radical Islamics.
For this reason, I hope we don't find out.
It is a fairly small group. How do you keep that a secret?
It is not really that small of a group it is just that the members can't count very high.
Why did you post such a stupid ####### comment?
I think FSM was actually making that comment about the radical Islamics, not our Spec Ops folks.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/healthcare/health_care_lawIt looks like support for health care continues to gain momentum. 53% now in favor. Only the hardcore right still believes that repealing it will create jobs. And this is Rasmussen, so the numbers may be even more favorable.
Once the primary candidates remind the sleepy electorate that the Federal Government is mandating that you purchase a product under penalty of imprisonment, the numbers will normalize.

There's been a lot of reminding. It seems like the fearmongering is wearing off, and people are finally realizing how much Obama has accomplished for this country.

Working class America probably has already had to eat their increase in insurance cost/decrease in benefits. Getting bin Laden under his watch will be Obama's trump card. It's a notch in Obama's tough on terror, homeland security belt which neutralizes the right.

Just like the 133% increase in their insurance premiums the previous 9 or 10 years leading up to HCR?

Democrat officials gear up for the real operation

But one Democratic communications hand sent advice to a slew of other Democratic operatives in the wake of the announcement hammering on the need to make sure Obama comes out on top.

“In your day jobs, do not let Republicans turn this into continuing the Bush legacy. This has to be about Obama’s decisive leadership,” the guidance said. “He is the one who oversaw bringing bin Laden to justice, much like how Bush failed to do so at Tora Bora and then claimed Osama wasn’t a priority.”

This year our company changed its retirement health care benefit program where they subsidize the costs somewhat and you have to go out and purchase your own private policy - the previous program was much more beneficial. Hope someone is loving this redistribution.eta: typo

I'm glad Obama was president during this. Bush would have been crucified in the press with all the stories coming out now about Bin Laden being captured alive and killed in front of his family.

The government didn't mandate that. Your employer saw the rising costs of healthcare that have been going on for years and made the change. If you want your employer should pay for the "much more beneficial" plan, maybe you and your colleagues should form a union and bargain collectively for it.

The government did a much better job faking the moon landing. Here we only have pictures of people watching the live footage, at least with the moon landing they faked the footage of the actual event. Really a low budget fraud here.

Retirees being provided vouchers to purchase private health insurance? That sounds like the Ryan plan.

Ok, whatever you say. Don't think forming a union is a good idea these days. Looks like their influence is on a slight down trend.

If there is real competiton among the insurance industry, I am not opposed to it.

Well, then I fail to understand your initial complaint. Employer-provided retiree medical was one of the biggest factors in the failure of the American auto industry.

I am not so opposed to the plan, itself, as it is still a good plan. But the company is reacting to the government telling them what to do/setting new "guidelines"/ laws to operate under. Regardless the company is reacting to the government. The company has built this cost into its business model. Failure of an industry is not necessarily bad. Maybe they had a business model (including negotiated benefits) that wasn't sustainable or maybe the product wasn't acceptable any longer? Each company needs to evaluate what costs it can incur to be successful.

Article about Obama's Teleprompter Coach

Speechwriters can only put the words on the screen.

On top of the more than half a million dollars it spends on speechwriters, the White House is using tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on a public relations firm headed by Democratic image maker Michael Sheehan — once dubbed by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton as an “extraordinary media coach” who helped her master the teleprompter.

Mr. Sheehan’s firm, Sheehan Associates, could receive more than $100,000 under a current contract and has been providing occasional speech and consulting services to the White House since 2009, federal purchasing records show.

Did it really take Obama 16 HOURS to give the green light on this? The press pooped a T-Square when Bush waited seven minutes for secret service to ready the exit and his vehicle on 9/11.

My opinion, right now, is that he's doing a pretty good job. I don't agree with everything, and I would prefer to have someone a bit more fiscally conservative, but overall

Come on Stat. This operation was being planned since what, last August? I'm fine with the CIC sleeping on whether to invade another country, even if it was to get OBL. The place was under constant surveillance. He wasn't going anywhere.

And??????Why is this a bad thing? If this helps any POTUS communicate his/her ideas more effectively to the American people, then that is a good thing. Sheehan is providing education, and we can all better ourselves through education.

Our Political Opportunist In Chief is at it again. He couldn't be bothered to visit Ground Zero up to this point in his presidency, but just in time for his 2012 campaign tour he gets to have his picture taken placing a wreath and hugging some fire fighters.

Hopefully he'll finally find it politically convenient to finally visit the tomb of the unknown soldier on Memorial Day.

You really believe this is something worthy of criticism?

To use this site and those people as political props for his re-election bid? Yeah.

Doesn't every president looking to be re-elected do this sort of thing? And didn't some conservatives also criticize Obama last year for NOT visiting Ground Zero?

I referenced that in my post. The guy couldn't be bothered to visit the site (even when he was on a date in NY) until it was politically convenient.Didn't this guy just say in an interview "We don't have to spike the football"? What the hell is he doing today? He should be like those brave Navy Seals that are back to doing their jobs today.Unemployment and a flagging economy didn't go away just because you gave the Commodus thumbs up to kill Bin Laden. I'd say get back to work, but this guy thinks his only job is running for President.

You seem to be more guilty of political opportunism than Obama. I think this thread has ample proof of that.

You seem to twist events to suit your political positions more than Obama does.Obama plays part in getting OBL killed, and afterwards he goes to meet with 9-11 victims. True, helps him get points for 2012 election, but it's also a nice gesture for the families and the city. However, you take that event which is politically movitivated, but also has a pretty significant "personal touch" angle, and make it nefarious to feed your constant line of Obama bashing in here.To me, you're playing the more odious political game here because there's really nothing redeeming about what you're doing.

Wow, either strat is a total republican super wacko or he is the best fisherman the innerweb has ever seen...

some times he's kidding, sometimes he's serious and sometimes it's shtick. But you never know until after the fact and until he figures out how it will suit him.

Disagree. He's merely providing information or an alternative way of looking at things that people may otherwise have not encountered. It's your choice how much weight you want to put on that information or perspective or whether you want to accept it at all.
