a newer song you love? (1 Viewer)

Two really great songs--not super new (like 2016 ish)--but definitely worth a listen.

Joywave- Destruction

Joywave Tongues

If you are a country fan--this next two are fantastic songs by yelawolf of all people.  I know he's a rapper--but don't let that stop you from listening.

Devil in my veins

This last one is also more country--but regardless of what you are a fan of--listen to this song solely for the rap that Eminem ends the song with--seriously one of the best I've ever heard.  Best friend by Yelawolf (em's rap starts at the 2;20 mark)

Spotlighting the first two tracks from what I expect will be my #1 album at year-end

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - Hope the High Road

Lots of political overtones in this one, but the song is quick (just over 3:00) and easy to catch the lyrics (even more so with them in the video).  Released a few weeks ago, it's been on my heavy rotation playlist since day one.  Nice smooth guitar work from Jason and Sadler Vaden.  After scores of listens, I still love Amanda's subtle backing vocals being higher in the mix as the song progresses.

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - Cumberland Gap

Just getting this one into my heavy rotation playlist as it was just released last week.  Still not sure I love it as much as "Hope the High Road", but I have only listened to it 5-6 times so far.  Knowing how my interest in Isbell songs evolve from the past, it will probably take seeing this one played live to have the lightbulb of interest go off.

New arcade fire single is out.  Not a bad song but was hoping they would move on from the Haitian island beat sound.

An awesome newer song with a video that is equally awesome. Seeing Dave Grohl as a Gandalf looking old man performing in a senior living facility is priceless--and yes--the video also features some granny boobs. Run by Foo Fighters.

also--as you can tell by this thread--I've been on a Joywave kick recently--and the song and video for Somebody New is pretty cool.

Apparently I'm trying to single handedly double the popularity of Joywave--but they just keeping coming out with great music. Their new song "It's a Trip" is very cool and catchy. Not only that--the video does feature a scantily clad female that is worth giving me likes for even if you listen to the song on mute.  Enjoy the song and the lovely female:

What the actual #### is with the finger snapping in just about every pop song nowadays.  It is the most annoying thing to me.  I cannot listen when in the car with the kids.  I have to change the channel.  It actually angers me a little bit.  Reminds me of people scraping their forks across their teeth when eating.

Portugal. The Man--Rich Friends.    First time that I heard this song--I loved it.  The first time that I saw the video for this song--I loved it even more.  The video is frigging great---a great concept and super funny at the same time.  I do have to disclaim that the video does feature some alcohol and drug references (trying to comply with the new manifesto)--so do not click if those types of references offend you.

Liam Gallagher - Wall of Glass

From NME

Liam added: “But I do wish a lot of these ####### bands would do a bit of jousting or whatever it is. It’s all got very ####### boring, ya know. It’s got nothing to do with pop or Simon Cowell or any of these ####s, its got to do with you [presumably Noel], you ####### ####. You’ve got the tools to make guitar music dangerous but you’re not doing it, you’re choosing to join their gang, just to be on the ####### radio. You’re not gonna get a watered-down version of me, ever. I’d rather stay true to myself. I’m not ####### diluting it to get on ####### Radio 1 or Radio 2 or Radio 900. It ain’t happening. There’s the record, play it or don’t play it.”

This isn't the place - nin.

Mostly instrumental, but really well layered. Really grows on you. Surprisingly, as I haven't cared for much of Reznor's work after The Fragile. Of course, that happens to be after he cleaned up after almost OD'ing.
