The thing I remember from say the convention was BLM complaining that Biden was playing lip service and the Dems selected an old white guy.

I wouldn’t say they are the face of the party, ridiculous.

This lady scamming here is bottom of the barrel humanity type stuff IMO. 

These might be my first posts in this thread to be honest. Not educated enough about this to speak of the organization. I’ll defer to the experts in here to defend / define what BLM is, does etc. 

Just thought it was funny to see some MAGA folks piling on the scam artist angle.

Yes but each side thought they were using the other. I said from the start that the DNC saw an opportunity, latched on to the movement and would swiftly discard them once in office. Police unions backed Biden also. You didnt think they were going to let their cities burn forever without eventually cracking skulls.

I don't see BLM riots lasting nearly as long this time but they will be bloody. Just depends how much the media shows. They have a tightrope to walk. Support BLM while portraying Biden as a competent, no nonsense leader who keeps the peace.

Yeah this is nonsense. If BLM was organized enough to want any candidate it would have been Bernie. Totally opposed to the DNC.

And how many corporations donated because "they cared" and let everyone know about it so they could be woke?  They used it as a marketing tool also.  Everyone tried to play each other here.  I guess the head of BLM won, she got 4 houses from it.  Just like donating to political causes and organized religion - Just say no.

Yep, they all got played while treading water in Trump tears. Great point on all the money to nowhere just to be woke. Would be great to see a full accounting of where funds went...Lib media would never allow it though.

Just curious, how would anybody know that?  

Unfortunate situation all around, and I get that people around here really dislike BLM, I just think these types of general statements are a bit silly - claiming people are doing things just to signal, market, or be woke.

These companies were more than giddy to tell everyone.  There were also people keeping score on who wasn’t donating, to shame them or boycott all together.  
 

What has BLM actually done that has helped, especially in the last year?  Those coffers are pretty damn deep.

You're right, hard to tell.

What would be cool is if a corporation made a statement like, we believe the large majority of police officers are not racists and want to do a good job, but policing needs to also improve...and then donated to a charity or started their own to constructively improve police training and tools.  I mean you'd think that would actually help (it would help solve for fewer deaths and if this was the tone of the president and the rest of our leaders it would help stop our nation from burning).

It would be great to see a full accurate accounting but doubt that ever comes out. A great example of how dangerous what the MSM feeds its base can be.

Last I saw, she, personally, had a book deal, and a TV/Movie content deal - both of which presumably payed her millions.

Where do you see that she has taken "most of $100M" for personal use?

ETA:  honestly, I can't answer the second question.  it's a reason I don't donate to much without really looking at what is going on.

Personally I'd prefer it if a company or corporation just shut the hell up and sold me their product. I don't need their political beliefs on every ####### issue. The demand for such by the outrage mob is tiresome.

This is still what bothers me - this is the Tucker approach.  Divert the criticism to the org and the criticism of the purpose and everyone believing there is a race concern in police incidents  follows.

I still can’t connect on your point.

Jason Whitlock has been banned from Twitter for posting about this.  Twitter claims it was due to "revealing personal information" by linking to a story.  But, as noted in the article, "There was no explanation of how linking to the Dirt.com story revealed personal information as neither the story, nor Whitlock's tweet, listed an address - and the purchase also was discussed widely elsewhere on Twitter and reported throughout the press.".

So, basically just censorship to quash criticism of BLM.  I wonder if they just pick a reason from a hat - "let's quash this Hunter Biden story on pretext A" and "let's quash critics of BLM with pretext B"...

Whitlock is one of those guys who makes some good points (and some bad ones), but gets way too preoccupied with trying to provoke people.  In that respect, he is tailor-made for Twitter.

If you have valid rationale for the law, but it affects some groups more than others, I'd be interesting in the reasons, and possible corrections, for that disparity more so than the law itself.

I was chagrined this past summer by all the corporations jumping into the BLM fray. They already apparently own us and our government in ways indescribable yet felt (did somebody come begging for a bailout recently?). I don't need crappy woke politics to go along with it. Just terrible all around. Go home. Go away.
