Norwich vs Sheffield United on ESPN+. Top 2 in English championship

Err....never mind leader Norwich vs mid table Sheffield Wednesday
The Pigs lead Leeds on goal difference for the second automatic promotion spot.  Leeds somehow managed to lose at home vs. ten-man Wigan in spite of having 36 shots on goal.

Another draw for AFC Wimbledon.  It looks like the relegation battle is going down to the bitter (or glorious) end.

The Dons have three games left to play:  away at league leading Luton, a huge six pointer vs Wycombe and a home match vs already relegated Bradford City.  Four points may be enough but six would be much better.
how many teams go down?

my ####s are only a point above you, with worse GD.

Man City: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Foden, Bernardo Silva, Aguero, Sterling.

Subs: Sane, Silva, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Otamendi, Gabriel Jesus, Muric.

Tottenham Hotspur: Gazzaniga, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Foyth, Alli, Dier, Davies, Eriksen, Son, Lucas Moura.

Subs: Janssen, Rose, Wanyama, Vorm, Walker-Peters, Llorente, Skipp.

Soccer noob. Bought FIFA 17 for 5 bucks just to try it and it's been a ton of fun. I even started to teach myself all of the various intraseason leagues and cups and all that because that's pretty weird for a new guy. Now I'm going to check out the local USL Phoenix Rising FC take on Tacoma. :excited:

You won't even be frustrated by the lack of enhancements to Fifa Career mode if it is your first time...

Oof. Man u probably rethinking that whole "hiring OGS full time" thing right now.
I was wondering about this too.  They looked so good for a while but could it have been the dreaded dead cat bounce?

They have now lost 4 out of 5 games in all competitions.

Only 4 games left to get it sorted.

They won't get top 4 after today but I'm still willing to give Ole some time.  Jose still gets most of the blame - but Ole could have them lower in the table for all I know

The thing that stands out to me for United is the lack of leadership. I can't even think of who on the club drives them. Pogba is a great player but he's no leader.

United almost seems to have made a point of building a roster full of temperamental players, only bothering to mix in a few without any personality whatsoever.  I mean, James Milner thinks Matic is boring.

I started following the EPL pretty closely during the 1995/1996 season and got behind Liverpool during the 1997/98 season -- the 8th year since Liverpool had last won a title (1990).

This is only the end of the 6th season since United last won a title (12/13), but I'm struck by how similar it feels to when I started following Liverpool -- where things are in a self-fulfilling cycle down and rather than starting over they're trying to hang onto the last era.

They need to find a manager they really believe in -- someone with a record of success, but not at an elite club, and start from there.  Shankley, Ferguson, Wenger and possibly Klopp (unless you think this year is a one-off or Dortmund was elite before he got there).  Seems like that's the model.  Arsenal + Emery.

Pochettino maybe?  Maybe the Ajax coach?  Find someone like those guys who are a fit for the culture of the club and willing to take on a long-term project.

NYC off the schneid, and looked comprehensively good vs DC.

Only saw the so called highlights from revs vs rbs, but that looked grim. I would guess the 47 people in attendance would agree.

They signed Ole to a 3 year deal less than a month ago. Don't you have to give him an offseason to  get his own players in?

Christian Eriksen with an absolute screamer. So someone in the 3-6 race finally got 3 points.

Arsenal and United both have a game in hand so can gain ground tomorrow but Spurs will be 3rd with 3 to play regardless of those results. They also have the best GD if it comes to that. Even without Kane and with the added UCL fixtures, they haven't to be odds on for a spot.

So I'm not sure what this lineup is...

         De Gea
Darmien Smalling Lindeloff Shaw
   Young Fred Perreira
            Pogba
Lingard Rashford

or

                De Gea
     Darmien Smalling Lindeloff
 Young Fred Perreira   Shaw
               Pogba
      Lingard Rashford

Bayern back on top in the 80th with a Lewandowski PK ... it was a weak call,  I don't think it should have been a penalty.

well that was just poor by United.  Nice counter by City.

Darmien runs with his man instead of passing him off to Smalling who has no one (and the runner would prob have been offside).  Young is nowhere to be found on the track back.  De Gea probably should have done better.

2-0 City

So bad.
