Watched the BHA v United FA Cup Semi in Spanish (I played in a game and went home and watched the replay, but espn + only had the Spanish version avail).

Brighton were the better team. United seemed very content to just hold on and see if they could sneak one in. Worked overall since Maguire wasn't there to mess it up.
United with very poor decisions in front of goal kept them from scoring.
De Gea and poor touches by BHA kept them from scoring.

De Gea is so bad at PKs I called most of the BHA directions and he went the wrong way each time. Makes you wonder what was written on his water bottle. Thanks to the miss by BHA.
I was concerned with who would take the PKs with Bruno, Martial, Antony, Erikson all off the pitch. Lindelof with the great winner.

City looking dominate, Arsenal looking poor.

And to no one's surprise, Ref Oliver afraid to give City a red for the petulant kickout/studs on calf at the end of the half by Ruben Diaz.
Such inconsistency among refs/VAR. Going through the ball into someone is a red. Kicking out after the whistle and no where near the ball is a yellow. Its backwards.

Forrest making a play to stay up!
Chelsea ouch
Damn you West Ham!

Wow Liverpool jumps Spurs and should jump AV with their game in hand.

City run rampant. 2 points down with 2 games in hand. I think the title is theirs.

Schedule
City: Fulham, West Ham, Leeds, Everton, Chelsea, Brighton, Brentford
Arsenal: Chelsea, Newcastle, Brighton, Forrest, Wolves

Can someone take points off City?
Can Arsenal win out in case someone does?

If Liverpool or Tottenham win out over their last six they get to 71 points. If Brighton go 7-1-0 in their last eight, they'd also be on 71 points.

So realistically Newcastle need 13 points from 7 games and United need 13 from 8 to assure CL status. Pretty much in the bag I'd think. And they almost certainly won't need that many.

Big week for Spurs then....

Tottenham v United today.
Liverpool v Tottenham this weekend.

I also love that Michael Oliver was trending last night and it was mostly City fans complaining about the ref being pro Arsenal when City's second goal should have been disallowed and Ruben Dias should have seen red right before half time. Perhaps Arsenal should have seen a player get a second yellow (I didn't see it), but still.

Miracle incoming.

De Gea needs to make contact with Richarlson to get the offside call. Nope, he just stands and watches it go in.

I don't mind Fred. He is an decent squad player.

Chaplin with a great strike to put Ipswich up 1-0 inside of 10 minutes. They win, they’re promoted. Would be great to watch them do it at Portman Road today. With Norwich stumbling this season, we’re close to seeing this return of the East Anglian Derby (or “Old Farm” if you prefer) next season in the Championship.

Plymouth, Ipswich promoted to Championship, barring a huge win for either last day and Huddersfield not getting another point, Blackpool and Wigan replace them. Orient were already up to L1, Stevenage have joined them, Accrington all but certainly join Forest Green going the other way.

Fairly big Championship game now between WBA and Norwich, both teams must win to keep slim playoff hopes alive

Still learning some history here. I was seeing a lot of congratulations from Newcastle supporters for Plymouth and was wondering why they all seemed genuinely happy that the Pilgrims got promoted. Apparently, in 2010, the two teams were playing each other at Plymouth Argyle. Newcastle clinched promotion that night, and the Pilgrims played We are the Champions, Blaydon Races, and Local Hero on the loudspeaker for them. The supporters even invaded the pitch with the Toon supporters. All of this while Plymouth Argyle got relegated that very same night.

Fare well in the Championship, mighty Pilgrims. :salute:

Believe it or not, Liverpool want to fight for the UEFA Cup spot.

Paul Tierny had an absolutely dreadful match. Just awful.
Did he decide not to send off Jota for a studs up boot to the head that drew blood? And of course Jota scores the winner....

Such inconsistency from ref to ref with sending offs. Its a disgrace.

Just so Spursy that Jota gets the game winner after he could/should have been sent off.

Huge match today between Everton and Leicester in the relegation fight. Could be cross-posted in the USMNT thread, @NewlyRetired - maybe Leeds want a draw here?
I can't figure out the best case for Leeds here. A draw puts Leicester above Leeds on GD.

I am thinking maybe a Leicester win may be best to keep the small cushion on Everton but I don't think any result really helps or really hurts Leeds.

Not a lot of good scenarios here. Draw keeps them all bunched, either team that wins moves above Forrest and Leeds.

Maddison has pen saved, shortly after Coleman's knee exploded
That's a poorly taken penalty. Wow

Going centre is fine, keepers don't stay in the middle as often as they should do. Just happens in the rare situation that the keeper stays put and the taker goes middle they look like a ***

Iwobi been awful all game but equalises out of nowhere
Very true. I went middle growing up and all through HS and College.

Every time I see Iwobi he is having a good game. Granted I see him only a couple times a season lol
