Good riddance
Or what if he did, he does die, and a big chunk of that money goes to Jimmy? Jimmy even said in the episode that there aren't many left in the McGill family, so who else would get the money?Hopefully he didn't cash that check
Of course he did; it was suicideObviously Chuck was a smart dude, but was he so out of it that he was just so focused on turning off anything that resembled electricity that he didn't realize the lantern could start a fire?
Im only asking this in the context of the check being cashed. If he didn't realize it, he may not have cashed the check yet.
If he did know what he was doing and didn't cash it, that meant he still wanted to save the firm.
But im guessing we'll never know

His voice inflection was perfect too - you could tell immediately who it was supposed to be.The kid who played young Chuck in that opening scene was a dead ringer.
Yeah I thought that was obvious - AMC even had the suicide hotline number come up at the end.He killed himself dude
That's why i think he's still alive, cuz his money would have gone to the NM Symphony Orchestra .- a much more prestigious organization than the APO - and saved it in '03, but it ended up going bankrupt.Or the Abq Philharmonic or something like that - maybe he left Jimmy the money in his checking account, which was never more than a few thousand bucks - until that one fateful day...
"And to my beloved brother Jimmy, who was so fond of handling the small change at our parents' store, I leave the small change in my checking account."
He was there - you just didnt know itNo Mike in the season finale?
Wow. I thought it was great.Season finale was awful.
Pretty good season other that that.
pretty good pajama butt anyway, malik - the kind you can whup w a car antennaalso in the last episode, I don't really think Kim is attractive, but she did look pretty good in the jeans. maybe after the accident, we'll get an open-in-the-back hospital gown flash.
it was a great episode.Wow, people think the finale was awful? I must have been watching a different show.
It's what makes him such a fascinating character - Gus would have had no problem tying the Jefe to a chair, lancing his cojones with a boltcutter and cramming em down his throat, but not attempting CPR would have been indecent. The reason Gus was trying to save Hector is the same reason he wouldn't let Mike kill him. He said earlier this season he wants Hector to to die a much more painful and slow death. My spanish is rusty but I'm pretty sure he was saying "Don't die yet, #######" as he was giving him CPR.
I was a few minutes behind real time on my DVR so when it was over, Talking Saul was on. Some interesting insights - they were definitely leaning towards one side of the "is Chuck dead" question even though nothing's been written yet for next season. What was the Bradbury story Gould was talking about being the inspiration for Chuck tearing apart the house? The Conversation?Did anyone else watch Talking Saul afterwards and see Nacho is Canadian??? I was stunned. And where has this been for 30 episodes?
The Conversation was a reference to this classic scene from the sneakygood 70s Coppola film. The story McKean referred to i dont knowI was a few minutes behind real time on my DVR so when it was over, Talking Saul was on. Yeah thanks. Don't know why I was thinking Bradbury. The Conversation was a reference to this classic scene from the sneakygood 70s Coppola film. The story McKean referred to i dont know
The Fruit at the Bottom of the Bowl was the Bradbury story McKean used to set his emotional criteria for performing the sceneYeah thanks. Don't know why I was thinking Bradbury.
Nice catch!!!Loved seeing Hector lay that money down on the counter right next to a bell. Foreshadowing.
Maybe Mike has had those conversations with Gus over the course of a few episodes...So did I miss something in this episode or a previous one?
how is gus on to Nacho? The look he gave him at the first meeting and fit and then the last one in the finale?

If anyone would know....I think Vince is getting a little full of himself. I found this season very slow moving and annoying. I think they could have covered everything in half of the episodes.

It was Jimmy that sent him into his tailspin. Given the beginning of the show I assumed he had some sort of major guilt going on on with Jimmy. Something made him crazy, he couldn't take it anymore, including the guilt or stress of living with Jimmy whom he could not defeat, so he killed himself and the lantern at the end was like the lantern at the beginning.Tiger Fan said:Obviously Chuck was a smart dude, but was he so out of it that he was just so focused on turning off anything that resembled electricity that he didn't realize the lantern could start a fire?

Not really. It was a final homage to one of the most influential characters in this particular series to date. Pretty clear that this "sickness" of chucks is derived from his poor treatment of Jimmy and is what the main trigger point is. I think Chuck finally realizes this and cannot live with himself of how terrible he has been over the years.shadyridr said:it was a very weak finale
It works, but Howard's the last link. Wife, brother, partner. Nobody...............................................................nobody left. Only the law left and the only place the law actually works is in his head.It was Jimmy that sent him into his tailspin. Too simple?
