New ABC/Post poll of Trump approval rating just out:

Whites: 53% approve, 44% disapprove

Blacks: 11% approve, 83% disapprove

Hispanics: 16% approve, 81% disapprove

Would Trump be stupid enough to just post the White % And leave off the others?
Close...

Just hit 50% in the Rasmussen Poll, much higher than President Obama at same point. With all of the phony stories and Fake News, it’s hard to believe! Thank you America, we are doing Great Things.

As the FBI continues to chip away at Cohen - file this one away as one that Trump got right:

After years of Comey, with the phony and dishonest Clinton investigation (and more), running the FBI, its reputation is in Tatters - worst in History! But fear not, we will bring it back to greatness.

Back when men were men and women had no rights.

true or false?

Rasmussen does automated surveys over landlines - not cell phones.
A note about Rasmussen

- uses automated recordings (conservatives are less likely to engage with a live pollster)
- only dials landlines (conservatives are more likely to own a landline)
- only dials numbers published in the phone book (conservatives are less likely to have an unpublished number)
- only calls during dinner hours (conservatives are more likely to be home)
- does not call back if phone is not answered (conservatives are more likely to be home, and therefore more likely to answer)
- only polls people who self-identify as "likely voters" (conservatives are much more likely to self-identify as "likely voters", especially when it's not election season)
- weighs results to account for party affiliation (this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but when you consider all of the other things Rasmussen does that skew conservative, this final move amounts to a "double dip")

Not sure if posted yet... but Alex Jones seems upset (nsfw)

I wonder how many voters follow Alex Jones.  If Alex Jones turns on Trump, how many will stay home?

This is interesting

https://www.quantcast.com/infowars.com#/geographicCard

FL, PA, OH all have over 100k Alex Jones listeners.  If Jones completely turns on Trump, and enough of those listeners buy what Jones says, it might be enough to flip some states.  I know I'm reading into a great deal here, and Jones is just a drama queen who will probably be in love with Trump in a few days, but I thought it was interesting enough to share.

I had never actually seen Alex Jones, except a few meme clips. I have two observations:

1. The kid on his show needs to work on his commitment to the bit.

2. In the “methinks the lady doth protest too much” category, he has tasted a peen. Or, at least, pleasured himself like a baboon in a new cage fantasizing about it. He is also likely a coprophiliac.

So, old people.

William Manchester, writing about Senator Joe McCarthy:

He lacked the genius of Huey Long and the faith in himself. What he had going for him was a phenomenal ability to lie and an intuitive grasp of the American communications industry. That and ruthlessness. If he had a creed it was nihilism, a belief in nothing, or next to nothing. He enjoyed reading his name in the newspapers.

In the end, China will seek to usurp the US as world superpower by financing and backing a civil war inside the US.  But we did it to ourselves.  We failed to listen to each other.  We got intolerant of each each other.  Banning those we disagree with and calling each other racist until we can no longer get along. Like little children, we tore everything apart.  China is just being an opportunist.

You forgot about electing Trump as President as well.  That's the nail in the coffin.

No, Beej. Fox and Breitbart and the rest of the gang just made a big segment of the right wing crazy. We on the left are gonna get re-enfranchised and make all of you sane and whole again.

Kellyanne Conway said Trump is perplexed at the attention Comey is receiving:

"Narcissist baffled as to why anyone else is getting attention."

Absolutely

Pruitt insisted on staying in luxury hotels that were costlier than allowed by government standards, while also pushing to fly on an airline not on the government’s approved list so he could accrue frequent flier miles, according to a top former deputy.

“Pruitt would often seek to schedule trips back to Oklahoma, where he still owns a home, so he could stay there for weekends. ‘Find me something to do,’ were the instructions Mr. Pruitt gave his staff, after telling them he wanted to travel to particular destinations.”

Reminds me of a funny story.  I used to be a government attorney in which part of the job was to negotiate with [redacted], which meant traveling to locations that were often next to either casinos or spas or resorts.  I was traveling once with an attorney who worked for me, and saw him waiting at the baggage claim.  I carried my bag so was already heading to pick up the rental car, and saw him.  I was like, "listen, I'll wait for you here, and then we can drive to the hotel together."  He was a little skittish, and kept insisting that I head to the hotel and he'd catch the shuttle there and meet me.  "You must be tired!  Just go on back.  I'll catch the hotel shuttle."  I thought, "what a nice guy to put himself out like that."  And then I saw the golf clubs pop out of the baggage claim, and the sheepish look he gave when he picked them up.

Moral:  Pruitt has no shame.

Wait, there's a problem with scheduling work trips around where one can play golf and squeezing in an 18 here or there after a morning hearing/seminar/etc.?

No, if done right (a big if), there is room, even in the federal government, for doing stuff like this.  But most folks with a conscious will at least be a little bashful about it, and make extra sure that they don't have an appearance of doing something wrong, even if they know they are legally in the rights.

Which is my point, Pruitt appear to have no conscience.

Standards question for @FoxNews:

did Sean Hannity disclose to his managers that he was discussing his own lawyer whenever he talked about Michael Cohen? Or that his conversations with Cohen could be on those seized phone recordings?

Or that his relationship with Donald Trump was even closer than friends and fellow travelers and included being represented by the same lawyer? If he did disclose it and was allowed to go forward w/o telling his viewers, that's as problematic as if he kept management in the dark.

From the WaPo article on Corker

On one occasion last June, Corker was at the White House to name a post office after the late Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson when Trump called him into the Oval Office. There, surrounded by top aides, the president sat in front of a speakerphone talking to King Salman of Saudi Arabia. Corker, according to two people familiar with the meeting, was there to help the president take a tough line on the Saudi’s actions in Qatar. Days earlier, the king had severed ties with Qatar and led a campaign to isolate the tiny energy-rich country, raising U.S. concerns that the move could impact a key U.S. military base.

In a photo of the call taken by a White House photographer, Corker leans on the Resolute Desk, whispering in the president’s ear. But when the king opened with lavish praise for Trump, the president’s fortitude melted away and he told aides, “I like the king.”

They already do. 12 years ago the Iraq War was a moral cause and anyone who dared oppose it was unamerican; remember how the Dixie Chicks were banned from country music stations for a few critical words?

By the time Trump ran for President, no conservative has ever been in favor of that war.
Well that entire war has been an unmitigated disaster which lead directly to ISIS. The faulty “evidence” presented by W and Cheney should go down as one of the worst decisions ever made by this country.   I still wonder if W was duped by Cheney

Spotlight to Comey.

And away from Trump.

THAT'S the problem in Don's eyes.
