WR Josh Gordon, KC (3 Viewers)

ESPN's Rich Cimini reports the Jets have "some interest" in Josh Gordon.

Earlier, Pro Football Talk passed along a report that the 49ers have interest in Gordon, as well. Cimini calls the Jets' interest merely doing their "due diligence," but it's notable nonetheless. In 2014, reports had the 49ers potentially trading RB Kendall Hunter and a second-round pick to Cleveland for Gordon, but owner Jimmy Haslam nixed the deal. Gordon should resurface with a team this coming week. A clear-cut favorite has yet to emerge.

Bad move brah. Gordon's price has only hit rock bottom, there is plenty of room for him to start digging.
Actually rock bottom is when he's actually playing and posting single digits points.  When he got benched this week, Agoholor's 23 pts slide into the lineup and led my team to a 7-0 week.

As a Saints fan, the thought of him running around the Superdome catching passes from Brees sets my heart all a flutter.

Realistically, there couldn't be a worse destination for him though.  I party less than Mitt Romney and even I get swallowed up by that city.
This used to be a serious recurring problem for the Saints in the old days. But I guess like someone said above it could happen anywhere. These are stars with money and hangers on offering them stuff constantly if they open themselves up to it.

Will apparently be traded by 4pm today.

No clear frontrunner, but have to think one of Philly or NE is one of the 10 teams, considering their receiving options at current time

Dallas seems logical.  They're weak at receiver, plus Jerry Jones has no problem with rostering 'problem' players. Unless he failed a test and the league suspended him, anything would go in the Cowboys locker room.

I thought I read that they weren’t interested or maybe they just hadn’t called yet.

I've been on negative side of the Josh Gordon situation but maybe a change of scenery could re charge him. I'm gonna move the chances of him being fantasy relevant  this year to 11% from 7%.

If they truly want to move him to an NFC team, I'd say that the Eagles & 49ers would be the most likely landing spots for him. I would have said Dallas, but the earlier report says they are not interested.

  • PHI - Just lost Wallace to a potential IR/ season ending injury
  • SF - Goodwin is currently hurt. & even when healthy, he's not the prototypical #1 WR being that he's only 5'9"/5/10" and a buck 80.
This is all just my speculation and I have zero insight inside info here

Gordon is the antithesis of what Belichek covets ... team-player, intelligent, disciplined, fills his role quietly, even if slightly less athletic than others. He wants players that are in the right place at the right time and execute - and abide by a lot of rules.  None of this fits Gordon.

They did take a shot on Moss but let's be real - Moss was a generational talent and wayyy more proven than Gordon.

Philly and Dallas should be trading for him , they make most sense to me as viable contenders sucking wind at WR. Dallas needs him worse IMO but they already said they were not interested. Believe it. Want to know why the Cowboys are kind of boring now and don't make splash off-season moves? Jerry stopped running day to day operations years ago.

For 2018 fantasy purposes hard to think of a more ideal spot then San Fran. Good QB, not a lot at WR especially with Goodwin ailing and most of all familiarity with Kyle which should go a long way towards helping him get up to speed quickly.

I was to busy watching games yesterday to keep up with the latest but has a team other than SF publicly acknowledged interest in him?

I was going to say Moss fit all those characteristics you listed and it worked out pretty well.  Them getting manhandled by the Jags and Brady's slowing down may push him to take the risk again.

Plus I like the idea of Gordon going to a team with a strong and winning culture.  If he is ever going to straighten up that could do it.

I agree.  When your leading receiver is Cole Beasley you have some problems.

Why not just dump him if you are so confident?
Because he might end up somewhere else where a qb under throws while he is running the wrong route and an owner like soulfly will get so jacked that I’ll be able to move him for a wr2

List of Josh Gordon excuses...

1. His QB sucks.  I guess this could be a half dozen excuses if you list each QB.

2. The weather was bad.  It was cold.  It was windy.  The sun was in his eyes.

3. He played a tough D.

4. Cleveland was to competitive, didn't get garbage time points.

5. Coach sucks.

6. His worse game of the year, defiant outlier.

7. QB overthrew him.

8. QB under threw him.
9. Pulled hamstring racing a drone

10. Alarm clock didn’t go off and he missed the team meetings

PER VEGAS:

Josh Gordon - Next Team
49ers   +250
Patriots   +300
Cowboys   +500
Raiders   +600
Seahawks   +700
Cardinals   +1000
Chiefs   +1200
Redskins   +1200
Titans   +1200

Moved him for ARob. Needed someone who wants to play football. If it comes back and bites me at this point I do not care. Feels good to exit this roller coaster.

There are some very, very good landing spots on that list.  Assuming every report from everyone is true and this has nothing to do with drugs and everything to do with the Browns just reaching their breaking point after his hamstring thing, he may have a real shot to contribute in short order on a new team once he's healthy.

Can't understand why the Chiefs are on that list though.  49ers, Patriots, Cowboys, and Seahawks would be great for him as long as he continues to manage his addiction.  Should be a lot clearer 5 hours from now unless the Browns drag this out to get more for him.

I can't wait to see Bill Belichick trade Corey Coleman for Gordon.
BB: You see Hue, Corey Coleman was a first round draft pick. Josh Gordon was only a second round supplemental draft pick. First is better than second, that's math.

HUE: DEAL!!!!

Chiefs....can you imagine?

Still got to get through hamstring issue which I believe is serious enough for him to fly to see a specialist today.

Agreed... but I'd also assume teams will know about that expected timeline before giving up anything for him.  He's a RFA after this season, and any meaningful compensation (and it's being reported that the Browns will get something legit) would indicate a team plans to keep him beyond 2018.  At least I'd think so.
