Somebody slipped them something before the game. It was crazy how slowly and disinterested they played in the first half- especially after watching how LIverpool used heart and effort alone to take control of their game (and some skill when they needed it). Alle was just awful, Son too. Lucas ws the only guy who seemed to understand they needed a little bit of effort to take the tie back.

So yeah, totally agree- whatever uppers Poch handed out at half definitely worked.
Apparently, Kane came in at half-time and ripped them a new one...

Is that true?
Its been reported.

Harry Kane’s furious half-time team talk inspired Tottenham to stage a remarkable comeback against Ajax in the Champions League semi-final, Kieran Trippier revealed after the game.

The England captain, who injured his ankle during the first leg of Spurs' quarter-final against Manchester City, was watching from the stands in Amsterdam, but went into the dressing room during the break to demand more from his team-mates.

Mauricio Pochettino's side found themselves 2-0 down at half-time, needing three goals to progress and Trippier revealed how strong Kane's influence was, despite the forward being unable to take the field.

"Harry's exceptional for club and country," said Trippier. "I don't know the timescale with his injury but obviously we're all hoping he can be back because of his presence, even here.

Harry Kane limps off against Manchester City

"At half-time he came in and was going mental at us because we can do better, which we all knew, but this is what we need, the leadership he has.

"The way he came in at half-time and wasn't happy, we all knew that.

"He just gives us that extra lift because his presence was massive for us."

love that.

As a neutral, happy for the Pool and Spurs fans

I got to enjoy two great matches in two days. My wife, who knows a little about the EPL and Champions League, actually sat down and watched the last twenty minutes of yesterday's match with me. She was amazed, as was I, at the pace the game finished with. She felt bad for the Ajax players laying on the pitch at the end of the game but said Totts earned the win. It was pretty cool to just sit there together and take in some fantastic football.

I hope the final is just as good as what we've been treated to this week.

:goodposting:

The past two days have been a tasty appetizer to warm us all up for the main event this afternoon!

Suck it @Sebowski!!

All- England, all the time!
It should be noted that the two teams in the CL final are managed by a German and Spaniard and the goals scored to get them to the finals were by a Belgian, Frenchie and Dutch players.

Europa league managers are Italian and French I believe and well most if not all of the Gunners goals are by non-English players.

Thats because the best in the world want to play in the EPL... 😉

It should be noted I was half drunk when posting that.....but you got the gist that there was a profound non-English stamp on these finals.
:suds:

I was just messing with you really. I actually knew exactly who you were talking about too. Poch spent forever at Expanyol and Lucas at PSG.

But quick shout out to South America!

  The's a lot of @'s. And it is well deserved. BUT you guys also basically proved my greater point. You always brushed off all the Spanish and German finals in both tournaments because everyone knows it's better to concentrate on the league. But now that it's your turn it suddenly means so much more. 🙄Congratulations on being a white male.
