***Official "Space Blanket" for Better Call Saul*** (2 Viewers)

Kim is the one who loses law license right?  That's where this is headed.
As soon as that scene happened, I was like, "That guy is going to see Saul on TV or something and complain to someone that he was told he was a DA.  She'll get in trouble for it and that'll be the end of her and Jimmy.  I'm guessing that will happen with about 4 episodes left, so we can see him spiral out of control for a little bit before the end of the season.

I think this is where we are headed: Kim eventually "breaks bad", helps Saul build his criminal-adjacent enterprise, we find out Saul had to leave behind Kim (and a kid?) when the Walt stuff went down, and Gene/Saul decides to risk his freedom by re-connecting with Kim, she's moved on, and Gene/Jimmy/Saul turns himself in to finally take responsibility for all his misdeeds.

I’m confused. Are you making fun of me or is your old man memory bad, too?
My old man memory is good enough to remember that "Did he even do anything illegal?" is fantastic FFA shtick, but not good enough to remember the exact context in which the original quote appeared. I'm about 60% sure it had something to do with Breaking Bad ... but it could have been something entirely different.

It was breaking bad. Woz, iirc, asked if Saul had really committed any crimes. Lead to like 3 pages worth of jokes.

Wow. So I not only forget what he did wrong but I also forgot shtick? I think I have dementia.

My old man memory is failing me here.  What exactly did he do again?  I know he's on the run, but what are his crimes?

Fellow old man here, and I'm thinking this too. As best I can remember, he was duped into thinking the cartel was coming for him (I think he thinks Jesse is dead - fake photo that Hank made.) So he may have nothing at all to worry about? I think?

ETA - assuming I'm correct (huge assumption),  timeline-wise, would the news of Jesse's imprisonment/etc even reach Omaha? Maybe Gene sees that on TV and thinks "hey, wait..."

My memory is pretty uncertain. But I vaguely remember it being in the Breaking Bad thread, and I vaguely remember Woz being involved, but I thought he might have provided a serious answer rather than being the one to ask the question.
Your recollection sounds more likely to me.

Admittedly, I just remember the joke.

I don't think they ever said what his crimes specifically were, but Saul didn't go to Ed the Disappearer for no reason.  The feds are no dummies and once Walt was outed as Heisenberg, I am sure it didn't take long for them to connect Saul to some of the criminal activity, especially since they had Huell in custody and he likely spilled his guts after having the crap scared out of him.  Remember that they were after Jesse as well (as we saw in El Camino), so it wasn't just Walt they were after; they were after his closest associates as well.  And they had extra motivation since it was their belief that Walt (at the very least) was responsible for the disappearance and likely death of two feds (Hank and Steve Gomez).

My horrible middle-aged memory makes me realize that I need to stop coming into this thread since I've forgotten most of the specifics of Breaking Bad, so all this talk about those connections from BCS to BB are just spoliers that I could blissfully remain unaware of and enjoy this show as a fresh experience.

I will say, though, that I agree with the comments about the meth addict 1/2 off crime spreed and the house shopping scenes were too drawn out. I actually fast forwarded through tthe last half of the meth scenes since I could tell that they were intentionally trying to make it go on and on and on and would end with some kind of 1/2 off joke. Still love the show though.

Now, so far, we have what appears to me to be a series of victimless crimes.

What about the toe?!

Forget about the ####### toe!

The scene with Mike yelling at his grandaughter seemed so forced.  Thought it was fine up with just his facial reactions, but when he verbally blew up on her...it just felt weird.  I think they could've achieved what the wanted to in a different manner.

Admittedly, I'm nit picking....but it just bothered me

It seemed way out of character.  Of course, I might not be remembering an important part of the show, but I thought his granddaughter was pretty much like his whole life.  But at my age with my memory, when stuff like this happens in a show, I just chalk it up to me forgetting something.

I don't think you are. I agree it seemed our of character but assume it's leading to something.

Mike snapped at his granddaughter because his job is stressful and he was on very little sleep.  Part of his Breaking Bad journey will be to estrange himself from his DIL and granddaughter, to protect them. I bet he runs them out of town.

without a doubt....i just thought it could've been done better...that's all

Watching on DVR and just stopped after the opening scene.

Who THE HELL came up with that idea? Am I really high or was that one of the most incredible shots/ideas?

As always, Enjoyed the Mike scenes and the scene with Walt, Saul and Krazy-8 was gold.

Everything with Kim is just getting old.. We get it, she's conflicted.. Time for her, and her storyline, to go :bye:

Wow that was a great episode. On par with any episode of breaking bad imo
100% agree, been saying this for a while.

The beer bottle symbolism was amazing.  Wife was asking why she kept looking at the beer bottle so I had to explain it to her so the next scene I said watch, she will set hers on the edge or she will knock it off..........well no, let's just throw the whole 6 pack out into the parking lot.   This show is headed for some big happenings, especially with Kim.

i loved it.   Can someone refresh my memory of how Saul got hooked up with Nacho to start with... I know it had to do with tuco but I dont remember exactly

Kim is Jimmy's impending tragedy, without her, and that he never fully becomes Saul.  Her conflicts really aren't much to do with her, as far as the series goes.  Her demise is going to be in the very last few episodes ever of this series and I wish they'd string it out 10 seasons instead of just one.

 at this point I don't care what happens to her character.. IMO, she's been the weak link of the entire series..

Wait.  Who's Walt?

Great episode this week, but thought the gang not jumping Mike seemed strange. I doubt they’d really be afraid of one old white guy when there was 5 or 6 of them.
