Newcastle - West Ham is very entertaining. Some nice passing and end to end action
They obviously need to stay healthy, but an attack of Wilson, ASM, Miggy, Willock and even Fraser if he finds his form should be really fun to watch and give teams some fits. Like what I’m seeing so far.

NYRB are having one of those seasons where everything possible is going wrong.

Last night, in a tie game in injury time, they get called for a questionable handball in the box giving up a PK.

Their keeper saves it, but the refs says he moved too early so a rekick is taken.

Their keeper saves it again, but ref again calls for yet another retake for moving to early.

3rd pk goes in for the loss.
And they don't really have any difference makers on the field. Decent players, but nobody (but Caden) that pops. RB just not spending on the NY team...sucks.

I really don't see how Grealish fits in with what City want to do. He seems to want to do a lot of 1on1 stuff with the ball which slows a lot of their attack down.

Grealish again gets the ball after a series of passes and stops everything thing to go 1on1 at the edge of the box.
I completely agree but I do think he’s good and smart enough to change.  At Villa nobody would question him.  Pep will get through to him or he’ll sit.

Lots of fight from Spurs, haven’t seen that in ages. Also hoping the reffing levels stay as they’ve been all weekend, not a lot of soft fouls.

What a bookend for the opening weekend - great atmospheres from Brentford and Spurs.

I'm sure England will be having a COVID outbreak by next weekend - but just amazing scenes all weekend.

Absolutely.  Fantastic reffing and love the changes to how they are calling offsides and VAR.  Just silly they can't make that kind of change midseason when it's obvious it was needed last year.  If they continue this way, they'll have gotten it right in fixing what used to be wrong without swinging too far the other way.

We talked about that- his one on one penchant and how that might fit. It'll be interesting to see if they are willing to sit the 100mil pound man if he can't adjust to the pep style

Jamie Tartt adjusted his game to be less selfish after moving to City. Even made the extra pass that relegated his old club AFC Richmond.

I’ve watched just about every match Barco has played for Atlanta United and I still can’t decide if he’s good or not.

that inconsistency is exactly why he is still in MLS while players all around the league are moving to the big 5 in Europe.  At his best he is great but his swings in quality are too high imo.

This is probably a joke that is going over my head but Turner plays for the Revs.

Don't feel too bad about the result so far, Seattle is one of the two best teams this year in the league .
Sorry, not Turner. Don't know why I said that. Timbers normal GK is Clark and he got hurt a couple games ago.

Not sure where to post this without Floppo yelling at me but huge kudos to the Brentford fans yesterday for their reception of Saka.  Seriously made me smile - such a great moment.
Contrast that with the Leeds fans signing at Rashford and Sancho....

Ole is going to have some selection decisions - Cavani, Martial, Sancho, Rashford mixed in to this.
Hopefully he has faith to use them and make subs prior to the 75'.

Great game for United.  Moved the ball quickly and with purpose.  Pogba, Bruno and Greenwood on fire.  Now get Sancho in for James and rotate players.  Could be fun.

The change in reffing seems to be across leagues. So happy to see them play on instead of calling every ticky-tack/embellished nonsense and not going to VAR for every incident in the attacking third. Iirc, I didn't even see VAR used in the few games I watched/skimmed.
