Round 2 tomorrow...............

Round 2 tomorrow...............

1. Houston Texans: Reggie Bush, RB USC2. New Orleans Saints: Matt Leinart, QB, USCany chance anyone less lazier than I would like to make a recap of this draft?![]()
It looked worse when we were in the middle of it than when it's compiled.
Some weird selections toward the middle.I doubt Cutler falls this far, but overall the list looks as good or better than the other mocks out there.Tomorrow - 2nd round?wow. Cutler all the way to 16? And Holmes at 30, way after Jackson...? Very interesting. Good job everyone.
I had a ton of fun participating up until pick 20 or so. Obviously I agree and disagree with with some of the picks. Overall a solid effort. I would like to re-do this one in a couple of weeks. Most glaring errors/questionable picks for me......1. Houston Texans: Reggie Bush, RB USC2. Dallas homer here I love the Manny Lawson pick. He would fit greatly opposite Ware. Two pure speed rushers who could control the flats and blitz the QB. Would be a great combo.I had a ton of fun participating up until pick 20 or so. Obviously I agree and disagree with with some of the picks. Overall a solid effort. 9...I like Huff there
12. I have no real idea.....I just think it's a reach. I see a LB going to Cleve.
18. I still say Dallas takes Carpenter.....but I have silver and blue glasses.
Other than that.......it looks pretty sound.
I'll stop by tommorrow for round 2.
Thanks EG..great idea!
Like I said I like him too. I think Carpenter gives more options he can play both ILB and OLB, with having great size and intagibles. We need a run stuffer who makes tackles besides James. Who plays the ILB postition then? Do you see Burnett playing inside or us getting a FA LB?Dallas homer here I love the Manny Lawson pick. He would fit greatly opposite Ware. Yeah, that was fun, but it wore me out. Irt, Cleveland 1.12 Brodrick Bunkley. That's just a great choice. There's few picks here that I am more confident in. I posted several comments from Savage and Crennel and they are all about getting tougher in the trenches. D-Line, according to them, is first priority. They can find an LB of comparable potential later. Bunkley is one of this draft's freaks. He is a lean 309 pounds of non stop effort and athletic ability. Just a great fit for a 3-4 D-Line.I had a ton of fun participating up until pick 20 or so. Obviously I agree and disagree with with some of the picks. Overall a solid effort. This is key IMO. Good DTs for the 3-4 are extremely difficult to find, if he's one, he's the pick.Yeah, that was fun, but it wore me out. Irt, Cleveland 1.12 Brodrick Bunkley. You're assuming he's available to them. I don't buy that the Titans want VY and expect them to take Cutler or D'Brick to replace Hopkins.Cutler has EVERYTHING owner Al Davis covets in a QB swagger, an outstanding arm and good mobility. Davis loves the long ball and this guy can chuck it.
I agree that VY may not be going to Tenn. I have a hard time paying 3rd overall pick money for a guy that you know will have to sit at least 1 year and probably 2 years before seeing the field. That is a ton of cap room for a cap-challenged team tied up in a guy that will likely not provide a return on the field for for awhile. Dbrick makes sense. You're assuming he's available to them. Reggie Bush. Anything else (since we're not projecting trades) is just wrong.
wrong..!!!1) We weren't projecting trades. 2) They just picked up Carr's $8 million option.Reggie Bush. Anything else (since we're not projecting trades) is just wrong.wrong..!!!
taking Reggie Bush is just wrong..they need so much more than another RB..
Dom davis has been solid behind a BAD line..get some new linemen , maybe Brick, maybe Mawae, and see how good Davis REALLY is..don't forget, Kubiak is a master of getting the most out of average rb's.
I'll participate, but won't run it.Anyone want to start a round 2 thread?
That seems to be the general consensus. I'd do it, but I wouldn't be able to do a very good job and might have to bail halfway through it. Anything worth doing is worth doing right, so I was hoping someone would take the reins.I'll participate, but won't run it.Anyone want to start a round 2 thread?
Another person jumps in without understanding Houston's OL. D'Brick is a left tackle, Pitts is a left tackle playing at a higher level right now than D'Brick will play at next year. Mawae is a center, McKinney is a solid center. They need to fill those positions just as much as RB or QB. Bush is the right choice. With the #1 overall pick, you take the best football player. Three teams passed on Tomlinson because they didn't need a back. All three teams made a big mistake. Passing on Bush is a mistake. Running Backs get injured all the time, depth is important. And Houston's run blocking has been fine. They need guards and a RT, especially a RT. He should be available right now in this mock draft. They need defense too. They were last in the NFL in team D.Reggie Bush. Anything else (since we're not projecting trades) is just wrong.wrong..!!!

New thread? We don't need no stinkin' new thread!2.01 Houston Texans - (they took Bush in round 1)if anyone out there has time to kill today and wants to start a new thread for round 2, let's get it on !
I won't do as good a job as you did yesterday, but with a little help and input, getting started now, we should be able to finish the round about the same time as yesterday. That seems to be the general consensus. I'd do it, but I wouldn't be able to do a very good job and might have to bail halfway through it. Anything worth doing is worth doing right, so I was hoping someone would take the reins.
No. But we do need one post with a "marker" word to search for that contains all the players selected in round 1.New thread? We don't need no stinkin' new thread!
Cool. I'll be around much of the day, but there are going to be at least 2 stretches where I'll be gone for at least a half-hour, and I may be logging off for the day at about 4.New thread? Since they have two early 3rd rounders it wouldn't be crazy to address the D here, but OL is probably the best call. I think Colledge is a perfect fit for Denver, and Kubiak will be bringing that scheme here. Daryn Colledge?
ETA: I'll try to QB this, but Round two will be Edited into this post on pg 12. EG, you can paste it to the first post whenever you have time.
Colledge is pretty good. You think Gilles or Lutui grade higher? I'd go with Gilles over Lutui (barely), but I'm very uncertain because Lutui was a stud RT while Justice was out 2 years ago, and that's the LT role because Leinart is a lefty. He is versatile. So, more input. Colledge, Lutui, Jean-Gilles?Houston:
Take the best of the guards. Gilles or Latui.
Take a linebacker: Carpenter, or the UTEP guy.
Tackle is not at value with the top 5 off the board.

Let's move to New Orleans. Everyone wants to see them address the OL, so we did. Ridge may have understood value better with Gilles and Lutui, but so be it. Colledge does seem like a Kubiak guy. The whole defense is holes. The only other option here is to look at their d-backs.
Their SS was Glenn Earl and their CB opposite of Robinson was Demarcus Faggins.
If I recall the LBs were just awful last year. The DL is pretty solid-- 3 good DEs, one probably leaving, and a good tackle.N.O. solved their QB problem - they need to go defense with these next two picks. Front 7, in particular, IMO.
Wroten, Rod Wright, Carpenter, Thomas Howard?
Their D-ends are nice. Ron McKinnon and Colby Bockwoldt played okay, but the other OLB position was manned by Terrence Melton and Sedrick Hodge. An OLB makes a good pick. Either Carpenter or Howard would do.N.O. solved their QB problem - they need to go defense with these next two picks. Front 7, in particular, IMO.
