Zealots Cuts (1 Viewer)

I'll answer the questions of others.

We have to cut down to 53 players in a week. I have a league where I'm struggling to pick the last guy to cut.

Here are the guys I'm considering for the cut:

Michael Pittman. He's never going to be more than a bye week guy, and I've got good RB depth.

Noah Herron. I'm not sure of the pecking order in GB or if he has much of a future.

Tim Carter. He's been in the league for quite awhile now and hasn't really done much.

Travis Wilson. He did nothing this year, I'm not sure what the Browns think of him.

Eric Johnson. Davis is taking over there, I don't know if Johnson will get a shot elsewhere.

Erasmus James. He was stinking before the injury, not sure if he's going to be any good.

Stephen Cooper / Omar Gaither / Matt McCoy / Roger McIntosh / Stephen Tulloch. That's a lot of flier LBs - probably too many.

Adam Archuleta. Is he stuck in Washington long-term?

Roman Harper. How's his recovery going? Will he get the job back next season?

I'm focusing mostly on Carter, Archuleta, and the young LBs. Which one of these guys would you drop?

EDIT: It looks like Carter is the unanimous pick. Thanks, everyone. I'll continue to answer people, though I'm on vacation between Christmas and NYD.

I think James, Cooper, Gaither, McIntosh, Tulloch and Harper must stay rostered.I'd probably stick it out with Archuleta for now as he's the most talented player left over. I don't play in any 53 man leagues, but IMO the rest are all expendable. None have proven the ability to be a top 15 player over a long stretch in the past two seasons. All are blocked by better players at this point. Your point about too many LBs is legitimate. If the offensive players have a place on rosters this deep, I'd cut McCoy if you've got a couple other established vets. Otherwise, I can't see Eric Johnson or Tim Carter having any real impact in the long term.

I'd narrow it down to (in order, from most cuttable to least):

Tim Carter.

Matt McCoy

Adam Archuleta.

If you've got 5 or more WRs better than Carter (you should in Zealots), he's the most expendable.

Looking for thoughts on mine (also a Zealots team). I've got to make 4 of these guys go away next week. I've also got to make 13 more avaiable for FA in February.

My thought right now is to cut LeFors, Humes, Randal Williams, & Smoot.

I haven't really started torturing myself yet on the other 13 for the FA period, but will take thoughts on those too.

Uruk -

I agree with LeFors, Humes, Randal Williams, & Smoot. I dont see a lot of point in holding onto Orr either in 12 team leagues ...

Thanks Beau. My rough cut of the 13 to make available for FA in February:Batch - QBBrunell - QBFisher - RBShipp - RBOrr - WRSmith - TEColeman - DLKGB - DLHarris - DLAnderson - LBHenderson - LBBoulware - DBEarl - DB I could get all, some, or none of these guys back depending on how I designate them and how many are actually bid on :lmao:  I'll probably change this list several times before having to declare.

Just a quick glance, but I dont see a point in protecting Kiel. And I would prefer to protect Henderson ...

I think Carter is not worth rostering.

I also have to cut 3 or 4 to roster Greenway, Roman Harper. Mike Vanderjat, Onterrio Smith (not sure Smith is worth carrying at all but you hate to cut a potentially good RB)

Looking at cutting Patrick Ramsey and Glenn Earl having a hard time with coming up with 2 more

QB- Clemens, Griese, P Manning, C Pennington, PS Rosenfels, C Whitehurst

RB- M Bennett, S Davis, R Dayne, C Dillon, R Droughns, C Fason, M Robinson, C Taylor

WR - P Burress, M Floyd, C Henry, TJ Houshmandsadeh, G Jennings, D Stallworth, E Wilford

TE - O Daniels, H Miller

K M Gramatica, D Rayner

DL- V Holliday, A Brown, D Burgess, R Edwards, T Hali, B Thomas

LB - (sure this is where the hard cut should come from) J Beck, A Brooks, S Cooper, K Dansby, O Gathier, T Howard, F Keiaho, S Merriman, B Ruud, S Tulloch, M Vrabel, M Washington, J Williams way too many LBers but so much potential - who would you cut?

DB - C Bailey, A Bethea, S Consideine, J Page, K Rhodes, K Simpson

So do you drop Ramsey, Earl, Smith and which LBer? Or do you hang on to O Smith and who else do you cut. Who do you guys think is the weaklings to be cut out of this herd?

Those are the guys I think are borderline roster guys. I agree to cut Lefors and Humes. For the other two I'd go with Batch and Smoot.

Ramsey, Earl, Considine, and Beck are probably the guys I'd drop. I tend to hoard useless RBs, because sometimes Ron Dayne gets his value back.I left the guys I htink are borderline listed up there. I don't recognize J Williams immediately - who's that?

Jamar Williams rookie LB for Chicago - he is on IR. I don't think you meant to put Rhodes on borderline did you?

Yeah, oops.
this is the much more difficult question to any and all - I too will have to put up 13 to RFA/FA - who would you put out thereSome of my original thoughts would be Stephen Davis, Michael Bennett, Whitehurst, Rosenfels, M Floyd, E Wilford, Vrabel, Washington which is only 8 and leaves me 5 more to pick. :ptts: Any thoughts from you IDP sharks is appreciated - Jene you are one of the head sharks. Please feel free to chime in. It is my understanding that 7 are RFA and I can match bids and 6 are FA that I can bid on also or just cut free. This is my first Zealot off season and I really like the youth and potential and hate to give anybody away!

I think you can cut McCoy. He played poorly this year, and from what I've read here it seems like Gaither has taken his starting spot.

I've cut both Sharper and McCoy from that list already this offseason - I'd also choose McCoy.Sorry for the late response - I was on vacation for a week.I'll start a separate RFA/UFA thread.
