Street named after James in his hometown. Some nice pics of former cast members there at the ceremony if you feel like googling.

Janice didn't find it a bit odd, sticking a vibrator up Ralphie's ###?
If Richie's mounting her with the gun to her head didn't faze her, then probably not much does.

I am grateful Chase never had a scene where the pachyderm Baccala mounted her--that would have been gruesome.
I almost would have preferred that over Vito making out with Johnnycakes.

Almost.
I dunno. Bobby/Janice copulation has to get a slight edge over Vito and Johnnycakes spooning. The train wreck factor alone.

Have the box set... Watched the whole thing in 2 weeks back in 2009 after surgery.

Been watching a few of the episodes on HBO recently. Catching the fever again, show is so good! About to do the whole series all over.

Definitely good but some of the side storylines are just embarrassing (Furio, AJ construction, Janice bobby/ralphie etc)

Top shelf show though that probably went on a season or two too long

After watchng the whole series on demand, I'm glad Tony got whacked in front of his famly. He deserved it and so did they.
Love to hear more of these thoughts of yours...
HaHa. In the end Tony isn't an anti hero, he is a villan. In fact the main villan that destroys all the real anti heros that come along. His immediate family at their cores recognize this and turn the blind eye to it. Most importantly Meadow and Carmella recognize this, not being the idiot AJ is. They make their peace and go on. But thats why Tony has to die at the end of the series. The only people that don't become corrupted by Tony's influence are the ones that reject his attempts to get closer to him, most notabley Dr. Melfi.

That's a nice opinion you have there.

Yeah but I think I can back it up. One of the key scenes of the Series is when Melfi reads the paper defining the crimially pyschotic personality and realizes that is Tony. She has spent the whole series making progress and trying to help him and finally gives up the cause. Instructive. Where do any of Tony's nobler or even normal dreams come to fruition? He never stands up even to have honor among theives. He betrays guys after openly supporting them, see Vito and his cousin getting the shotgun blast to the head. In the end he is hte motive force for all the evil done in the series.

Is there anyone that doesn't become corrupted by Tony's influence that doesn't have their lives destroyed? Melfi realized it way back when she didn't go to Tony in regards to her rapist.

Trying to remember if Tony was responsible for killing anybody who wasn't in on the game or didn't deserve it.

How are those storylines "embarrassing?" Just about every scene with Janice was gold.

Was Tony responsible for any killings to people outside of the game or who didn't have it coming? I can't remember any, but it's been awhile.

Whose idea was it to have the dinner in AC when the waiter got killed in the parking lot?

Actually, that dude bashed pissing away money on gambling/booze/whores, so he falls under your second condition.

Furio/Carm was cringeworthy at times. Everytime they would cut to Carmella waiting at Furio's door with AJ, I'd audibly groan. Not only did I not care, but it pissed me off they cut the nuts off Furio, who started off so well when he collected from the spa guy and his Asian lady.

Didn't have an issue with AJ's construction or fling with Blanca.

I don't think so. IIRC, people who were killed or injured badly on the show who weren't "connected," in every case, the perpetrator was someone other than Tony.

Like Paulie and Chrissy taking out the waiter.

Or Chrissy shooting the bakery guy in the foot.

Or Paulie strangling the old lady.

Or Ralphie killing the stripper.

I might be not remembering something, but the worst thing Tony physically did to a person who wasn't connected was grabbing that Russian guy by the balls. "You gotta problem besides those ####in' pants?!"

Wiki has a full list of the people Tony was directly responsible for killing===============================

Tony has personally committed eight murders in the show. Furthermore, as a Boss, he is responsible for the deaths of others killed on his orders. The eight known murders, all explicitly presented onscreen, were:

Willie Overall, shot and killed by Tony to "make his bones" (become a made man) (1982, shown in "Remember When").

Fabian "Febby" Petrulio, strangled by Tony for ratting out members of Paulie and #####'s crew and joining the witness protection program (1999, shown in "College").

Chucky Signore, shot and killed by Tony for conspiring to kill him with Junior (1999, in "I Dream of Jeannie Cusamano").

Matthew Bevilaqua, killed by Tony and Big ##### for attempting to kill Christopher Moltisanti (Tony's protégé and cousin in-law) (2000, shown in "From Where to Eternity").

Salvatore "Big #####" Bonpensiero, executed by Tony, Silvio, and Paulie on a yacht, after they discovered that he was an FBI informant (2000), shown in "Funhouse").

Ralph Cifaretto, choked/bludgeoned to death in a fight over Ralph's supposedly killing of their prize-winning race horse "Pie-O-My" for insurance money. (2002, shown in "Whoever Did This").

Tony Blundetto, shot and killed by Tony with a shotgun for the unauthorized killings of Joe Peeps and Billy Leotardo, in order to spare him from being the subject of torture from Phil Leotardo in revenge for his brother's death (2004, shown in "All Due Respect").

Christopher Moltisanti, suffocated by Tony when after a major car accident Christopher revealed he was still using drugs (2007, shown in "Kennedy and Heidi").

Vito shooting the owner of the car he rear-ended (no pun intended) as he fled new Hampshire was one of the more pointlessly cold-blooded moments on the show.

I'm not sure it was pointless as far as the narrative; they just wanted to show Vito's level of desperation and the depths he sunk to. But as far as the visual alone, yeah, it was pretty uncomfortable.

Not at times. Always. Absolutely horrible storyline. The only redeeming aspect was it resulted in one of the greatest Tony-Carm scenes ever. As great as that scene was, though, it doesn't erase all the craptitude that led up to it.

Starting over with Season 1 of the Sopranos this past weekend reminded me of two things:

1. The Carm/Father Intintola storyline was also cringeworthy

2. The Tony/Junior scene where Junior becomes the Boss of Jersey is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series. Junior's eye movements alone before he was told and right afterwards were just phenomenal.

Who is this motherless ####'s name?

This was excellent BTW. He was beloved by everyone.
I saw a long interview with Julia-Louis Dreyfus not too long ago. I thought she was doing schtick, but wasn't quite sure. Her persona was all sarcasm and eye-rolling. She seemed to be doing some kind of combination of Elaine and the Veep. It was only when the subject of the movie she and Gandolfini starred in came up that I knew she had been goofing around with the interviewer. Her whole demeanor changed. The smirk on her face immediately dissolved. She talked about what a sweet, gentle good-natured man he was, how hard he worked at his craft, how much of himself he put into this role. She beamed when speaking about their days on the set, and then she had a deep frown, and her voice softened when she spoke about his death.

Watched the episode where Carmella finds Valentina's nail while doing the laundry. Afterwards she steals $40,000 out of the shed with the bird seeds in the back. Tony sees that $40k is gone. Carmella leaves the nail on his night table. When they're together and he looks confused Carmella asks if everything is alright and he says yea. I think this scene really defines what their relationship is.

Also, Valentina is my favorite mistress... I like Gloria and Irina, but she is my favorite. I'd also bang the one legged chick too
