Ref spewing on Payton.
Was holding on for his life I think.that face mask was the most egregious call I've seen. He kept yanking it.
Thats just your opinion.that face mask was the most egregious call I've seen. He kept yanking it.
It was a "I'll commit the penalty to block the touchdown" playthat face mask was the most egregious call I've seen. He kept yanking it.
Some good games todayWow this is the reason we still love football.
Meh....Packers can lose to about anyone at this point. Sure...if Rodgers can get hot and the D can get turnovers they have a shot...especially if they can get a bye and a home game.49ers-Saints-Hawks-Vikings-Packers are just going to be some slobberknockers in the playoffs. Hopefully someone in the East will get it together too
Seattle will have a say.NFC championship preview
I'd bet on it ending similarly
Is Williams the same guy who blew the coverage for the game-winning Diggs TD in the 2017 playoffs? How an NFL player can try to tackle like that is beyond me. You're taught in HS how to tackle..... LOL, what an idiot
I think the D is capable of stepping up, they've shown it at timesMeh....Packers can lose to about anyone at this point. Sure...if Rodgers can get hot and the D can get turnovers they have a shot...especially if they can get a bye and a home game.
Vikings, Saints, and 49ers definitely look like the class of the NFC
I certainly hope so...I think the D is capable of stepping up, they've shown it at times
Please explain how that works when there is no punter. In a punt formation, you can do whatever you want to the gunner. Fake or not, jamming is legal. The defender doesn't know it's a fake. He's not looking backwards. There's never PI on a fake punt.
Not sure, but I think soIs Williams the same guy who blew the coverage for the game-winning Diggs TD in the 2017 playoffs?
My mistake. I thought an element of intent entered into it.You don't have to lead with the crown if ots forcible contact to the head.
“Prohibited contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture is:
forcibly hitting the defenseless player’s head or neck area with the helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder, even if the initial contact is lower than the player’s neck, and regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenselessplayer by encircling or grasping him“

They still should have flagged defensive holding on that, I have a feeling the NFL made a point to highlight that play because the Rams just got penalized for holding the gunner on a punt return. It's the rule
Edit: it's not that hard, it's determined by formation. Like everything else.
Thanks. Obviously holding was still available, the defender had his wrapped around Smith’s jersey for 10 yards at least, and the funny thing is if that *was a punt they would have called holding on SF. The ref got confused and blew it and that’s pretty much the sum of it.
