How 'bout them Reds! (2 Viewers)

is Arroyo healthy?
When wasn't he?
Looks healthy, but he's cut his hair.
i haven't seen him, but i understand he has his hair in cornrows....in honor of Bo Derek and his way of getting to "10" wins.
Oh...that might be. I just glanced and saw it wasn't flowing out the back of his hat....further examination is needed. Stand by....
You are correct. On a side note....WTF is that on Spezio's chin?? He has one of those clumps of hair between his lip and chin and it's died bright red....WTF?!?!?!??!

Can't see the game here at work, but according to this, that run Arroyo just gave up was earned. Don't see how that can be.
Eckstein got a hit.....Edmonds singled and drove him in...why wouldn't that be an ER??
Note that they changed it. Eckstein wouldn't have been on second if it wasn't for Phillips error.

Interesting move intentionally walking Howard with men on 1st and 2nd already to make the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the 14th...

It was absolutely stupid!!!List of Narron's idiotic moves tonight:-Took EdE out in the 8th (oh, he only had gone yard twice in the game and accounted for every one of Cincy's runs).-Had Harang warm up and pitch the 13th and only the 13th. WTF?!? If you're using a starter, don't use him for just one inning!!!-Warming up Arroyo in the 13th...WTF x2?!?-Using tomorrow's (today for you "day" people) starter in relief in the 14th. Mind you it seems as though he is "still" tipping his pitches...grrrrrrrrr-And the grand, wonderful finale...with men on 1st and 2nd and noone out, walking the bases loaded...so, instead of a hit (any hit, mind you, so Ryan Howard's power does NOT affect the game, as a single = a win anyway) being the only way to score the winning run, now a fly ball to the OF, a WP, a passed ball, a balk, a walk, or a hit now wins the game...Don't get me wrong, the team did NOT help itself with some terrible on-field play, but Narron hindered the team, he did not help them.-fe

Other than watching our closer implode twice, it was a great series. Every time I write these guys off (about 43 times now), they come right back.

Just what we needed:

The Cincinnati Reds acquired left-hander Scott Schoeneweis from Toronto on Wednesday for a player to be named or cash.

The move came two days after the Reds learned that left-handed reliever Kent Mercker will need reconstructive surgery on his left elbow. Mercker has a torn ligament and tendon in the elbow.

The Reds transferred Mercker to the 60-day disabled list Wednesday. They expected Schoeneweis to arrive in St. Louis on Wednesday night, when the teams play the second game in their series.

Schoeneweis is the seventh pitcher acquired in the last six weeks by the Reds, who have stayed in playoff contention by remaking their bullpen. A 5-0 loss in St. Louis on Tuesday night left Cincinnati in second place in the NL Central, 2 1/2 games behind the Cardinals.

The 32-year-old Schoeneweis went 2-2 with a 6.51 ERA in 55 games for the Blue Jays this season. He is 41-47 career with a 5.09 ERA in nine seasons with Toronto, the Angels and the White Sox. :yucky:

Many AL pitchers have come to the NL and done a decent job. Time will tell with this one...

The Cards picked up Jeff Weaver who was like 3-13 with the Angels and he's done pretty well for us. Don't lose hope. And nice win last night. I think every Cardinal pitcher has whiplash from looking back over their shoulders to see the ball sky out of the ballpark....

What do you call "pretty well"? He is 2 - 4, giving up 48 hits in only 30 innings of work. ERA of 6.75 in his last 3. Um, that sucks.

Considering the rest of the staff outside of Carpenter.....Yeah,,,,,

And over the last 4 season, he has an ERA of 1.09 in September. I think I'm going to trust WayneK on this one.-fe

That means exactly squat. He sucks. Krivsky is a wack job.
 Yup, Brandon Phillips for free. Dumb move. Arroyo for WMP...another idiotic move, eh? Kyle Loshe: 3 starts and a sub-2 ERA. Gimme that wack job every day of the week, PLEASE!-fe
It was a good move. Not really all that hard to claim a guy off waivers that was once highly regarded though. Arroyo was good. Lohse sucks and will always suck. He's a fluke. Trading Kearns and Lopez for garbage was stupid. All of the relievers he's picked up suck, save Bray. Nice job.

Lohse - 1.65 ERA with the Reds. AND our 2nd two-TD game in a week.

Kyle Lohse says hi.And if Krivsky does NOT win the GM of the Year, that's straight criminal.-fe

Well, if you took the entire Reds bullpen prior to the All Star break and had them pitch in the AL, their combined ERA would have been over 10.00... The 6.75 A.L. ERA is probably equivalent to a 5.0 in the NL and is a better-than-average Cincinnati pitcher  .

i haven't been watching the starting lineup that closely....has Narron managed to not juggle people all over the place?

he has to find a way to get Freel and Aurilia in there every night.

Freel LF......Right Handed Bat

Hatteberg 1B......Left Handed Bat

Aurilia SS......RH Bat

Griffey CF......LH Bat

Encarcion 3B......RH Bat

Dunn 1B......LH Bat (although he probably belongs in Griffey's slot)

Phillips 2B.....RH Bat

Ross C......RH Bat

Izzy just blew the save....thats icing, baby!
As a Cardinal fan, Izzy makes me want to slit my throat.....or his.I can't believe La Russa won't take the closer job from him. He is blowing way too many saves at this point in the season. Wainwright is a much better option at this point, but LaRussa is too f@#!$* proud and too much of a player's buddy to make that move. But then again, LaRussa looked really pissed after Izzy gave up that bomb.Either way, the Cards will win the division and the Reds should be happy with the wildcard. :boxing:

I don't think we're going to see Phillips at second until next year.
