Zach Miller, TE Seattle (1 Viewer)

Zach Miller was a PPR monster the last 2 years in Oakland. What happened to this guy this year? Tavaris Jackson was without Sidney Rice for 3 games at start of the year and yet, someone like Doug Baldwin could get production, but not Miller? Seattle paid a ton of money to Miller too if I am not mistaken after trading for him. What's the story? Is he injured?

He stayed in blocking a lot and TJ isn't great. He was targeted for a TD he couldn't hold on to week 4 and last week he had a nice start until a cheap shot ($20K fine) concussed him. The OL has improved greatly every game so if he's symptom free after the bye, expect more production.

If you have a fairly deep roster in dynasty I would make the cheap investment, talent trumps situation in the long haul.

I keep thinking the same thing .. that sooner or later a 25 year old with that much talent will bounce back

you have to remember

1. new system

2. new qb

I would agree that it has to be some combination of him blocking a lot, and the system/QB.

This is a guy that put up solid numbers with the likes of Jamarcus Russell and Bruce Gradowski, so clearly it's not from a lack of talent.

i should have said . the last several weeks the TE position has gotten 6 targets each firs Miller and then Mccoy once Miller got hurt

Has he been more involved as of late? He appears to have a good match-up this weekend as Dallas was already among the worst defenses against TEs even before Lee went down. Celek had a huge week once Lee was hurt last week.

The question I guess is whether he is worth acquiring for more than just this Dallas game in redraft at this point.

:goodposting: came here to mention the same thing. Dallas is a great TE matchup, especially with Sean Lee sidelined with that dislocated wrist. If there is ever a week to roll him out then this is it.

Is Miller a dynasty hold or is it time to cut bait? He's got the talent, but in order for him to improve his situation has to dramatically improve. Will the head coach or offensive philosophy change any time in the near future? What about their QB situation? What would have to happen for him to be fantasy-relevant again?

Very strong talent in just a horrible situation.....

Diagree with the "very strong talent" comment. Talented? yes.He was fantasy relevant b/c of his situation. The Raiders made him a feature TE and it was a great situation for him to be in. But he flew the coop for more money and now look at him. Hope he's happy with all that dough. Well at least Al Davis has been proven right in not paying the big bucks for him. He's easily replaceable, and certainly not a difference making player that Seattle thought they were getting. Good on Seattle, and hope they enjoy Bob Girllery as well. BTW, thanks to Seattle for basically paying us to take Aaron Curry off their hands.

I hope they make the mistake of releasing him, thinking he is not worth it and ATL scoops him up cheap for 2012.

That, sir, would make him a hold.

A fantastic hold at that. It wouldn't be the first time an organization just gives up on a guy because he didn't fit their scheme. Not that the Hawks have a scheme at this point.

From the Fleener thread:

Per FFT, AZ has allowed 189.6 points (including 14 TDs) to TEs this year.

Jimmy Graham has scored 191.1 FFO (including 14 TDs).

**************

I'm not sayin' (because to me he looks like a dump truck), I'm just sayin'.

Once upon a time he was a name to watch in FF, but since he's been in Seattle he's done almost nothing, but he has had a couple decent to good games this year.

One was against the Saints, 8/5/86/1 (including a long 60 yard pass where he was the widest of wide open unguarded receivers ever).

The other was against, who else, the Cards: 7/5/40/1.

Most other games he has had 1-3 catches for next to nuthin. There's also another TE, Luke Willson.
