Zach Miller Dynasty Owners (why me?) (1 Viewer)

Does anyone think this trade of Winslow to SEA just kills Miller's value?? Man I was hoping for a bounce back year. Fat chance at that happening. Sheesh. Why the heck couldn't they have gotten a really good blocking TE on the market and then used Zach Miller split out or as a move TE to utilize his strengths more? Maybe because that would make too much sense and lets face it when was the last time the SEA org made a lot of sense.

The Seahawks only gave up a 7th round pick (conditional to a 6th). I've heard some people remark about "taking on Winslow's contract" as being an indication they think highly of him, but that's not really a fair portrayal. Winslow has already collected the $20mm guaranteed from his big deal with Tampa Bay, and is due $3.3mm this year -- and the Seahawks could cut him after this season with minimal impact. Since the team really couldn't make a young talent like Zach Miller fantasy relevant a season ago, I struggle to see how he's going to be relevant this year with or without KWII, but stranger things have happened.

This offseason I gave Miller a chance to show something this season. The Seattle passing game should see an upgrade with Flynn likely starting. However, that optimism has been dropped with Winslow Jr. entering the mix. KWIII is good for 700+ yards and 4 TD's and I just don't see enough left over for Miller to have any real fantasy relevance.

In all but the largest roster size leagues it's probably drop time for Miller.

Yeah, I also was hoping Miller might return to top-12 form in Seattle in 2012, but even if he does improve, Winslow will drain enough targets to cap Miller's upside. I'm sort of surprised Winslow did not go to the Raiders, since they really need a receiving TE. Maybe we all can keep our fingers crossed that Seattle and Oakland do a reverse swap, and send Zach Miller back to the Raiders ....

I've got Winslow as my TE2 in one league and almost dumped him for Zach Miller a few days ago when there were rumors about Winslow possibly getting cut. That would have been funny

While he isn't the greatest, Winslow is a pretty good blocker. He also has a lot of experience and adds another element to the offense. The trade does limit Miller's upside but having Winslow opposite him will free him up for more pass plays.

I stashed Miller in both leagues when he was dropped last season. Given Winslow's age and injury history, and the fact that I think Miller is a better receiving option (we know he's a better blocker), I'm not exactly in panic mode.

I don't think either of these guys are going to be worth much, unless we have reason to think that Seattle is going to try to implement the NE 2TE offense.

Not all that concerned with Winslow killing Miller's value. Pete Carroll puts a lot of value in players competing in practice. So when Winslow starts wanting to sit out every practice to rest his knees, Carroll will quickly lose patience.
