⚽ Soccer Match-day Thread (5 Viewers)

Athena del Castillo is making England's defense look silly right now.  Three nutmegs so far, including one to set up her assist on the only goal of the match to this point.

 
What a turnaround in this match.  England were flatlining and then scraped a goal home to send it to extra time, then taking the lead with a thunderbolt from outside the box.

Just seems to me to be more evidence that optimal play is to shoot on sight from within 30 yards if a shot straight down the middle of the goal a good 18 inches to two feet under the crossbar is unstoppable

I agree.  I mentioned in another thread that the women's foot technical skills are increasing at a rapid pace.  Spain in particular looked fantastic yesterday passing and dribbling.

But gk-ing has not developed much in the past 20 years for the ladies.  I guess there are some physical limitations that can't be overcome in goal.   So many shots that looks like they should be relatively easy to get to simply go just out of reach.

I think it has improved somewhat to be fair, there's a lot more girls that are getting keeper coaching from a younger age than there were even a decade ago. There's still a way to go, but there is a natural limitation as to how much of the goal a women's keeper can cover if they're using full size men's nets. Not saying it's a good or a bad thing, it's just different.

I gotta look into these other options but am a tech neophyte. I’m missing great rugby all summer because it’s only on Florugby app for $30/mo which I don’t want to pay.
 
2-0 Brentford. Man U practically gives it away in the box after trying to play out of the back after a goal kick. Such a brutal 18 minutes for them. This is dreadful. I know they've been mediocre for a while, but this display so far is inexplicable.

ETA: 10 minutes later it's 3-0.

5 minutes after that it's 4-0. Tremendous transition move by Brentford for the goal.

load kodi and then add the crew. all sports, home and away announcer options with perfect quality.
 
Why did Conte get the red card there? He tried to shake Tuchel's hand and move on but Tuchel wouldn't let go and yanked him in to talk trash to him. And Conte gets the red?

It was a great game. I hate complaining about referees but it’s pretty disappointing to think about how the result was impacted today. Both teams have reason to be positive looking forward. Chelsea have a few things to work out but have been dominant in their first two games.

I am more concerned with that being the only card that Spurs got all day.

I don't see myself watching much EPL this year. Seems like they're moving more and more of the good games to peacock and I refuse to buy that out of principle. Not having Manchester united v Liverpool on regular TV is a joke.

Gonna try and get more into the Bundesliga instead.

I also refuse to subscribe to Peacock.

They frequently put relegation possible teams on Peacock.
 
I got Peacock for La Vuelta. 7-day trial then $4.99 w/ ads (it’s $14.99 for ad free.) On top of ordering HBO Max (no ads) solely for Hard Knocks. Will be canceling both at the end of the month.
