All in for the Pep Guardiola outcoached by Unai Emory in the CL final narrative.
Imagine how good he'll be in a few years as he gets youngerHoly Jesus - I mean the finish is fantastic but that pass......
Begone foul demon. All in for the Pep Guardiola outcoached by Unai Emory in the CL final narrative.
it was you. That was a hell of a game between Real and Chelsea. Would've been nice to see CP bang in one of those chances, but those were tough.
Was it just me or was that one of the most biased commentator teams I've ever heard in the Champions' League games? Felt like they were cheering for Real Madrid. Their gushing over Real "showing real fight to get back into this" after Benzema's goal was weird. Really? Chelsea came into the game down 3-1 AT the Bernabeu and it was Madrid that showed real fight? LOL. Ok.

I wasn't listening to their commentary, but I heard the crowd reaction.I am at my office today and the only time I had the sound up was for the VAR on Alonso's goal. I thought they might help me understand what the review was all about. They didn't have a clue. It couldn't have been handball since the review confirmed the referee's call rather than being "clear convincing" evidence to the contrary. I think it must have been interference related to Kai being in the goal when the ball went in far post.

if it was interference, I don't know what interference is then. Kai was on the other side of the goal behind Courtois and not interfering with him physically or visually as far as I could tell. he was offsides though... so maybe that? I got caught once trying to come out of the goal and cost my team a goal by being called offsides.
hand ball... wow. I didn't see it on the replays, and I know when it might have taken place... just didn't see it happen.Didn't see it but the talk this morning was that it was handball on Alonso. They were upset about the two parts of the rule and how it needs to be changed (An accidental handball by the goal scorer gets called back, but an accidental handball by the guy passing to the goal scorer is ok).
Must have missed their outrage when Middlesbrough's goal was allowed to stand in the FA Cup.
Was talking to my mom who was watching. She said it must have hit his fingernail....hand ball... wow. I didn't see it on the replays, and I know when it might have taken place... just didn't see it happen.
That's the problem. Was talking to my mom who was watching. She said it must have hit his fingernail....
Tommy Smythe said he thought it was a clear handball. It hit his hand and sat up for him to shoot it.
Rodney Marsch didn't see it hit the hand.
A fitting ball from a top 5 all-time CM. What a player.
The clear and obvious benchmark is seemingly very subjective. Plus the slowmo replays and freeze frames change everything about how it looks. That's the problem.
If there are enough people saying it doesn't even look like it hits his hand, then I don't see how there's enough evidence to definitely say it did and overturn it.
I don't like the rule, but if it hit his hand, then it should be disallowed because of the rule, which is clear. However, I'm not convinced it did, even though I THINK it did.
Did the ref check the monitor or was it all the VAR official? If the ref checked the monitor and decided it was clear to him, then I would have a bit more understanding.
Up 3-1 playing in Anfield? You'll be fine.Quite the rotation from Klopp![]()
CL quarterfinal my dude….. without the away goal rule…Up 3-1 playing in Anfield? You'll be fine.
I agree with the bolded. The center ref needs to be making these decisions, the game is his responsibility. If the VAR official thinks there was something missed, he should buzz down and the center ref takes a look at the monitor. The center ref knows what he saw and can better judge if he sees something different on replay. Plus he has a feel for the game and how he's calling it.=============
The refereeing, he (Tuchel) implied, might have been another. Although he stopped short of suggesting that any headline decisions had been wrong, the Chelsea coach said he thought Marciniak should have checked the replay himself before ruling out Marcos Alonso’s goal for handball, rather than allow himself to be guided by the VAR official, Tomasz Kwiatkowski.
“It’s not only today; it was like this in the first leg,” he started to say, when asked about the official, before pausing and noting:
“I told him I am super disappointed that he doesn’t come and check [the footage of the handball] on his own. You should stay the boss and not give the decision to someone sitting in a chair, isolated from the atmosphere. He should stay in charge and check it on his own and explain it better. I thought we deserved more minutes [added on] at the end. Maybe it is too much to ask for in matches like this against this opponent. Listen, we had it in our hands and we were not lucky enough.
it aint art, but I think it's the right play for the first half-- with it only one goal, don't let City get any good looks to stretch the lead and wait for that one moment or two to counter and steal something to knot it up.Ugly, cynical game this far from atlético. Maybe they didn't want to have to dig out of a hole early. Maybe they thought that City's legs will tire in the second half.
Regardless, Atleti don't look like they have any ability to score that needed goal.
Yuck
the game has been turned on its head... AM looking frosty and likely.well... doesn't seem like they're waiting any longer!
right from the jump...
I missed the first 15 of the 2nd as I had to pick up my kids. Glad they are looking better, but the proof will be on the scoreboard.the game has been turned on its head... AM looking frosty and likely.
