That's a very harsh result for Villareal - United 2nd best almost the entire match.  Could have been 4-2 if they had finished some of their chances.

Josef Martinez scored his 100th career goal for Atlanta United tonight. Stadium was electric. Words cannot describe just how enamored the city of Atlanta is with him. And the feeling seems to be mutual. At his post-game press conference, he said he wants to get to 200 goals next.

Watching Stoke West Brom on +. Last 15 minutes saw: penalty called on WB keeper and saved. Stoke keeper called for carrying ball outside box- YC and indirect free. WB keeper chipped on partial breakaway

I have no idea how someone didn't take a tactical foul during that break. They had like 5 chances to do it. Brutal
Yep and just now more embarrassing defending.  Very lucky it was offside.  It’s obvious United have few ideas other than hope for magic from CR, Bruno or Pogba.  Same story with Ole.

ETA - I may get grief from other United fans but there’s one obvious problem with United for me - Ole.  He needs to go but doubt you can do it with no one to bring in.

This seems like a team that could interest Conte.  Capable of competing at the top - just needs a little fine-tuning.

I’m not even sure what is missing but CR definitely touched on one thing - buildup is too slow when they are in possession.  On the counter they are fast and look dangerous.  And it continues to baffle me that with all these options he continues to start 2 of Fred, McT and Matic in a lot of games.

It seems VAR refs can now go back a minute or so before a clean goal, find a light foul in the buildup long before the cross that lead to the goal, and disallow the whole thing.  What a ridiculous state of affairs.

I know I'm a biased homer, but for the last 4-5 years this fixture has been just amazing to watch.  The intensity and skill needed just to string three or four passes together is incredible.

Man City are so so good.  Running Liverpool off the field for the last 20 minutes or so.  Gorgeous to watch.  Henderson and Jones aren't offering enough on the ball/with their passing.

This has become one of my favorite fixtures ever since both Klopp and Pep arrived. Games are intense and the style contrast makes it easy on the eye.

I think the fact that they both attack and neither side has dominated the other means games swing from 4-0 one way 4-0 the other. Just incredibly compelling.

Milner is lucky to still be on the pitch. Foden is owning him and he doesn't have the legs to keep up any more. I'll be curious what they say at half but the foul on the edge of the box he didn't play the ball and came in from behind on a player on a break away. My first thought wasn't PK but last man red when it happened.

Was nowhere near a breakaway IMO.  Think the announcing team got it right -- foul on the edge of the box.  Not even a yellow.

Not removing Milner is a mistake.  My guess is that Klopp's thinking Milner can play the full length of the pitch where Gomez doesn't offer anything over the halfway line.  But that's not near enough to keep him on IMO.

(And now I'd like to be the first to congratulate Milner on his 2nd half hattrick.)

Great response after half from Pool. They seemed to be getting run off the park and suddenly they are first to every ball this half. Wonderful job by Klopp of just recentering them.
