I swear to god I hate Fred so much - he constantly gives away the most idiotic fouls in dangerous spots.
How the hell did he get man of the match?
This ayling guy for leeds is insufferable
He was good, but probably could have been booked a few times. Heck, Casimiro is sitting out 3 games for less than what Ayling did at one point.

Ayling's fouls weren't even the part that bothered me. It was the constant ####housing. I just can't stand the whole falling down, hovering over the ball, finally realizing you're not getting a call, grabbing the ball, walking away with it for like 5 seconds and then losing your mind when someone on the other team grabs your arm to try and get it back act.

I get that its "part of the game" and happens in other ways in other sports, but that stuff just drives me nuts.

United move in to 2nd (only temporarily) but I’m expecting City to make a run now. If Arsenal can avoid City winning these two upcoming games they still are looking good but they’ve looked nervy lately.
A draw between City and Arsenal on Wed is probably the best possible outcome for United. Arsenal still have one game in hand over City and two over United until then.

United v Barca on Thursday.

Despite how “close” United are in the standings they just aren’t good enough and currently have too many injuries to overcome both Arsenal and City (not suggesting you are saying the can btw). I think with so many games and lack of a good 2nd scoring option we are going to be in trouble soon. Don’t see us getting past Barca and that may not be the worst thing in the world. Making sure we make Top-4 has to the be the priority along with ETH continuing his build. I will say he looks like the goods and nothing surprises me with results now. Just don’t think he the players yet to compete on 4 fronts and best City.

Agree - I hate that **** from anybody and United has a few of their own. Bruno and Antony have to stop with their theatrics.

Agreed. His two backhanded swings at Malacia (I think) should have been booked.

Oh for sure they are not in the title race. I am more watching the few teams behind them hoping to increase that gap. Top 4 and winning the League Cup is the min. If they can grab Europa and/or the FA Cup, its gravy.

But Europa is going to be crazy this season. United, Barca, Roma, Ajax, Sevilla, Juventus, Arsenal all involved. You want to compete but you also need to be real about long term goals.

Yep, agree with all that. On the league - it’s helps that Liverpool and Chelsea are so far off the chase. Tottenham seems super inconsistent and I’m just not sure Newcastle has enough scoring. But we are in a bad spot if Rashford gets hurt. He’s the only one scoring consistently. And we are too mistake prone in the back - almost everybody save maybe Lisandro and Shaw seems like they are good for a brain fart at any minute.

But my faith in ETH is super high at the moment and I think he navigated them through to top-4.

I don't worry about Varane, Martinez and Shaw. With Casimiro in I feel even better. I think Sabitzer is an upgrade on Fred until Erikson returns.

And yes while losing Rashford could be devastating, if they can get Antony, Sancho, Martial and Bruno scoring and Garnacho can keep building on his performances, there is a lot of excitement to be had. And maybe they could weather that. I do not hope to have to find out though.

Mullin 56th minute penalty gives Wrexham the 2-1 lead after going down 0-1 early at home. Big game against 3rd place Woking. A win puts Wrexham a point clear of Notts County at the top with a game in hand.

Old guy rant
I miss cable! 15 minutes into Bayern v PSG and I miss the next 12 minutes to buffering and rebooting. Ugh.
If you’re talking Paramount Plus:

Anyone else have trouble with picture quality on Paramount Plus? All of my streaming services and Youtube TV are all crystal clear except Paramount plus, which comes out very pixelated and blurry (like I have a slow connection or something).
I’m not watching it today, but whenever I do there is always something wrong. Only have it because I get it free with Walmart plus which I only have because I get it free with one of my AMEX’s.

Arsenal v City kicking off their EPL battle in a few mins.

Also have Dortmund v Chelsea and Club Brugge v Benfica in the Champions League in 30 mins.

this game is so cruel at times
great reaction/recovery time by Can

Have to admit Can's hair remains flawless here into the 89th minute, as always. That's not even the third or fourth best chance Chelsea have squandered today. Just maddening to the point I wish I hadn't watched at all.
What was the skirmish for?

Chelsea looked very dangerous today. They are lacking a clinical goal scorer, but their team sure can put the pressure on. They need to add Felix permanently btw. Thought he was the best player on the pitch.

Well that was a bad time to have the most spineless performance of the season. Middlesbrough looked very good, maybe the best team we've played this season, but we didn't help ourselves at all. Real quick turnaround for lunchtime kick off at Millwall won't be fun

Barca v United kicks off in an hour.

For United, Sabitzer and Martinez are suspended, McT/Martial/Antony/VDB/Erikson all hurt.

AWB Varane Shaw Malacia
Casimiro
Bruno Fred
Sancho Weghorst Rashford

Basically what I expected though I considered we could get Rashford in the middle with Garnacho wide.

0-0 at the half. Both teams with chances, good saves by Ter Stegen and De Gea.
Weghorst should have scored his.

Fred has been Fred, AWB needs to stop letting the ball roll by him and get a touch on it. The rest are fine.
Pedri off injured.

Let's see how the second half goes.

Sancho with another miss for United and United let Alonso get on the end of a header - 1-0. Of course it’s Fred - he’s utter ****. Stupid fouls, misplaced passes - if ETH doesn’t get rid of him it will be a shame.

Who goes into Fred's spot? Only the kid on the bench, Mainoo?
And why is Fred marking someone twice his height on a corner?

Ends 2-2. Leg 2 at Old Trafford next week.

Was a great match to watch - United played really well minus the two defensive lapses. Would expect Lisandro to come in for Malacia and move Shaw to LB. I’d like to see Sabitzer in for Fred too.
Agree. Also sounds like Martial and Antony might be available as well.

Gavi and Pedri expected to be out for Barca.

Klopp finally mixes it up and plays without a front-foot 8, putting Henderson and Bajcetic in front of Fab. At this point in Henderson's career that's basically a six and a pair of 6/8s. Seems to be working OK, at least against a team that wants to attack with all 17 16 players.

Disasterclass from Newcastle. Use everyone, rest as many starters as possible from here until the end, and get ready for the Cup final. Easily the worst I’ve seen in the Howe era.
