So it is interesting that most people would consider Steffen the #1 right now, but he has not has a chance to make his stamp on the team the way both Horvath and Turner grabbed their chances by the throat.
Musah v Acosta next to McKennie has to be in Berhalter's mind too. A midfield of Weston-Acosta-Adams would be hard to break down. Acosta's not as progressive, but he can move the ball and he's good on set pieces too. If this summer is who Acosta is, I don't see how you can keep him off the field.
Robinson would probably be my choice as the "other" CB right now too. If he can complement Brooks.
Not sure how you even decide with Steffan and Turner, but if it was me I'd have a short leash with Steffan. Turner's like a drunken martial artist sometimes, but when the fight ends you look around and he's still the last one standing.
Williamson helped his cause a lot too IMO. He'll see minutes even if he's not in the first 23.
Sands is probably the 3rd #6 and the 6th CB. So he's probably depth at this point and I wouldn't be surprised if he's not in Qatar.
I know this is deeply unpopular, but I could easily see the top two #9s being Sarge and Pefok right now. Zardes gives you everything he's got and runs all day, but I think the others might just be better. Where Hoppe fits in is TBD, but he'll see minutes for sure. Dike may be fairly far down the pecking order right now.
Lletget, Arriola, Vines are pure depth plays.
Moore and Cannon are probably locks now unless Reynolds can force his way in. Yedlin, may actually be on the outside right now.
What a summer.
